Advika's POV
Vidyut. Vidyut. Vidyut.
This man is playing so damn well, and it's making me furious beyond words. How? How can someone like me fall for someone like him? What is even happening? One moment, I was heading to the airport, determined to leave this country-and him-behind. The next, I find myself being dragged back because he used my so-called parents as leverage.
I knew his possessiveness, his obsession. That's exactly why I planned to escape to a place where he wouldn't find me. But of course, he didn't let me go. Not only that, but now his actions are creeping me out.
My fingers tighten around the frame I'm holding. It's a painting-my painting. A hauntingly beautiful portrait of me, so detailed that it feels like the brushstrokes are tracing my soul. But it's not the painting that unsettles me. It's the note attached to it.
"Come hunt me down, my little tigress.'
His handwriting. His words. His challenge.
But what sends a shiver down my spine is the smudges of blood on the frame. His blood. A symbol of how far he's willing to go. He clearly stated in the note-his blood longs for me.
My stomach twists. His obsession is crossing every limit, every damn line that separates love from madness.
I reach the place he led me to, my anger reaching a dangerous high. Every single person standing in my way becomes collateral damage-I strike, I shove, I hurt. My fury is blind, driven by the fire inside me. No one gets to control me. No one.
Then I see him.
"Avyut?" My voice is sharp as I aim the gun at him. "What the hell are you doing here? Step away!"
He doesn't flinch. "We need to talk."
"I don't want to!" My voice is firm, but before I can move forward, he lifts his phone.
One glance, and my entire facade cracks. The strong, furious woman I became shatters into the girl I was eight years ago.
No. No, no, no.
"Why is he contacting everyone I know?" My voice trembles as I look at Avyut.
His expression is unreadable. "What now?"
I clench my jaw. "Now, I fix the mess your brother created."
Without wasting another second, I storm into the room.
And there he is.
Sitting like a king. Ofcourse. His legs are crossed, his fingers lazily tapping against the armrest of the chair. He watches me with a smirk, his dark eyes filled with something... sinister.
"Give me one reason not to pull the trigger, Vidyut," I hiss, lifting my gun and aiming straight at him.
His smirk deepens. "Because you won't."
I grit my teeth as my hands tremble.
"And because," he adds, standing up slowly, "only I can handle you, my tigress."
I glare at him, my entire body burning with anger. Before I can speak, Avyut enters.
Vidyut's expression shifts. The amusement disappears, replaced by something darker.
"Why are you here?" Vidyut's voice is like ice.
"For her."
My breath hitches as Vidyut turns to look at me. His gaze is no longer playful-it's hurt. Betrayed.
"What?" I scoff. "I didn't call him here!"
His jaw clenches.
"Forget this," I snap. "Where the hell are my parents, Vidyut?" His lips curl into a smirk "Parents Or fake parents?"
I take a step back. "What the hell are you saying?"
He steps closer, his voice turning soft, almost mocking. "Calm down, my tigress. Look at this."
He hands me a phone. My fingers tighten around it as I press play.
My father-no, the man I called my father -appears on the screen. And he's speaking. Speaking things that shouldn't be real. Things that rip my entire existence apart.
Lies. Lies. Lies.
I feel my breath shuddering. My vision blurs. My hands tremble."Where the hell are they? " I scream.
He doesn't answer. He simply leads me somewhere underground.
The air is thick with tension as I step forward, but before I can reach them, both Vidyut and Avyut stop me.
"Don't go near them," they say in unison.
I freeze. My heart pounds.
"Why?" My voice is barely above a whisper.
The woman I once called my mother looks at me with cold, empty eyes. "Don't you know why?"
Money. It's always about money.
I swallow the lump "why?" My voice c my throat. "Then why?" My voice cracks. "Why didn't you get everything? Why didn't you tell me?"
They exchange a glance. And then, finally, she speaks.
"Your mother and father... were feared by many in their time. Your mother-Amisha Viraj Rajvanshi-was a hacker. Your father was the CEO of the Rajvanshi Company. They were trained for everything-combat, technology, strategy. Your mother was the sweetest, yet the most dangerous woman. And your father... he was obsessed with her."
Her voice falters. I don't breathe.
"One scratch on her, and he would burn everything down. She was his strength... and his weakness"
Something inside me breaks.
"We wanted everything they had. If we had simply asked, Viraj would have given it to us. But your grandmother-his mother-was a cunning woman. She never let him give us anything. So we decided to take it differently."
I shake my head, my body trembling.
"And that's when you were born. Not just you... but also Advik."
I freeze.
"What?" My voice is hoarse.
The man who pretended to be my father speaks next.
"Your twin brother , Advik - who would be your protector Nd shield of family." he replied with utter hate.
Little Flashback of their naming ceremony ~
Flashback: The Naming Ceremony
The Rajvanshi mansion was alive with joy, the air filled with the soft hum of sacred chants and the fragrance of fresh marigolds. The twin babies lay in their cradles, oblivious to the gathering around them. Their mother, Amisha, sat gracefully, her eyes filled with love as she held her daughter in her arms.
