Third Person POV~
The bedroom door bursting open and the lights turning on made the blonde flinch from where she was standing with a paintbrush in her hand facing an easel.
"Okay, you missed class today, so I want a good reason as to why I was left all alone in class all day. Josie was doing I don't know what and-" Lizzie paused in her rant when she saw her sisters desk shattered, the shards of wood splintered in a large pile where it used to stand.
"-This looks like a good reason." Lizzie says slowly as she closes the door. She watched her sister frustratedly tilt her head as she grabbed a larger paintbrush with her left hand and aggressively spread the yellow and reds around the canvas.
As Lizzie walked further into the room, she noticed an opened bottle of alcohol on the nightstand, and a glass of brown liquor in Lily's right hand.
Grabbing the remote to her sisters flat screen, Lizzie put on meditation music before grabbing the bottle.
"What's this?" She asks as she reads it.
"I found it in here when I got back from the few days at the cabin with mom. Uncle Damon gave it to me, it's from the year my dad was born." Lily answered as she took a sip from her glass.
Lizzie nodded in comprehension before raising the bottle to her lips. Taking two gulps, she nodded as she licked her lips and sighed loudly.
"Ok. Now that I can think clearly..." Lizzie began. She paused as she walked towards Lily, handing her the bottle to refill her almost empty glass. "I'll be right back." Lizzie raised an eyebrow with the smallest of smirks.
-------
Lily jumped again when Lizzie burst through the door with one hand behind her back.
Lily gave her sister a suspicious glance as the blonde waltzed in and closes the door, yet not revealing what was behind her.
"Lizzie-" Lily tried to say something but her blonde compatriot interjected.
"-Look we've both grown up around vampires. And I know, that we both know, alcohol is a substitute to help with cravings. And the only reason my dad doesn't let the vampires here drink is because they're young. So, "
Lizzie then held out a blood bag from the school freezers.
Lily sighed hesitently. "I'm fine, Lizzie." the tribrid went to go back to painting but Lizzie wouldn't allow it.
"Bullshit, you are far from fine and you and I both know it. You'll feel and look a lot better after you feed." Lizzie didn't wait for an answer before opening the blood bag.
As soon as she did that Lily felt the veins beneath her eyes surface and her fangs began to come out.
Lizzie saw this as well and held the bag out with a small smile. She watched her sister close her golden wolf eyes and take slow, deep breaths.
"I said I'm fine, Lizzie."
"Ok, you toddler. I'm not leaving here until you drink this." Lizzie began in a serious tone. "You're super pale. Your hair is flat. You're drinking. And You're clearly agitated."
"I am not agitated." Lily raised her voice frustratedly, when she did so the paintbrush in her hand her hand flew across the room.
The sound of glassbreakkng made Lizzie look at where the paintbrush hit. Sighing sadly, she saw the wood end embedded into a picture frame. The picture was of the three of them, Lizzie, Josie, and Lily on their 14th birthday. The paintbrush was through Josie's head.
"This is about Josie." Lizzie says sofly. Seeing the look on Lily's face confirmed it. "Come on, talk to me. I'm the only one that will understand
the crazy in your head."
Lily shook her head frustratedly. "Its just hard. I already had heightened scenses before but this is just-" the Salvatore paused and a took a deep breath. "On super over drive. Like before I just had super powers but I was normal-ish walking along my home planet and now it's like I'm a blood thirsty, angry kryptonian just arriving in earth."
The movie reference in her sisters rant made Lizzie smile. She's still herself. She thought as she continued to listen.
"And I just... Can't help but blame..." Lily paused, sighing through her nose quietly then took a drink. Instead of saying who she was thinking, she continued to paint with a new brush.
"Josie." Lizzie concluded.
"-I did that spell in the prison world... I became werewolf for her. To get enough magic to get us out without breaking the sand clock. And it was for nothing. Because Josie did break it, got hopped up full of black magic, and then killed you, and then me. On Our birthday even!"
The Salvatore laughed humorlessly. "...And now I'm stuck with unimaginable power, no control over it. A hunger for blood that never goes away while I'm stuck in a school full of people I want to suck dry."
