Amelia Black
"I was in pain!" Diana screams
"Because it's only been about you?" Adam asks in a cool tone. "If you want to fix our relationship, stop playing the victim and own up to all the shit you've done."
"You also need help, Adam. Have you been seeing your doctor? The old one, the one your father recommended. What's his name again?" She asks and I roll my eyes. SHE need help.
"It's Dr Sloan. Is that why you suddenly want talk? To get his name so you can throw your money at him like you did in the past?" He laughs humorless.
"Shut up, Adam."
"It's not going to work this time. I told him if you ever approach him, I'll triple the amount of money and then, I will make you pay. You will become the crazy one." He promises.
"How can you be so cruel?"
"You made me this way, mother. I'm just playing the character you created. Mad, delusional, troubled and abnormal."
"I never wanted things to go as bad as they did. My intention was never to hurt you. You're my son. I love you. I love you so much."
"I don't even know what that means but if that's what you would describe how you feel about me, then I guess love is as ghastly as they say it is."
And that's my cue. I've heard enough and I don't want to get caught.
Walking to the dining feels like an out of body experience because I can't stop thinking about what I heard.
Adam's dad is sitting at the head of the table while Liam and Damien faced each other. I sit next to Damien and as I look at the table I'm hit with nostalgia for all the times I spent in this house last year with Liam and our group of friends.
We ate here most of the time because Liam pretty much had the house to himself.
"Good of you to finally join us." Peter speaks and I assume his talking to me till I see Adam strolling in with his hands in his pockets.
"Sorry." He mutters then seats next to me. Before I can say anything, he kisses my lips softly and I gasp.
"We're trying to eat here." Liam comments but Adam ignores him. The kiss feels desperate and when he pulls away there's so much emotion in his eyes.
"Are you okay?" I whisper.
"I'm happy to see you. Sorry I was late."
I give his hand a squeeze. "Okay."
"Son, I'm glad you like your wife but keep it easy, okay?" His dad says but with warm amusement.
"I wish I had a wife." Damien sighs.
"No, you don't." Liam and Adam say at the same time.
Diana joins us and I notice that she's changed her dressed and touch up her face because she doesn't look like a person that's been crying.
We start eating with the pianist that they hired for the day playing beautifully. The food is delicious. I eat a good amount because I haven't eaten all day and that means Adam does not have to bully me into clearing my plate.
Him and his mum were acting normal like they weren't just arguing so I start wondering if its something that happens regularly and they hide it from the rest of the family.
"Liam and Amelia, we have a surprise for you." Diana announces after everyone was done eating.
"Oh?" I look at Adam, surprised but he just shrugs.
She gets up and leaves and later comes back with three staff behind her. One was carrying a huge cake and the other two were each holding gift bags but one is bigger.
"We know it's been a few weeks since your graduation but we want to do something special for you two." Peter says.
The cake is put on the table and written on top is "Congratulations Amelia and Liam!" with an icing drawn heart. The butler lights up the Roman candle and Liam and I stand while everyone cheers.
Adam is holding his phone up so I stick my tongue out at him then grin. Liam and I hug and I try to hold back my tears.
"This is so cute, guys. Thank you so much." I tell my in-laws as they engulf me in a big hug.
"Hush, sweetheart. We're a family and we're so proud of you."
I hug Damien then Adam. "Did you know this was going to happen?"
"Maybe." He winks then grips my waist. "Have I told you how stunning you look today?" He asks, looking at me adoringly and I shake my head.
"Then I'm an arse. My baby is so sexy and I should tell her all the time." He says sexily and my cheeks heat up.
"You said arse, very British of you." I laugh and he sticks his tongue out and pats my ass.
"Come and open your gifts."
Diana hands me the bigger gift bag, "Here is yours."
I peek inside and there's an orange box and a glossy wooden box so I instantly know where my gifts are from.
When I open my Hermes gift, I shriek. "Oh my God. How did you know?!"
"Your mother told us that you wanted one." Peter smiles at me.
It's a limited edition crocodile maroon Kelly that I've been on the waiting list for years.
"Thank you so much."
My Patek Phillipe wrist watch is a beautiful gold piece with diamonds surrounding the clock. "It's beautiful."
"Why do I get one gift and she gets two?" Liam asks.
"You want a purse, sweetheart?" His mum asks while his dad says, "Because she was valedictorian and you weren't."
"Fair enough." He shrugs and tries on his wrist watch.

