Chapter 3: Chapter 2- What The Hell Is That?!

Hope's POV~

When I woke up, I looked and noticed that Lily had her head on my chest, my arms were around her waist, and she hand her arms around mine. It wasn't an abnormal thing for us, we would fall asleep watching tv in each other's beds on weekends, sometimes when we study too if she wasn't with her sisters.

Looking at the clock on my desk, I see that classes start soon. Not really wanting to startle her, I started to rub her back. When she started to stir I stopped and she groaned, "Why do stop?" she asked in a pouty voice making me laugh. "We have to get up. Classes start soon." Sighing, she got up and went to her room to get ready, leaving me to do the same.

Walking to class, I pass by Lily and the twins. "Oh look, Lillian, your girlfriend is here. I'm sure you'll be leaving us any second now. I don't like you dating my little sister Mikaelson." Lizzie poked as Lily walked over to me. "Well then it's a good thing I'm not then isn't it?" I say sarcastically.

Truth be told, I never thought of Lily like that. But when Lily told me Lizzie called me her girlfriend last night, and then Lizzie said again just now, thinking about it I'm not opposed to it.

Glancing at her, I notice that Lily actually looks really hot. Red skinny jeans, a white lace crop top, black leather jacket and black heels with her hair in a high ponytail. "You look nice today," I say as we walk out of earshot from her sisters. She looks down trying to hide a small blush but I notice. "Thank you. So do you" She says smiling as we walk in class.

Lily's POV~

In class, we're sitting in a circle. "All right gather together. Chain spells are about the fluid movement of energy from witch to witch. Where is Penelope Park?" Dorian asks, and Lizzie answers "Um, lady cramps Mr. Williams." He shakes his head, "Sorry I asked. A disharmonious group makes for an uneven flow.-" This makes us all laugh given what Lizzie said. Except for Hope, but nudging her, given that I'm right next to her, she rolls her and smiles.

Then a letter flies into the room. "Uh-oh. Who's in trouble with the headmaster?" Josie asks as Dorian reads the note. "Probably the people who started a rumble with the local high school," Hope says with no emotion in her voice and I shrug, "It was totally worth it. Plus they provoked us first. So no regrets."

"Lizzie Saltzman, Josie Saltzman, baby ripper, and baby mix three. Off you go." Dorian says looking at my sisters, Hope and I.

"This isn't fair dad why are we in trouble?" Lizzie asked as we followed dad around the library. "Because you started a brawl with the local high school that risked exposing what we really do here" "Okay but I didn't even use any of my powers" I defended myself. "You broke a girl's wrist." He said looking at me. "She provoked us, she had it coming." when I said this Josie and Lizzie nodded as well. Then Lizzie continued, "You weren't mad last night." "Oh, I was mad last night. But my undying love for my daughters just trumped my rage. You're lucky it's just community service and not actual jail time" He said the jail time thing specifically looking at me.

"Can I at least offer a rebuttal in my defense if it so pleases the court?" Lizzie asks and dad just nods. "First of all, I was provoked. My response was totally proportional considering the levels of abuse that I was forced to endure. And secondly... If anyone to blame it's Lily and Josie." This made me raise my eyebrows "Excuse me?!" and Josie had a similar reaction screaming "What?!" at the same time I did. "Well I'm sorry but if you hadn't have punched Dana, and if you have just let Kaleb catch the ball-" "You would all still be in trouble," dad said looking at us. "But nice job throwing your sisters under the bus." Hope defended Josie and me I. "Thank you, Hope." We said at the same time.

"Speaking of buses, the bus leaves in ten minutes. I want you all working together today, with absolutely no drama. End of debate." He says looking at Lizzie. "I wasn't even at the game. Why am I in trouble?" Hope asks trying to get out it it. "You know what you did." he says to her. I know too, but I don't say anything.

"So what did you do? My dad never gets mad at you. You're the prodigal daughter. Must have been something juicy." Lizzie asks Hope while walking off the bus. "Just drop it, Liz." I say getting off the bus. "Wait you know what she did? And you didn't tell me?" Lizzie looks at me wide-eyed. "Yes, and yes. It's not my secret to tell get over it."