She gently caressed the baby girl's tiny fingers and whispered, "Advika."
Her husband, Viraj, seated beside her, looked at her curiously. "Why Advika?"
Amisha smiled, her voice soft yet firm. "Because she will be unlike anyone else-unique, untouched by the world's expectations. 'Advika' means unparalleled, just like the love I have for her. She will be strong, resilient, and carve her own path."
Viraj's eyes softened as he nodded. "Advika Viraj Rajvanshi. A name as powerful as she will be."
He then turned to the second cradle, where their son lay, his tiny fists curled as if ready to take on the world. Lifting him gently, Viraj traced his son's features-the sharp nose, the determined crease of his brow. His lips curled into a smirk.
"Advik," he declared.
Amisha tilted her head. "And why Advik?"
Viraj's voice was full of pride. "Because he will be invincible. 'Advik' means unique and eternal-one who can never be destroyed. He will be strong, just like his mother, and fearless, just like his father. The protector of his sister, the bearer of our legacy."
Amisha's eyes shone with emotion as she placed a hand over Viraj's. "Then let's hope they always find strength in each other."
Viraj nodded, pressing a soft kiss on both their foreheads. "Advik Viraj Amisha Rajvanshi and Advika Viraj Rajvanshi-two souls, forever connected."
Flashback ends~
My stomach drops. The air leaves my lungs.
"He was your father's pride. The closest to him in every way. You... you were your mother's reflection. But we kidnapped both of you, thinking your father would give us everything we wanted if we asked for it.
"But things turned worse when we kidnapped you. It was your first birthday. And that night... everything burned."
Flashback: The Night Everything Changed
The air was thick with tension inside the small, dimly lit house where the kidnapped twins lay in a crib, unaware of the chaos about to unfold. The people who had taken them-those who pretended to be their parents-were growing restless.
"We need to contact Viraj. He'll give us everything if we threaten his children." The man who had snatched them spoke urgently.
But before they could make the call, a loud explosion was heard in the distance. Flames roared outside the window-the Rajvanshi mansion was on fire.
The woman gasped, clutching the edge of the crib. "No... this wasn't supposed to happen."
Then came another shock. The sound of multiple gunshots rang through the night.
The man grabbed his phone, his hands trembling as he dialed. "What the hell is happening?"
On the other end, a voice sneered. "Viraj Rajvanshi is dead. The house is gone. Everything is finished."
His breath hitched. "No... No, this can't be."
His worst fears were confirmed when another call came, this time from one of their men stationed near the mansion.
"It wasn't us," the voice on the phone whispered urgently. "Someone else did this. One of Viraj's rivals. They knew about the kids too. We need to run. Now."
Panic surged. "Get the children! We need to leave before they come for us!"
The woman rushed to the crib, grabbing Advik and Advika, both now crying loudly. The man snatched the car keys, his hands shaking as they ran toward the waiting car.
The tires screeched against the gravel as they sped onto the highway, the twins wailing in the backseat. The woman tried to soothe them, but her own hands were trembling.
Then it happened.
The car suddenly jerked violently, swerving uncontrollably.
The man gripped the steering wheel, his heart pounding. "The brakes! The damn brakes aren't working!"
The woman screamed as the car spun out of control, heading straight for a cliffside road.
The vehicle crashed through the weak barriers on the edge. As the car tilted dangerously, the impact flung open the back door, sending Advik tumbling out.
"NOOO!" the woman screamed as she reached out, but it was too late.
Advik's small body disappeared into the darkness, falling towards the raging river below.
The car skidded to a stop just inches away from plummeting over the edge.
Everything went silent except for the sound of the rushing river below.
Tears streamed down the woman's face as she held Advika tightly, her whole body trembling. "We lost him... We lost him."
The man sat frozen, gripping the steering wheel, his face pale. "We need to go. Now."
They didn't look back as they sped away, leaving behind a boy lost to the river and a girl whose fate was forever changed.
Flashback ends~
The world tilts. I can't breathe.
"Your father's rivals set the fire. Your parents were killed. And as we tried to escape... our car's brakes failed. We crashed. And while we survived... your brother fell into the river."
The words slam into me like bullets.
No.
No.
No.
My knees give out.
But before I hit the ground, strong arms catch me.
Vidyut.
His hold is firm, unyielding. But his voice, when he speaks, is soft. Almost fragile "if you don't want to listen more, we can go.."
"You knew everything?" I whisper, looking into his eyes.
His lips press into a thin line. "No. I just found out when I kept them here."
My gaze snaps back to the people I once called family. My voice is ice-cold. "How could my father's rivals enter? My parents were too powerful, too smart. They would have sensed danger."
A heavy silence follows. Then, the man-the one I once called father-whispers, "Because I let them in."
My blood turns cold.
"I thought they would only hurt him a little. Especially his mother- your grandmother. That way, he'd give us everything out of fear."
I stare at him. Hatred floods my veins. My hands shake. My entire body trembles with rage as I grab the gun and aim it straight at him.
But before I can pull the trigger-
Someone pushed me hard.
"How dare you?!" someone screams.