Lily finally turned to face her sister who was sat on her bed. "And mom kept us separated for the most part on our trip but there were times when we'd be in the same room. And seeing Josie try and act so normal just makes me want to-"
Lizzie's eyes widened slightly as she watched hybrid eyes glow brightly under her dark veins and Lily's fangs come out. At the last sentence of her rant, the glass in her hand as well as the paint brush in the other broke.
"Ok, you've clearly haven't been feeding, by the look on your face I can tell you won't say why." Lizzie held up the blood bag and grew her signature snarky face.
"Either you take this and drink it in front of me, or I will go get your newly made-up girlfriend and she can force you. Because, need I remind you, you have a new wolf temper to go with your blood lust and not feeding is like setting up the school to be an all you can eat buffet when someone in class gets a paper cut."
Lily took the blood bag reluctantly and slowly took the first sip. Gagging in the taste a bit, the blonde took the bag away from her lips for a moment.
Lizzie could see the physical changes right away. Lily's hair grew volumes and shiny, she skin no longer a greying pale.
"This is disgusting." Lily mumbles "Suck it up. Pun intended." Lizzie retorts quickly as she moved Lily's hand that held the blood bag back to her lips.
"Do you have to watch I feel weird with you staring." Lily asks with scrunched eyebrows. "Well seeing as you can't be trusted to feed yourself, yes! Now shut up and drink before I send this note to Hope." Lizzie takes a sticky note from the pile where her desk used to be, finding a pen, she writes '911 Lily's room'
Lily glared "you wouldn't." To that Lizzie crumpled the paper in her hand, touching the wall for a moment, Lily watched her sister siphon magic from the building. The Saltzman witch raised an eyebrows daringly 'Try Me' was written all over her expression.
The look made Lily grumble and shift her gaze to the unlit fireplace. She knew that look. She remembered it well. When they were little Lizzie would use that look a lot, and Josie and Lily learned quickly that she means what she says with that look, and when they didn't believe her, she did it.
"Ok, see, you're hesitating, I'm going to count the five, and then I'm sending the note to Hope's pocket, ready, one, two, th-" "Ok!" Lily gave in and drank the blood quickly.
Lizzie watched with mouth agape as she downed it quickly before grabbing the bottle of bourbon and taking a gulp.
Lily's face scrunched in disgust as she shook her head a little. That blood tasted horrid. It was bitter, sour even.
"Ok, are you happy now? Can you go?"
Lizzie glared before sitting on the carpet cross cross. "No. Now grab the singing bowl I know you keep in your closet, and come sit down." the blondes glare deepened when she saw her sisters unmoving form. "Now."
Lily rolled her eyes before dragging her feet towards her closet, Lizzie was ironically sitting a few feet in front of it.
Lizzie playfully swatted at her sister's feet as she walked past, "Stop. dragging. your. feet. what are an animal?" each word was said with a swat at the Salvatore's ankles. The Saltzman got a large smirk on her face as she made eyes contact with her sister "Oh, wait. You kind of are now huh?"
Lily let out a small giggle as she hopped over each of Lizzie's hits as if playing hopscotch. She walked normally the last few steps to closet. "You're an ass." the Salvatore laughed through her words and smiled at her sister before walking in her closet.
Lizzie smiled as she too let out a small laugh. She was happy to have heard the sound from her sister. Her laughs and smiles were few and far between since she's turned. Lizzie was glad to be the one to make Lily smile.
"Hurry up and come sit down." Lizzie smiled and patter the carpet across from her.
"Uh, do you want the big singing bowl or the other one I have?" The Salvatore called from in her closet, she kept all of her mediation trinkets in a chest at the back of the walk in closet.
"The big one." Lizzie replied in a normal tone. Lily walked out moments later and took a seat mirroring her sister. Setting the large singing bowl in between them, Lily handed her sister cloth covered stick used to make the article sing.
"Ok, take a few deep breaths before we begin." Lizzie spoke softly, the two closed their eyes, resting their hands on their knees they took calming deep breaths.
"Ok, good. Now give me your hands."