"Alright listen up, it a beautiful day. You got options, litter, weeds, graffiti, your choice." Dorian says handing Kaleb a litter grabber. "Man it's bad enough we gotta do this while the humans get a pass. But there ain't no way in hell, I'm picking up their garbage." And Kaleb hands Lizzie the stick, who doesn't touch it. "Uhm I don't do trash either-" "I love trash, as of this moment." Hope says walking past Lizzie whilst grabbing the stick from Kaleb and a trash bag.

"Perf. It suits you. Looks like we have graffiti." Lizzie says to Josie and I. "Dad told us to work together, harmoniously. Without drama." "Well, I am feeling a rage attack coming on so I will be over there drama free. Are you guys coming or not?" "I don't know Lizzie is there a bus you want to throw us under?" I say and walk away from them all. "Where are you going?!" Lizzie, Josie, and Hope yell. "To do some community service!" I yell back.

Walking into the doctor's office, I go straight to the back, the receptionist tries to stop me. "Hey, excuse me, you can't be back here. Excuse me!" and she doesn't stop until I walk into the office room. "I'm sorry Mrs. Salvatore she just walked right past me," The receptionist says as we both walk into the office and I go sit on the desk.

Looking up, she laughs, "It's alright Jenny, this is my niece Lily. She's aloud back here." Aunt Elena says getting up and hugging me. When the receptionist leaves, I say "Shes new." and laugh, so does Aunt Elena. "So not that I'm happy to see you here, but what are you doing here Lily?" I shrug and stand up. "Got into trouble at the game against the Timberwolves, got sent here to do community service. I figured, what better way to do that than help out at a doctor's office." Aunt Elena laughs again, "Yeah I heard about that. Had to reset Dana's wrist and put a cast on it because of you."

I scoff at her name. "Yeah well... She had that coming." "What'd she do?" Aunt Elena asks and I look away. "She uh, she mentioned dad. In a bad way. Basically made fun of me because he's dead. And she messed with Lizzie and I about being off our meds." This made her eyebrows shoot up. "You're off your meds?" "They don't help. So why bother taking them." I shrug.

Thankfully she decided to drop it. "All right well, you're in trouble so you actually have to work. Come on, you can be my assistant for the day." and I follow her out the door.

After a few hours, I'm playing with a little boy who just got shots. "Alright Peter, pick a hand bud." and I hold out two closed fists. He points to my left one. When I open it there's nothing there, so he points to my right one. When I open that one, there's also nothing there. "What?! Dats not fair," he says and I giggle. "Wait, what's right here?" I ask reaching behind his ear, when I move my hand back I show him the lollipop that I had hidden on the back of my hand. "Here you go, buddy. That's for being a brave boy when you got your shots." I hand him the candy and he smiles.

"Wow, I never knew you were great with kids." Turning to the voice, I smile and go hug him "Uncle Damon, what are you doing here?" Pulling away, he leads us to the exit of the doctor's office. "Well, munchkin, Elena told me what you did to that little human girl, and I have to say. I agree, she deserved it." and we both laugh.

"Where are we going?" I ask as we walk around town. "Well, I told Elena you did enough community service, so I'm taking my favorite niece to get some food at the grill. Don't tell your sisters I said that."

"So, your birthday is coming up, what do you want?" Uncle Damon asks taking a bite of his burger. "Um, I don't really know. I haven't thought about it." This causes him to get a mischievous smile, "Well then I get to pick it. Hmmm, might give a nice bottle of bourbon. You're turning 16 I think that's old enough in my book." And I just laugh, "My mom would kill you. So would Aunt Elena." "Probably." he says laughing as well.

"Alright, munchkin, you should probably head back to school, it's almost dark." He says standing up and hugging me. "By uncle Damon. See you soon."

Walking over to Dorian, I ask "Where are my sisters and Hope?" he gives me a worried look. Immediately, I vamp speed to the school so fast that no one even sees me leave. To hell with the rules.

