Katie's P.O.V.
It's been a day since I've been awake and no one knows besides the pack doctor and obviously Asher. So why not have some fun with this? Currently Asher is downstairs making me something to eat; he keeps going on about nutrition blah blah blah. Oh and Colton is just a few rooms over in the office... Cue overly dramatic music now!
I slowly get out of bed and quietly open the door and then walk down the hallway. I stop at the door that leads the room he's in, luckily it's opened half way. I look in and see Cole sitting at the desk with his ear buds in listening to music and texting. Asher would so yell at him if he sees him doing this instead of actually working.
Next to the doorframe is a small side table, on top of it is a sticky note pad and a cup of pens. I grab three pens and aim one of them in the back off his head. When it hits he immediately takes the ear buds out and looks around the room. Idiot.
"What the hell?" He says, still looking around the room.
I try to hold back my laughter. I throw another pen in the back of his head and he gets up and that's when I sprint down the hall into my room.
"Dude, why the hell were you throwing pens at my head?" Oh shit, he's talking Asher. This is fantastic.
I can picture Asher's face now, he would have a confused look and that cute head tilt he does. "What are you talking about?" He asks Colton.
Colton scoffs. "We're not ten anymore, I obviously know it was you."
"Maybe you should go lay down..." Asher suggests.
"What?! We're the only ones in this house and you expect me to believe that you weren't the one throwing things at me? Come on Asher..."
"Colton, I have no idea what you're talking about!"
I decided it'd be a good time to say hi. I got up and just as Colton was about to speak I walked out into the hallways. "Katie?!" He says, shock obviously was on his face.
I gesture up and down my body. "In the flesh."
Colton laughs. "I'm going crazy aren't I? First I think people are throwing things at me, then I see Katie!" He exclaims, throwing his hands up in frustration.
"No you idiot, it really is me." I say.
Asher nods. "She woke up yesterday." He says with a smile.
"Oh... Oh!" Colton walks up to me and gives me a tight hug. "Thank God, I thought Asher was going to kill us all!"
I cough. "I can't breathe!"
Asher stiffens. "Colton let go."
Colton does as he says, still wearing a smile. "This is great, now we don't have to be so stressed and you'll stop acting like a little b-" Asher cut him off.
"If you know what's good for you, you won't finish that sentence."
Colton fake smiles. "Acting like a beautiful man he is."
I laughed. "Maybe Asher's your true mate."
Colton stiffened. "Don't mention that." He says.
I tilt my head in confusion. "Colton, she doesn't remember anything from that day." Asher says to him.
"What happened?" I ask, still very much confused.
Colton sighed. "I found my mate."
I jumped. "Oh my gosh! That poor girl..."
He scoffed. "Yeah, well she ended up stabbing me."
I scrunched up my face. "I mean, I know you aren't like, attractive but that's a bit extreme."
Asher tried to hide his snicker, while Colton glared at both of us. "She did it to protect her family, her dad's third in command." Colton says.
Wait... My old pack... Third in command is Eli, Eli's daughter is... "Heather's your mate?!" I screech.
Both Asher and Colton cover their ears, I might have squealed a little louder than expected. "Yes, she is. But your dad won't let me see her or he'll kill her family, like I said." He explained.
That asshole! At this point, I don't give a shit if he is my dad. I'd like to rip his throat out for even threatening to take Asher away from me.
I nod. "Well, what's the plan?"
Asher crosses his arms over his chest. "We," he points to himself them Colton, obviously not including me, "are going to fight your father. You, are going to stay here."
I shake my head. "No way, I'm going." I say, mimicking his stance.
He rolls his eyes. "No, you're not. I'm not letting this go Katie. If you go, you'll be there first target and you're my weakness. I have to stay strong when I'm fighting him." He explains.
"I can help! I'll go get Heather or something." I say.
He shakes his head." No. End of discussion." Then he just walks away! And that doesn't sit well with me.
"Don't you walk away from me!" I say, walking quickly behind him. "Asher, I can't just stay at home."
He sighs and turns around, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Katie, I just got you back. There's no chance in hell I'm talking a risk of losing you again."
I wrap my arms around his waist and lay my head against his chest. "I'm sorry if I frustrated you, I just want to help."
He puts his arms around me, resting his chin on the top of my head. "I know you do, but this is something I feel very strongly about you missing. I'd literately die if you did."
"Ok."
"Ok?"
I nod. "I won't go." I'll just have to find some other way around him...
He squeezes me. "Thank you."
Later that day, I got up and tried to make dinner, but Asher stopped me. He attempted to make it, but almost burnt the house down so we ended up ordering a pizza instead. Asher blamed almost burning down the house on my 'beautiful' face distracting him. What a kiss ass.
Ever since I've woken up, I honestly feel no different. It feels like I just went to sleep for the night and woke the next morning. To know I missed so much is very strange, it's like it never happened.
"Pass the hot sauce." Colton mumbles over a mouth full of food.
I give him a look of disgust. "Chew with your mouth closed!" I scold and then hand him the hot sauce. He snappily snatches it from me and opens his mouth wide, showing me all the food in his mouth. "Ew!"
"The one thing I didn't miss was you two bickering." Asher states.
I shrug. "You shouldn't have an idiot for a beta then."
Colton glares. "Or a bitch of a mate."
Asher slams his hands down. "I can handle the stupid bickering but when you insult my mate, I won't stand for that. Watch your tone and the way you speak to her, understand?"
I even got nervous from the tone of his voice. "Asher, it's alright. I shouldn't have started it." I try to calm him. He continues to glare daggers a Colton. I place my hand on his shoulder. "It's ok." He instantly relaxes.
Colton gulps and bows his head. "I'm sorry."
"Well, not that I don't love awkward moments, but I think we should call it a night." I say.
They both agree and Colton walks off, leaving Asher and I.
"Sometimes I hate the way he talks to you. I can't control my wolf. Next time he does it, I won't hesitate to rip him apart." Asher states.
"Asher, he's your beta, your best friend! You won't do such a thing. Besides, it was partially my fault, I started it." I say.
His expression softens. "I just don't want you more hurt than you already had been."
I lean in and place my lips against his. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me, I'd die for you."
I smile. "I'd do the same for you."
"I love you Katie."
"I love you Asher." And then he smashes his lips against mine.
The kiss gets heated and we both stand up. I wrap my legs around his waist and he places one hand under my ass, holding me up and the other is cupping my face. He asks for entrance and I let him in, his tongue swirling around my mouth.
It feels like I haven't done this forever, which in reality I hadn't. But we haven't had an extremely passionate moment like this even when I was awake. I miss this, I miss him.
He kisses me with so much passion, lust, love, want, and he's holding onto me like I'd disappear any moment. I do the same, tightly wrapping my arms around his neck, pulling him impossibly close.
I hadn't noticed we moved until I was lying on my back on our way. Asher hovered over me and was in between my legs. I wrapped my arms around his neck, running my fingers through his soft, brown hair.
We spent the rest of the night wrapped up in each other, savoring every second we had to be with each other.