Lizzie held out her hands, her right one holding the stick. Lily used her left hand to intwine her fingers with her sisters, the two hold stick together, and holding hands with their free ones.
Closing their eyes, and taking deep breaths, the two began to play the singing bowl. Slowly and rhythmically tracing the edges of the instrument around and around again.
The melodies vibrations canceled out every other noise Lily heard. The only other sounds being her and Lizzie's even breathing and matching heartrates. Both becoming calm.
Lizzie took a small breath before using her left hand to slowly siphon her sister. Lily's hand twitched for a moment, the feeling tickling her for a moment.
It took a few minutes, but eventually Lizzie's hand slowly stopped growing red. The sound of the singing bowl came to a graceful end.
The gently let go of each others hands and rested them on their knees again, neither opening their eyes yet. Lily took a deep breath before sighing through her nose.
"We haven't done that in year's." she said in a gentle voice. Opening her eyes, she saw Lizzie opening hers as well. Smiling, the older blonde spoke "I know. Maybe it why we've been so bitchy." the blonde smiled.
Lily matched the smile, both slowly beginning to smirk. "No. I'm pretty that's just us. But I'm sure it would have helped." the two sisters broke out into laughter.
It was nice to just laugh with one another. Both girls felt more balanced and calm, it made joking around easy.
The two talked about everything and nothing for a while. Smiling and joking.
Just as Lizzie was standing to leave for the night, she frowned as she watched her sister sway on her feet. "Lil?" she asked softly.
Lizzie watched with concern as Lily looked away, holding a fist to her mouth the Salvatore let out a small cough.
"Um, I think you should head to bed now, Liz. Curfew and all." Lily told letting out another small cough. "Are you okay?" Lizzie asks unmoving from her spot.
"I'm fine. I'm sure its just the bourbon Uncle Damon gave me. I drank more of it than you. Now come on, you don't want your dad to yell at you." Lily assured her sister, finally getting the blonde to slowly move towards the door. Lizzie took her time putting in her shoes as she skeptically gazed at her sister.
Lizzie stood and started her sister down. Something is wrong, the Saltzman thought. "Ok... I guess I'll be going now..." she stretched on waiting for Lily to say something only to receive a smile in return, just as her hand moved to touch the doorknob, Lizzie removed it quickly and began speaking loudly making Lily jump.
"Ok. I give up. Something is wrong, you look sick, so while you gather the courage to tell me what's wrong, I'm going to pretend to look for my clothes I left in here."
"But you didn't-" Lily barely mumbled back.
"I know I didn't leave anything in hear that's why I said it was an excuse! Now start talking!" Lizzie yelled from the closet.
"Nothing is wrong." Lily repeated.
Lizzie walked out of the closet with her eyebrow raised and hands on her hips. 'Liar' was written all over her facial expressions. "Well. Not only are you a liar, in this moment. But apparently a thief."
Lily's jaw dropped at this accusation. "I am not!" her voice cracked in betrayal. Lizzie glared and held up her hand. In her grasp was a black and red hoodie of hers. The elder sister raised an eyebrow with a smirk as Lily looked away. "You know Jo and I got into a fight about this?! We weren't talking to each other for a week. I thought she stole it and was hiding it somewhere because it was my favorite hoodie to sleep in."
Lily let out a small cough as her sister ranted loudly. "What? Nothing to say for yourself now?" Lizzie smirked at her sister silence before the Salvatore began to cough again, this time more violently.
Tossing the hoodie onto the bed, Lizzie moved towards her sister, upon closer inspection it looked liked the bags under the eyes were returning.
Before Lizzie got too close, Lily sped into the bathroom. She ignored everything around her as we emptied the contents of her stomach into the toilet.
As she was being sick, Lily felt Lizzie pull her hair back. The Satlzman put Lily's hair into a bun and sat against the sink cabinet next her, gently rubbing her back.
After a minute or two, the tribrid had gone quiet, leaning on her arm she kept her head in the toilet bowl a moment longer before slowly sitting against the counter behind her.
Lizzie watched in concern as Lily sniffled and turned her head away, slowly standing and brushing her teeth. After Lizzie heard her sister finish brushing her teeth, she stood and moved to flush the toilet, only to pause.
