Chapter 784 A Comprehensive Examination Even though the physicians did not spot any obvious injuries on Natalie, they decided to do as Samuel said anyway in fear of the man.
The leading middle-aged doctor gulped before responding cautiously, âLetâs... Letâs do a comprehensive examination. You donât have to change out of the hospital gown just yet.â
Hence, Natalie had no choice but to cooperate with the doctors.
As expected, no health problems were found with Natalie, who thought all the hassle was unnecessary. As for the physicians, they were over the moon when they confirmed that Natalie was not carrying any incurable diseases.
âAbout the gown...â voiced Natalie again hesitantly.
âYou may go take a shower first, and Iâll have a nurse leave you a fresh gown just outside the bathroom.â
âOkay,â responded Natalie with a nod before making her way to the bathroom.
It was not until she saw her reflection in the mirror that she realized how much blood she was covered in. Itâs no wonder Samuel was so worried. Not only do I have blood on my clothes, but I also have it all over my face and hair. I look like someone who just crawled out of a pool of blood!
Still, Natalieâs gruesome appearance was not enough to detract her from her thoughts.
Her heart ached when she recalled how Yvonne talked about her mother.
âYou think Jennieâs someone special? Let me tell you. Sheâs nothing but a skank and a homewrecker! I grew up with Thomas.
We went almost everywhere together and were planning to get married after our graduation. You think Jennie didnât know that he was a scumbag? She only let you take the manâs last name because she didnât want you to be disappointed in her.â
Is that the truth? Natalieâs hand trembled as she unbuttoned her clothes. Then, she stood under the shower head and let the water wash away all the blood on her.
Not only did she have Thomasâ blood but also Yvonneâs. For some reason, the smell of the clotted-up blood made Natalie sick, so she applied plenty of shower gel onto her body in an attempt to rid herself of the pungent smell.
It was only after Natalie had washed herself clean that she began to feel the pain, so she immediately turned off the shower head and exited the bathroom to change into another hospital gown.
Even though Natalie just had a hot shower, her limbs still felt icy-cold, somehow.
Outside the ward, the leading specialist handed a thick stack of reports to Samuel.
âSo youâre telling me that sheâs fine?â questioned Samuel sternly as he went through the reports.
In the face of Samuelâs intense aura, the physician beaded with cold sweats when he responded to his inquirer with extreme caution, âYes.â
Samuel then continued to flip through the stack of papers in silence until he had read everything on them. âGood job. You may leave now.â
Hearing that, the specialist finally breathed a sigh of relief. âVery well, Sir.â
After returning the reports to the doctor, Samuel got on his feet and headed for Natalieâs room.
When Samuel opened the door, he saw Natalie wrap her arms around herself while staring blankly out the window.
âAre you mad at me?â asked Samuel with a slight frown before approaching Natalie. âYou canât blame me for being too careful.
After all, Iâm only this paranoid because you always told me that you were fine when you werenât. How do you expect me to trust you this time?â
âItâs not that,â replied Natalie while shaking her head. âI donât blame you at all. Had you not gotten to me in time, I wouldâve been disfigured. Though, Iâd probably still survive.â
Natalie knew she had to be careful of Thomas, but she never expected Yvonne to appear.
When Natalie suddenly thought of her mother again, she quickly turned to look at Samuel. âWhereâs Billy? I need Thomasâ blood now! The sooner the better.â
