Sarah ran for some minutes with Daiâs body still steaming hot, leaving burns on her and that suffocating air wasnât improving the situation.
She didnât know why they were helping each other, even if they decided to not fight they still didnât know each other, there was no reason to help and yet, they were acting like friends would help each other. It didnât make sense at first but the answer seemed even simpler than she expected
âThat memoryâ¦â she thought about the memory that appeared when she and Dai looked at each other, it was weird because it disappeared from her mind right after showing itself and she remembered it nowâ¦but it still felt like something else was missing.
She had to stop thinking for a moment and slow down her steps because the air started to get heavier, making breathing a lot harder. While trying to breathe slowly, she noticed there wasnât any smell of things burning, plus the ashes flying werenât even touching her but just passing through her body and the more she got close to Nysilia and Arismisâs position the more the air was getting heavy. All of this seemed weird, but now, the only thing she could do now was walk and hope she wouldnât have lost her senses.
âââ
Nysilia was fluctuating over a giant crater and looking down at Arismis
âIâm surprised. You are still alive, maybe you are not that badâ¦I would be saying this if you had more body parts.â in fact, Arismis only had the head and half of the upper body, the remaining parts were scattered throughout the crater or had vaporized.
âDo you find this funny?â asked Arismis, really annoyed by her
âNo, I find it depressing. The fact youâll remain like this forever without being able to regenerate is really sadâ
Arismis looked even more annoyed for a moment but then smiled slightly
âStop lying to yourself, we both know what is happening here, Samriel told me everything about it.â
âOh? Did you need help from someone instead of studying history on your own to understand the situation? Are you that lazy?â she tried to mock him but was completely ignored.
âA long time ago you gods were on top of everything and the Zonnikies were just your eternal servants who were subjected to numerous and useless rules, with the excuse that they would have been independent, but when they decided to riot, what happened? You fought and killed thousands of them, then restarted the world like it was nothing but just a game and, in the end, the same thing happened again, but they won and three of you fell into a slumber, while you, a coward, ran away!â Stopped talking for a moment waiting for a reaction but she was looking at him coldly
âAfter all of this, I want to ask you a question. Why do you want to stop us? Zonnikies became what you Gods wanted us to be, independent from youâ¦then why stop us? Why-â
âI donât care about those questionsâ her voice echoed again in Arismisâs mind âI know what you wanted to say from the start, so go straight to the point.â
â...You Gods are nothing without each other; if one of you, for some reason, disappeared, the three remainings would be weaker than before and thatâs why you werenât able to kill meâ¦because the others are asleep, almost close to death and you were alone for years, with your powers at just one-quarter of their true potential. You all are connected and thatâs what made you lose that war.â

Shortly after finishing that explanation, Arismis, or what remained of him, quickly levitated towards Nysilia and she grabbed him right for the face.
âI really want to be angry with you butâ¦I canâtâ She looked at him pitifully âYou are just trash that has been brainwashed by its creator, into believing that we are the bad people in this story, so I canât really blame you for all of thisâ¦but you are still trash and because of thisâ¦â a smile slowly grew on her face âYou must be burned out of existenceâ
At that point, Arismis started panicking âW-W-Wait! If you truly know everything, you also know that-â
âYes I know, your creator will quickly know of your death and he will arrive hereâ She shrugs her shoulders â...but I donât care. Actually, thatâs what I want since itâs been a while since Iâve met him face to face.â
âB-But heâs stronger than you! You wonât be able to defeat him!â
âI know.â
âT-then it would be pointless to kill me, just give up!â small tears started flowing out of his eyes
âNah, if I do that everything will be more boring; plus, Iâm one of the four gods and we never truly loseâ She said with confidence and that kind of confidence truly confused Arismis.
âW-What?â he said before strong clear flames vaporized him within seconds.
âYou would have never understood since you were just a failed product made from who became a disappointment.â she said like he was still there and then closed her eyes âBut it still shouldnât have ended like this. Things are changing way too fast.â she sighed âNowâ¦letâs wait for them.â
âââ
Sarah was still walking, at a slow pace, through that destruction and the closer she was to Arimis and Nysilia, the harder was becoming to breathe but she wasnât without hope and knew she would have made it there right in time-
SNAP
Right after thinking that, something in her broke. She fell on her knees because of a sudden pain, something had changed in her soul, leaving her with a sensation of both freedom, hunger and a memory that the girl had to seal away because of the link with Arismis, which had completely disappeared.
She shook her head âI canât lose time on this. I have to be fast, something happened to that bastard and this hungerâ¦isnât normal..â
She tried to recall his powers and while yes, still being able to use them, the lines werenât appearing.
âYou want more?â
Sarah immediately looked around, looking for the person who spoke, only for her to realize it was all in her head but it wasnât like those whispers she heard before, it was more like something coming from her soul.
The voice continued âThat guy on your shoulder looks like the perfect snack. Heâll give you the powers you want.â
âNoâ¦I donât need that.â She slowly got up and continued walking while fighting that voice.
âHeâs just a random guy you should have killed, but you didnât because youâre weak. Youâre lucky heâs weak too otherwise you would have died.â
Sarah tried to ignore the voice, it would have been useless to argue and continued to stay silent for a whileâ¦
âWhy are you ignoring me? Iâm just saying the truth. You are just weak and hopeless without someone that controls you.â
âThatâs not trueâ¦â
âYes, it is. You had everything under control until Arismisâs link disappeared and that proves everything. You are just a weak, pathetic and ignorant bitchâ¦but you have the solution right on your shoulders. How convenient!.â
While walking with her head low, she was seriously tempted to do that. She would have been free from a burden and would have had another power to add to the collection.
âYou are rightâ¦maybe I should do that.â she said expecting the voice to talk again but it never said anything again and now the air seemed to be lighter, with the ashes slowly becoming white. As she raised her gaze she first noticed a huge crater and then, fluctuating over it, Nysilia. But there was something different, not in her appearance but in her aura, it was like an endless column of white flames going up into the sky. Even a human could have felt it by how powerful it was but to Sarah, there was something weird about it, it felt familiarâ¦