"I can do that Liz, you don't have to-" Lily attempted to move her sister away but she was too late. "Oh my God." Lizzie said shocked.
Turning to look at the Salvatore, Lizzie watched her sister look away and sigh quietly, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "That's why you were drinking. That's why- is that why you're avoiding everyone?"
"No, I'm avoiding everyone because I'm dangerous." Lily responded quickly. "Because something is wrong! You're telling me two weeks, you've been a vampire..." Lizzie shook her head tears coming to her eyes.
"You haven't been able to keep blood down this whole time?! Why didn't you tell anyone! Why didn't you tell me!" Lizzie yelled angrily.
"And add more problems to the ones we already have?! Every other day there is a new monster trying to kill us! How am I supposed to tell everybody that I'm one of those monsters now and that I have almost no control! Everyone is worried enough as it is!"
Lily didn't know how Lizzie would react to their screaming match, but she definitely didn't expect her head to turn to the left quickly, the entire right side of her face stinging from a slap she received.
"You are fucking idiot. Now is not the time for you to be the selfless hero! You need to be selfish right now! Do you hear me!" Lizzie aggressively grabs her sister shoulders and shook her a little as she spoke.
"You're basically starving yourself. And I know it's not your fault but I would much rather be helping my sister with her problem then researching stupid monsters. That's what Landon and Wade are for."
Lizzie silently beamed with pride as a small smile appeared on Lily's face. "Ok. I'll go and let you rest. But bright and early tomorrow I will be back with a solution." Lizzie simply smiled, gently squeezed Lily's shoulders in affection before leaving.
-------
True to her word, Lizzie barged into Lily's room at 5 am. Lily whined as her blankets were ripped from her body. "Lizzie...." she whined tiredly, hiding her face in her pillow.
"Get up, and drink this." Lily cracked open one eye to see her sister holding a blood bag. She sighed and closed her eyes again. "Lizziebear, we talked about this-" she began tiredly.
"Shut up you idiot, it's human blood. Now drink."
"But your dad doesn't allow-" Lily sat up.
"That's a stupid rule and we both know it. And you're special. No hybrid of any kind tried to live off of animal blood. And clearly, it doesn't work. So here, " Lizzie held out the blood bag and sat on her sister's bed.
Lily rubbed her eyes with her right hand and reached with her left. Tiredly opening the bag, she slowly took a sip. Lizzie smiled proudly when she heard Lily hum in delight as she continued to drink more.
When she was halfway through Lizzie spoke, "Does this one taste better?"
Lily nodded and took the bag away from her lips a moment. "Mhm, this one tastes sweet." she continued to drink after she replied.
Lizzie sat up more with a smirk, "Oh, and here people thought I would taste bitter."
Lily took the blood bag away from her lips with a horrified expression and turned to her sister. "Lizzie... Do not tell me this is your blood." she said quietly.
"Ok, I won't tell you."
Lily looked even more horrified than before gagging and holding the blood bag away from her. "Oh, my god." she gagged again. Lily hid her face in the crook of her arm.
Looking over, she sent a large glare to her sister. "You're evil. I don't want your blood! Do you realize how gross that is!" she yelled and shook the bag for Lizzie to take.
The Saltzman rolled her eyes. "Look, later you and I can leave and go rob a blood bank, but I didn't have that kind of time last night. So, drink the rest of this and I swear to god, I will never make you drink my blood again."
Lizzie huffed and smiled, bringing the bag to her sister's lips. "Come on, you need it. And you already said it tasted sweet. Don't let me stabbing myself with a freakishly long needle go to waste."
"You're a terrible person. I hope you know that." Lily mumbled but slowly and reluctantly drank. She knew she needed it. But she wasn't happy about it.
"Lizzie?" Lily spoke after she threw the bag away. Hearing a hum in response, she looked and saw the blonde looking at her. "Thank you."
Lizzie smiled at her sister longingly. "Always. Josie may be my twin, but you're my triplet. I'm always here whenever you need me."
Lily smiled. "And I'll always be here too, " she laughed "Forver." she finished with a shrug.