Getting inside, I see dad run in front of Hope, who is about to be stabbed by a giant gargoyle. Vamp speeding over, I push him out of the way, getting stabbed by the knife in my shoulder. "AHHH!" Screaming, I take the knife out of my shoulder, while Josie has the gargoyle distracted. My shoulder isn't healing as fast as it should, weird.

"Josie, Lily, repeat after me, fluctus impulsa, fluctus impulsa" Hope started saying a spell, copying her, Josie and I siphoned her, after a few chants of the spell, the gargoyle blew up. Turning around to dad, Josie speaks first, "How could you jump in front of her like that? You could have died, dad!" "Josie I-" he didn't get to finish his sentence, I yelled at him. "I already lost one father. Don't make me lose another!"

"Lil, your shoulder," Hope says turning me to face her, it still hasn't healed. Suddenly I start getting dizzy due to blood loss, then I fall. Hope notices and catches me before I fall, and then I black out.

Hope's POV~

Lily starts getting dizzy, she's swaying. Then she falls, but I catch her before she hits the ground. Looking at her shoulder that the gargoyle stabbed with the Dragon knife, I see it finally started to heal. "Oh my god, Lily!" Josie and Ric yell running towards me. "She's fine, the wound is starting to heal, it's just taking longer than usual. I'll take her to her room, and keep an eye on her." I say and they nod.

Carrying her bridal style, I lay her gently on her bed and sit in her reading chair she has by the window.

After about half an hour, the wound has healed, but it left a two-inch scar. I pick up some drawing tools Lily has at her desk, she draws and paints too, and start drawing what the moon looks like tonight.

Lily shoots awake sitting up, making me jump. "Jesus. You scared me" I say as she looks around to see she's in her room. "What happened? How did I get in my room?" she asks looking at me, then her shoulder to see the scar and she scrunches her eyebrows together.

"Well, your wound wasn't healing as fast as it normally does, so you passed out due to blood loss. It healed about an hour ago but left a scar. And as to how you got here, I carried you, and waited here until you woke up to make sure you were okay." I explain still sitting in the spot I was before. She nodded slowly before getting up and grabbing her towel, she walked into her connecting bathroom, she has her own bathroom because this has been her room since before it was a school and Stefan had this room made for her, and she started the water. Coming back out she smiled at me, "Thanks for staying. Ima- I'm gonna shower, get the blood off me. I'll see you later." she smiles, which I return and I get up and leave to let her do her thing.

Lily's POV~

After I showered, I was getting dressed when there was a knock at my door. "Just a second!" I shouted so they'd hear me, but Josie walked in instead. "Hey, Lil, there's a mandatory school meeting in like two min-" she paused when she saw the scar that the knife had left on my shoulder. I quickly finished getting dressed to cover it. "It left a scar? How?Also-" she slapped me. "ow" "Don't jump in front of giant monsters! But in glad you're okay. Now come on." and she dragged me out of my room to the dining hall.

Sitting in between her and Lizzie dad started his speech.

"If you had asked me a week ago, I would have told you that I knew the difference between myth and fact. I would have said that supernaturals were limited to the species under this roof. I would have said that folk and fairy tales were just stories. But I can no longer say that any of that is true. 'Cause just a few days ago, we were confronted by the existence of a dragon. And then today, our campus was terrorized by a gargoyle come to life. Some of us were forced to fight. We won, this time. They are drawn here by a knife that went missing earlier this week. And for whatever reason these creatures consider us to be the enemy. In their minds, we're the villains because we won't give then what they want. We don't even know why they want it. But we're going to find out. I can't say for sure what their true intentions are. I can't say there won't be more attacks. That's why I'm telling you this. To warn you. To ask you to look out for each other. To do what's best for one another. Because we're more than just a school. We're a family. And we will stand together, we will fight together, and we will win or lose this battle together, no matter what comes next."

After that, I was sitting on a couch with my legs on Josie's lap, Lizzie was mirroring me on the other side of the couch, and MG walked up to us. "Lizzie, I had the kitchen make these for you. Your favorite" and he handed her brownies. "Thanks, MG," she said, but while both my sisters we're looking at him, I got a tap on my shoulder. Looking towards where I was tapped, there was a mug floating there with a note on it. Grabbing the mug, I read the note "I figured you'd need this after the day we've had. -With love, Hope" it was hot chocolate. I smiled and looked over to her and mouthed "thank you" she smiled and mouthed back "you're welcome" and then she walked away.

