Chapter 1019 Heidi Samuel approached Natalie and positioned the umbrella above her head.
âDid it go well?â he asked with a smile.
âYeah, quite well. You didnât get bored, did you?â She chuckled.
âWhy would I be bored waiting for you?â Samuel stared at Natalie lovingly and continued, âThe rainâs getting heavy again. We should hurry back to the car, else we risk getting soaked.â
âOkay.â She nodded and stepped out of the Leitz residence.
His umbrella followed her closely and didnât let even a single drop of rain land on her.
Even though the small pools of water on the ground were constantly disturbed by the rain, she didnât seem at all bothered by the storm.
It was as though she was detached from reality and that Samuel was the only thing in her world.
Natalie felt like her heart was gently ruffled by feathers as tears filled her eyes.
There were more downs than ups in her turbulent, obstacle-ridden life. However, when she was being loved and cared for by him, she felt like none of that mattered.
It wasnât until Natalie entered the vehicle that Samuel closed the umbrella and sat in the driverâs seat.
Heidi had been staring at him unblinkingly. Even as the Hummer left and disappeared from her sight, she still didnât look away. Heâs gone? God, I felt like my soul was almost sucked away by him! Heâs too... handsome! Heâs the most handsome man Iâve ever seen! Itâs a shame I didnât have enough time to learn his name and background or exchange a sentence with him! Still, even through the rain, Iâve already fallen for him...
As she exited the car, her assistant held up an umbrella for her.
When she thought about Samuelâs gentleness while holding the umbrella and then glanced at her assistantâs mediocre appearance, she felt irked.
At that moment, all she felt about her assistant was that he was ugly, stupid, and didnât fit her ideal image of a perfect man.
âGive me the umbrella!â Heidi exclaimed with annoyance.
âEh?â The assistant still hadnât reacted to the situation yet.
âIdiot!â Heidi snorted and grabbed the umbrella from her assistantâs hand, leaving him in the rain. âDidnât you hear what I said?
Just looking at you makes me feel annoyed!â
The assistant had no idea why she was suddenly behaving like that. He was completely drenched in the storm and couldnât even open his eyes, but he didnât have the guts to complain about the arrogant daughter of the Leitz family.
After Heidi arrived inside her house, she handed the wet umbrella to a nearby butler.
âMs. Heidi...â the butler greeted politely.
Helma was very famous in Yaleview, yet barely anyone knew about Heidi.
They werenât born to the same mother. Helma was the daughter of Geertâs official wife while Heidi was an unplanned child he had when he was young.
When Geert was a young man, he had an awful experience due to his exile. It was thanks to Heidiâs mother that he managed to survive multiple times. After he returned to the Leitz family, he lost contact with her. It took nearly two years before he found the daughter he had with her and named the daughter Heidi Leitz as a sign of official recognition.
He felt he owed Heidi too much. While Heidi couldnât enjoy all the benefits Helma possessed, he did love her a lot and gave her almost anything she wanted.
Heidi asked impatiently, âTell me, who is that man?â
âWhat man?â The butler was dumbfounded.
âThe one who held an umbrella for the woman earlier!â
âWhich man?â The butler shook his head. âForgive me for not knowing, Ms. Heidi.â
âThen what about the woman? You should know who she is, right?â Heidi questioned in agitation. âI saw her walk out of the building earlier. Thereâs no way my family will allow a stranger to walk in or out of this place as they please.â
While the butler knew nothing about Samuel, he did know about Natalie, so he answered, âThe woman is the chairwoman of Dream Jewelry, Natalie Nichols.â