"You know just because it's not chocolate doesn't mean it's not good." I tell Adam after taking my third bite of the cake. We are having cake in the living room with Damien.
I get a text from Chase asking if he could come over tomorrow to help me with some of his contacts in the financier world since I didn't want the guys him and Adam used.
I said okay even though I didn't want to because I know Adam spoke to him because he wants to help me.
His parents have gone upstairs and Liam is on the phone with Lily. Since Damien is about to head out we decide to go home.
Diana and Peter came down and say goodbye to us so I thank them again for today. It's so weird to me that being their daughter-in-law has automatically made apart of the family.
They're so free with me but I still haven't completely gotten used to them and after what I overheard earlier, it might take some work.
Were they bad parents to Adam?
"You okay?" Adam snaps me out of my thoughts and he helps me put my coat on.
"Yeah." I lie.
I'm not okay. I'm worried about you and how your mum may or may not be a psycho who selfishly sent you away for some unknown reason.
"You sure?" He asks again and I nod.
"Chase is very good at what he does, that's why I asked him to help you out but if you don't want to, I'll ask him to back away."
"No, no. I'm actually okay with that. Thanks, by the way." I kiss his cheek. He smiles and kisses my cheek too.
"Where are your car keys?" He asks and I hold them up.
"I will drive us home. Wesley will take the Maybach." He says. "I want to drive." I tell him and he scoffs, "I don't think so."
I smirk then put the keys in my dress, in between my boobs. He raises his eyebrow and I raise one back, challenging him.
He rolls his eyes and puts his hand, softly grazing my boobs. "If you want to be felt up, all you have to do is ask." He winks and heads out the door leaving me speechless.
Once we get in the car, I start thinking about how normal Adam is acting. My mind can't stop wondering about what I overheard.
"Okay. What's going on?" Adam speaks. We were almost home and the car ride has been comfortably silent.
I look at him. "Hmm?"
"You've been strangely quiet. I don't know what to do, baby. If I could do something about your grandfather, I would in a heartbeat." He says and I shake my head. "I don't care about that anymore. I'm fine, I promise."
"Then what is it? Something bothering you."
I'm confused about that conversation I heard. Some of it made sense and some of it didn't.
I sigh. "Promise me you won't get mad?"
"I promise." He replies impatiently.
"I kinda eavesdrop on your argument with your mum earlier and I can't stop thinking about it."
His face doesn't give me anything. He just stares at me. "You eavesdropped?"
"I didn't mean to. I was coming to get your mum."
"Then what made you upset?" He asks, looking confounded.
"Everything! I can't believe what she did to you. I get what you hate her now."
I knew that Adam's mum made up a disease to send him away but I didn't understand how selfish and how much gaslighting she did to him until today.
"Amelia, I don't hate my mother."
"But you're always mean to her and brushing her off. It's weird."
"I just get pissed off because she likes bringing shit up for no reason."
"Because you don't like to talk about stuff." I retort. He keeps things bottled up and that's not good for him and those around him.
"What's the point of bringing up the past? It can not be changed." He says, exasperated.
I take a deep breath and watch as the gate to our house open. "Because it always affects the future."
"Well, you don't have to be upset on my behalf. You already have a lot that you're dealing with right now." He says reaching for my hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"But you're more important than all that stuff."
"Darling, don't worry about any of it, okay?"
"I'm confused about one thing though."
"What?"
"Your mum said she lost two kids. I know she had a miscarriage when she was kidnapped by your uncle. Did she lose another baby?"
I feel his hand tense and it's like they go cold in my mine. All the warmth is gone. "He wasn't a baby and it was long before the kidnapping." The tone of his voice has changed completely. It is deep and filled angst.
"Oh. I'm sorry, Adam. I had no idea."
He had another sibling. A brother? How come I've never heard of this. No one has. It's kind of strange. Is he not the first born child?
"Was he older than you?" I ask and he lets go of my hand.
He seems reluctant so I'm surprised when he answers. "Nope. I came out first and fifteen minutes later, he was born."
It's as if my body had been electrocuted and my heart had dropped. I can feel my body shaking.
There's no way! There's no fucking way.
I look at him and manage to ask, "Adam, what are you saying?"
He gives me a sad smile with a depth of sadness in his eyes. "I'm a twin, Amelia."

Shocker! (Not really because some of you guessed it already.)
What do you guys think is going to happen next?
Do you think Diana is a good person or not?
Should Adam open up about his past?
Or should he stay in the sparkly bubble he wants with Amelia?
What do you think about Liam and Amelia's new relationship.