"Lil? Where'd the hot chocolate come from?" Lizzie asked eyeing it while eating a brownie. I smiled and looked down at the note, "someone" I say and grab a brownie. "Oh. My. God. Jo look she's blushing!" Lizzie said teasing me, "And there's a note, let us see," she said trying to reach across and grab it, but I take my hand away. "That's for me to read and you both to not. And I am not blushing." I say and take a sip of the coco. Josie made a face, "eh you kind of are Lil. So who is this secret admirer of yours? Come on we promised no more secrets remember."

"Ugh yeah, you're right. But..." I pause standing up, "I will tell you both, if anything ever happens. If not, then you'll never know." And I start walking away causing Lizzie to playfully swat at my legs "That's not fair!" and I just laugh and walk away. "Goodnight love you both!" I yell as I leave the room, heading to mine.

"Lillian Estrella Forbes-Salvatore! Get up! You missed two classes and dad is having another meeting with the upper classes!" Lizzie screamed bursting into my room, making me groan and hide my face in my when she opened my blackout curtains. "Lizzie... Go away! I don't have classes today! They got canceled 'cause one of the students set fire to the classroom I was supposed to be in all day!" I yelled from under my comforter.

"Too bad." she says and she yanks the comforter off. "I will back in 15 minutes and if you aren't dressed I will show everyone your embarrassing baby photos." This made me pop up. "You wouldn't!" She just smirked mischievously "Oh, but I would. Love you, little sister!" she says leaving my room. Groaning, I get up and get ready. Thanks to my vampire abilities I can get ready on time, otherwise, I'd look like a zombie. I didn't sleep well last night.

15 minutes later Lizzie walks back in and I'm doodling at my desk, fully dressed with my hair done and light make-up on. "Wow Lillian you look rather badass today," Lizzie says glancing at my outfit. I was wearing black leather pants, a red v-neck with the school's logo on it, and a white leather jacket with white heels and dark red lipstick, my hair was let down, showing my natural waves and I had a smokey eye pattern. "Well someone woke me up so I was feeling bitchy, figured I'd show it today." I blow her and kiss and walk towards my door.

"Given the recent influx of monsters, the sheriff and I have decided we need to take drastic measures. Please give him your full attention." dad says and steps away, giving sheriff Donovan the floor.

"As Dr. Saltzman was saying, local girls Dana Lilien and Shasha Stateraux didn't come home last night. Dana sometimes skips town for a few days to party, but this is a first for Sasha." He said and passed around pictures of both girls. I don't need to know what Dana looks like, and quite frankly I don't care if she's dead or alive. Sasha however, I've bumped into her a few times, she was nice. "Thank you, sheriff Donovan, now as you know the knife is away with Dorian, and things are quiet on his end, it won't hurt to assume the worst. If Dana and Sasha have been...." I zoned out. Until I heard him say "So I'll need a few of you to go to mystic falls high under the guise of an exchange program meant to improve relations between our schools, which, unfortunately, is necessary given recent events. Now I give you permission to compel them to gather materials for locator spells, because any information we get will make all the difference."

Lizzie stands, making me raise an eyebrow. "Well, I guess that I can put aside my differences with Dana for a day, because that is was heroes do. So... I volunteer as tribute." I roll my eyes but stand up none the less. "This is a reconnaissance mission, Lizzie, not going to the hunger games. But I'll go. I don't have classes today anyway." I say shrugging.

"I'm in" "I'm in too" Kaleb and MG stand. Then, to everyone's surprise, Hope stands up "I'd like to help"

"Oh great, you're coming." I say as Landon gets on the bus. "Still don't like me do you?" He asks walking to the back. I take a seat across from Hope, "I don't like people I can't trust. As of this moment, you're at the top of that list. Plus you literally pushed me into a deadly werewolf bite, so there's that."

Walking out of the bus, everyone looks at us. Some with disgust, some with wonder, and most of the guys, with wondering eyes.

