Chapter 842 Spilling The Beans Natalie knew Yana bore no ill will in asking about her future marriage plans.
As her godsister, Yana merely wished to know when Samuel and Natalie would officially become husband and wife.
Nonetheless, it did not seem as though marriage was on the immediate horizon for Natalie.
As such, Natalie answered candidly, âWe donât have any plans at the moment.â
Yana had assumed that they did not publicize news of their marriage for privacy, yet she was surprised to learn that Samuel had not proposed to Natalie at all.
She hastily replied, âI was just curious, Natalie.â
âDonât worry. I wonât read too much into it.â Natalie nodded reassuringly before meeting Yaraâs gaze and adding, âSamuel and I have been through a lot together, Yana. Heâs the one for me. A marriage certificate is just a piece of paper to me. I donât need it to prove our commitment to one another.â
Natalie meant every word of what she said about her relationship with Samuel.
Samuelâs feelings and sincerity toward her were more important than any of those formalities.
Yana grasped her hand and uttered, âIâve been through a lot to gain you as a younger sister. I just want you to be happy and safe.â
âI will.â Natalie smiled and nodded.
After their meal, they left the shopping mall.
The overprotective Hans was already waiting to pick Yana up at the shopping mall entrance.
Natalie bid Yana farewell before returning to the Bowers residence.
Justin happened to be in, and he was so absorbed in a phone call that he did not hear Natalie entering.
At that moment, he continued chatting on the phone, âI canât come back yet. Samuelâs going to propose soon, and Iâm helping to decorate the venue. Heâs treating your poor brother like a slave. The decorations should be up by next week. Iâll come back to Livingsfill then.â
Natalie could easily hear every word of his phone conversation.
After hanging up on his call to his sister, Justin turned around and immediately saw Natalie standing not far behind him. He was so surprised that he almost dropped his phone.
âW-When did you come in?â Justin silently prayed that Natalie had not heard anything as it would ruin Samuelâs surprise.
Natalie shot him a cheeky smile and drawled, âOh, right about the time you mentioned helping Samuel to decorate the proposal venue.â
Instantly, Justin panicked.
D*mn it! This is a disaster! Samuel has been keeping the proposal venue decoration under wraps to give Natalie a surprise! Heâs going to kill me now that Natalie has heard all about it from my big mouth before the decorations are even complete!
He pasted on an awkward smile and sputtered, âYou must have misheard me!â
âI didnât!â Natalie smiled and insisted, âI heard everything clearly. You said the decorations would be done in a week, allowing you to leave Dellmoor and return to Livingsfill.â
Justin knew then that he was doomed.
Nonetheless, Justin made a last-ditch attempt to save himself. He clasped his hands together in desperation and pleaded, âMy dear future sister-in-law, could you please keep this piece of knowledge to yourself? He really wants to surprise you, and all his efforts will be down the drain if you know about it. Heâs going to kill me for this! You have no idea what lengths Samuel has gone to in order to give you an unforgettable proposal. The landscape architects and I are struggling to keep up with his fantastical ideas.â
Natalieâs heart warmed after hearing Justinâs pleas.
The proposal was one thing, yet it was Samuelâs effort and love that touched her.
He has always been like this! He doesnât say a thing but tries to give me the best of everything!
With that thought in mind, Natalie walked toward Justin and patted his shoulder. She reassured him, âDonât worry, Justin! I can keep a secret.â
âYou said so yourself! Donât rat me out!â Justin felt as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. âJust pretend you donât know anything and wait for Samuelâs surprise! Though you already know about his preparations, I guarantee youâll still be bowled over by the actual event.â