"Get your wedgy trauma in check or leave. Girls are missing." Lizzie glares at Landon. "He's fine let it go" Hope comments pointing us back to the topic at hand. "Alright, Landon, talk to anybody you still know here. Hope, you try not to deliberately alienate the entire student body, bar my sister, while the rest of us save the world." Lizzie says to our small group. "This isn't a contest Lizzie." Hope says trying not to roll her eyes, making a small smile appear on my face. "You're right. It's a mission. For a hero, and league of... Whatevers." Lizzie claims, putting her hands on her hips. "Yeah, screw that," I say and drag Hope away from the group.

"Well, this is the senior hallway, where I spent most of my years stuffed in every locker, except this one. That one distant open" Landon said hitting one of the lockers. "Why is it you decided to tag along with us?" I ask him and before he can answer Hope speaks up "Does the fact that we're not openly hostile to you make it seem like we're back to being friends?" and then we start walking away, but he follows, again. "Uh, sorry. I was trying to be effortlessly natural." I laugh dryly "Yeah well that requires you to be, you know, effortless. And shouldn't you be talking to people you know?"

"Yeah, that's easier said than done. There is no way Dana's clique is talking to me unless you have a spell that would make me retroactively cool." He says looking at us. "We'll talk to them then." Hope says and Landon shakes his head. " It's even worse you guys, trust me, you have no idea how human schools work. You're the new girls, might as well be radioactive."

"I'm sorry you both look traumatized, is this loser bothering you?" A cheerleader comes up to Hope and me. "He keeps trying to get us to buy his mixtapes," Hope says to her and I add "and asking us to make out in front of him." "Ugh gross, why do guys always ask the lesbian couples to do that? Well, we're going to lunch, you guys hungry?" The cheerleader asks, "Famished. Come on babe." Hope says and intwines our hands, we walk away from schoolboy wannabe.

Walking outside, I guess that's where Dana's clique sits during lunch, we sit down and one of the cheerleaders looks at me. "Hey you're the one that broke Dana's wrist at the game," she says pointing to me causing the others to look at me. Giving a nervous chuckle I say "Yeah, yep that was me. She was talking shit and couldn't back it up." there's a moment of silence before one of them said "I totally respect that. Dana may be our friend but sometimes she crosses the line." and everyone agrees, making Hope and I sigh in relief.

Hope and I were walking around the hallway and bumped into Landon. "Hey" "Well let me guess, pigtails spilled her guts and confessed to kidnapping Dana and Sasha case closed," Landin said looking at the cat ears Hope and I were wearing. "No actually, all she knew was that they went to deface our school with Conner. And her name is Cheryl. And she invited us to join the cheering team." I said, "Who are you guys right now and what did you do to the school loners? And what's up with the cat ears?" "A gift. From Cheryl." Hope said messing with them. "You're better than this Hope."

"ugh. Relax Eeyore, Dana gave them to her, Lily and I can use them for a locator spell. Plus, even though Shasha and Conner were dating Dana was secretly sleeping with him behind her back." Hope said and I continued "It's like every tv show old people watch, adultery, missing girls. 'A crime a passion' I think they call it."

"Look I know Conner, he's made my life a living hell but he's not a killer. Trust me." "Not everyone is what they appear to be Landon you should know. You're a liar and a thief." I say and Hope adds, "Trusting you is what got us into this mess in the first place. So you want to be good cop or bad cop because I don't think emo cop is a thing." Hope said making me laugh.

"Yeah well while you two were off being the cute new gay couple and making friends, I was doing to recon of my own. Scarf in Virginia heat?" Landon says pointing a girl turning a corner.

We walk out and find Kaleb about to feed on the girl we saw. Vamp speeding to him, I pin him against the wall. "Don't even think about trying to break free, you know I'm stronger than you." I say and push him into the wall again, cracking bricks behind him. Seeing his dazed look, I let go and turn to the girl. "Forget what you just saw, and head back to class to keep those grades up." she walks away as if nothing happened.

"Great Hope's already here. We know you killed Dana Kaleb, it's over." Lizzie says walking up. "Wait, Dana's dead?" Hope and I ask at the same time. "Dr. Saltzman found her dead, from a vampire bite." MG says glaring at Kaleb in disgust. "Look I didn't kill that girl, so y'all better get out of my face." Kaleb goes to run.

Running after him, I break his leg making him fall, and then break his neck. "MG, take him to the bus. I don't feel like carrying him." I say and walk to the bus. "Ugh guys, Kaleb was right" Landon voiced and Lizzie backfired "What so you're a mind reader now?" "Call it a hunch," he says pointing to the woods where a dead looking Dana walks out.

"We were on the way to graffiti that mill at your school. A harmless prank. But then I got snatched. Next thing I remember I wake up in a ditch. So enjoy it while you can Lizzie, I'm sure I look like crap. What wrong with your friend?" Dana points to Kaleb who's on the ground while she itches the bite on her neck. "He fell and kissed a table too hard." I say glancing at Kaleb.

"Oh my god. What is that!?" Dana asked feeling her neck more. " It's uh... Someone help me out here" Hope says trying to think of a lie. "Its... The mother of all hickies, you're fine Dana, just a-a little slutty." Lizzie said shrugging. Scoffing, Dana glares at all of us, "I don't even like any of you. I should be talking to the cops." "Ad sonum" Hope knocks her out and Kaleb wakes up. "So you didn't kill her. YOU FREAKING TURNED HER!" Lizzie yells at him.

"Turned her? You think I want to listen to that for all eternity?" Kaleb asks sitting in a table. "Well someone did. So now we have a transitioning vampire on our hands. So what do we do with her?" Hope asks and I shrug saying nonchalantly "We could just stake her." "LILY!" Hope yells at me and I put my hands up in defense, "What it was a suggestion. No one likes Dana anyway." I just stop talking after getting glares from everyone.

MG carried Dana to the bus. "So, let me get this straight. Dana died with vampire blood in her system, so she came back to life. And she needs to feed or die?" Landon says looking at all of us. "Nailed it, bro. Easy decision right?" MG said smiling. "Not everybody wants to be supernatural some people just want to be normal." Hope says and Lizzie comments "Guys this is a big decision to make. Maybe we should give her a day or two.." "She'll be dead in a day," Hope says looking at Lizzie and she shrugs. "Oops. I suck at math." I laugh.

"I'm sure she'd be siked to go to a school like yours, I know I would." I roll my eyes, "No one asked you helmet hair."

"MG, you're awful quiet over there. What do you think?" Kaleb asks and MG shrugs "Look I'm a feminist dude. I'm not gonna tell Dana what to do with her body." "Fine. Wake her up" I say quietly crossing my arms. And Hope wakes her up.

"Did I pass out?" Dana asks groaning. "I don't feel so well." "We know how you feel Dana, it's okay you're just hungry," Hope says in a calm voice. "Anorexia was sophomore year. This is something else." Dana glares at her. "Look you'll feel better after you feed" MG started but got interrupted "Seriously just shut up. God even the thought of eating makes me wanna-" and she starts puking black goo.

"Oh damn. What that girl eat?" Kaleb says backing up. "I think her soul just got on my shoes. Ew" Lizzie said backing up. "Oh, I think I'm gonna be sick" MG looked away. "Is this normal?" Landon asks "Guys she's puking her guts out." I say glancing at them. "Yeah, we can see that Lily." Lizzie tells me like I'm stupid. "No, she literally puking her guts out. Dana! Dana!" Hope yells.

Dana basically dissolved, nothing left besides her skin. "Should we call your dad?" Hope asks. "Why? So he can take another bullet for you?" Lizzie spits back. "No Liz, because whatever did this is not a vampire. It's gotta be another monster from the knife." I look at her.

Kaleb looks at Landon. "Maybe the monster was right in front of us the whole time. Hey, none of this started happening until you showed up and stole that knife. Which is exactly what the other monsters came here to do. You saying that's a coincidence?" Kaleb pokes Landon in the chest. "Yeah, yeah that's exactly what I m saying. You believe me right?" Landon asks looking around at all of us. No one speaks, so I do. "No. We don't. Ever since you showed up, I have almost died, twice. My sister almost died, our father almost died. So no. Believing you is not on our list of things that are true." "Got it. Say no more." Landon walks away.

After cleaning up Dana's body, Hope and I are cleaning our hands with cloths, MG is cleaning his shoes, and Lizzie is spraying water on the guts Dana hurled. "Gross. So I'm outa here, little piece of advice, Landon could be in there right now. Eaten fools. So, I'll holla." And with that, Kaleb leaves.

"Come on guys, if it's not Landon then what else could it be?" Hope asks and MG looks at his comic book page he was using to clean his shoes. "Spider. A big spider. An Arachne if you wanna get specific." he says showing us his paper. "This is nerd porn. Not real life." Lizzie says handing MG back his comic. "So are dragons and gargoyles. The writer bases her comics off of Greek lore. An Arachne was originally a beautiful woman who was charged by a jealous god and turned into a giant spider. "Okay, so it's a spider. How do we kill it?" Hope asks and I answer, "We blow it up." this causes them to look at me, "What, I read comics sometimes too." and I shrug. "Okay, but to do that we need to find it. We need something to do a locator spell." Hope says and Landon walks up. "Would its face work?" and he holds up skin.

We're running through the woods when the phone starts ringing. MG hands it to me, "It's for you. No way I'm telling your dad what we're about to do." "He loves you more," I say and hand the phone to Lizzie. "Oh, I suck at lying, you're great at it." she hands the phone to Landon. "You're his favorite" he hands the phone to Hope. "You're the hero" and the phone goes back to Lizzie and we run ahead so she can't try to pass it again.

"Hi, daddy." she answers and we all stop. "Hey, thought I'd call, check-in, see how things are going" "So good" "Really? Define 'good' Lizzie, because I don't think that involves me tracking down Dana's body to the glove compartment!" "Listen, dad, it's fine, we cracked the case. It's a spider. But like a big, huge, nasty spider and MG's comic books know how to kill it." "Comic books? Really? Lizzie, whatever you guys are thinking of doing. Just don't. Tell me where you are, and where are Hope and your sister?" "I'm sorry dad. You're going to have to trust me for once." then Lizzie hung up, and we went to the old mill.

When we get there, we hear screaming inside. Running I see Josie caught in a web. "Ignagus" I fling a fireball at the spider to get it away from her, giving her time to get free. "Guys, take my hands, repeat after me. Imperium fluctus malleus" Hope starts saying a spell. I grab her hand and Josie grabs my other hand, Lizzie grabs Hope's other hand, and we start saying the spell. Soon, the spider blows up. Covering us in goo.

Walking out, the guys are putting Sasha, who's in like a spider cacoon down, and they just stare at us. "Um guys, you a- you got-" "ShUt it MG before I break your neck," I say and walk towards school. My white leather jacket got ruined.

"Walk away Matt, I'll handle this." Dad says walking up to Kaleb. "Oh don't pretend like you on my side when you the one who told him. Question is: who told you. Lizzie? MG?" Kaleb starts walking over to dad. I'm out of sight, but watching to make sure nothing goes wrong when they confront Kaleb about feeding on humans. "Actually you just did. I've had my suspicions for a while. This only confirms it." dad says calmy, and Kaleb goes to walk towards Matt again. "So... What are you gonna do about it? Cause I know you ain't locking me up." he says and tries to bite Matt, but I speed to him and break his neck before he can. "Actually, we are... Sheriff" I nod to him. "Lily. Thanks" He nods back.

I leave and head to the kitchen. Making two cups of hot chocolate, I walk to a certain someone's room and knock. When she opens the door, I hand her a mug. "Figured I'd return the favor." Hope smiles and takes the mug, letting me in. "So, was human high school like you thought it would be?" I ask sitting down at her desk chair while she sits on her bed. "I don't know. It was certainly different from here." she says taking a sip of her hot chocolate, "But fighting a giant spider. I definitely never want to do that again." I laugh, "Yeah, same. I had to take three showers." she nods back in agreement smiling. "Me too."

After a while of talking, I went to my room to get some sleep. It's been a hell of a week so the more sleep I get the better.
