On the walk home I mind linked Keller telling him we were heading home. I enjoyed seeing Zeiden and Sam whispering to each other the whole way. Some times I would see Zeiden glance my direction but I would pretend I didn't notice as I greeted some of the pack members on the way.
Once we got home I led Zeiden to Sam's room. It had dark blue walls, a grey poster bed, a shelf beside the bed, and a tv at the head of the bed. The four shelves were against the wall besides Sam's bed. The top one had a blue and white lamp, small ship, black alarm clock, and a kit to preform some sort of rock experiment. Two other shelf's were filled with books while the last one had a box filled with some pictures we had taken before and a few stuffed toys that Hailey had given to him.
There was a grey carpet in front of the bed and the walls had two paintings and other framed pictures. One painting was a forest and the other was of the ocean.
There was six pictures of us. Two of when he was a baby, one on his first birthday, another of when he took his first steps, another with me, Thomas, Mason, and Kyle all together. The last one was one day when all the pack took a picture together with Sam. He was still a baby and Thomas thought it would be good. What the picture didn't tell was that it was a few weeks after the big rouge attack. It was hard having to deal with the business and that was when we held the ceremony that accepted me as alpha.
I moved the covers letting Zeiden set Sam on the bed. I tucked Sam in after he handed me the book. "Now you better fall asleep, buddy." I told him picking up the book settling on the foot of his bed. He nodded snuggling into his covers. The curtains were pulled to keep out the noon sunlight and the room light on.
I looked at Zeiden to see him still standing by the door awkwardly. I smiled seeing him gazing at the pictures on the wall. "Zeiden." I called him. He snapped his eyes to me. "Sit." I said scooting over to give him space.
He looked at the space I motioned at then at me. He hesitatingly walked over settling on the very edge of the bed. The corner of my mouth lifted in amusement. "Don't worry I won't bit." I teased as he moved making himself more comfortable. "At least not yet." I mumble to myself.
Zeiden blushes seemed to have heard my comment. I smiled seeing him clear his throat nervously. I turned back to the book opening to the first page.
"Under the summer sun, a little boy sat next to the big old strong tree he had seen all his life. He turned up to the sky breathing in the heavy aroma of full grown flowers and the ripped fruit that surrounded him.
He spotted a small little bird as it flew in the air behind the flock of bigger stronger birds. He wonder the life of the little bird as it flew higher into the sky and he soon lost sight of it.
Even once it was long gone the little boy wonder what he would see if he were that little bird...."

"With that the little boy stood before the big strong tree once again. He said goodbye as he set on his journey ready to fly far away like the little bird-''
Alpha? I heard Thomas's voice in my head.
Yes? I asked.
Alpha Kyle has just reached the border. He informed me. I looked up at the alarm clock to see it was already three hours past noon.
I am on my way, Thomas. I dismissed Thomas shutting the book. I looked up to finally notice that not only was Sam asleep but Zeiden was too.
He had laid across the bed as I had read the book. I quietly got up and headed to the closets to get a blanket for him.
I got a soft white blanket big enough for him and laid it on him. I gazed at his peaceful face realizing that today things had gone better than I thought. At least he wasn't scared of me.
In that moment, I decided to give it a go and try to give it a chance. A chance to get together. I wanted him to get all his memories back. I wanted to know all of him.
I could see how his face seemed to make him look like a child. His hair messily tousled over his eyes. I smiled as his messy but cute state. I reached down and gently moved his hair back lightly touching his cheek before retract my hand.
I walked to the door looking back at Sam then at Zeiden before turning off the lights and leaving the room.
I headed straight over to the pack house. Thomas waiting for me at the base of the pack house.
He bowed his head when I came into view along with some pack mates that were around. I nodded back about to go over to him seeing how he had a slightly impatient look on his face. Ugh great.
I gave him a sneaky grin as I stopped in front of him. "Is he here yet?" I asked him innocently.
"You would know if you had been here." He replied.
I narrowed my eyes trying to act sternly as I scolded him, "Is that any way to speak to your alpha?" He stuck his tongue out at me the. turning to walk in the pack house. Real mature.
"Yeah I will go greet them all by myself!" I yelled after him to which he ignored. "Wow the respect." I mumble to myself.
I walked down heading to the direction of Kyle's pack guessing they would pass this way. It didn't take long to soon see Kyle along with Andrew and a few of his warriors walking my direction.
I grinned at Kyle as the rest of his pack bowed greeting me. I nodded at them throwing an arm over Kyle's shoulder. "Really for the meeting?" I asked.
He looked down at me suspiciously. "Why are you in such a good mood?" He asked cautiously as if I was about to lead him into a trap.
I shrug turning to Andrew. "Lead them to the meeting room and tell Thomas we will be there in a second." He nodded walking ahead with the other warriors.
Kyle began to give me weird looks as if I might have gone crazy. I remained silent as we walked now trapped by my thoughts. "Okay. Now tell me." He said refusing to walked as he turned to me.
"What?" I asked snapping out of my train of thought.
"Whatever it is you want to say?" He replied looking at me expectingly.
"Umm...Zeiden meet Sam." I mumbled still not believing that I even got back to talking with Zeiden. "Is that good?" I asked turning to Kyle worriedly.
Kyle looked at me shocked not expecting that. "Uhh...Kyle?" I called out to him waving my hand until he snapped out of his thoughts.
He blinked looking down at me. "Really?" He asked surprised. I nodded. "How did he react?" He asked suddenly eager.
"Who? Zeiden or Sam?" I asked continuing walking.
"Both." He replied.
"Umm...well I think it went well. They seemed to like each other. It was actually really adorable." My eyes widen noticing what I just said.
Kyle double over laughing next to me making my face begin to heat up in embarrassment. "Shut up, Kyle." I growled at him, but he ignore me continuing to laugh. I got annoyed punching his arm making him howl in pain.
"Ouch! Damn woman. That hurt." He whined while I smirked. "But that doesn't change the fact that you are going soft, Alpha Rue." He teased me laughing again but this time I couldn't stop myself and joined him.
When I turned back to him I saw him looking at me in awe and surprised. I furrowed my brows in confusion. "What?" I asked smiling.
He continued to stare at me stating, "you laughed."
I looked at him weirdly, "Yeah so?"
"I forgot the last time you ever laughed." He said as if it was the most impossible thing in the world that I laughed.
"Your an idiot you know that, right?" I shoved him aside laughing again when he fell not expecting my to shove him.
"Come on let's go before Thomas comes and drags us in there." I said walking up the stairs of the pack house. I couldn't help but notice how some pack members stared my direction with the same awe and surprised that Kyle had before.
Guess he wasn't kidding.

The next few days passed fast with me busier than ever dropping by the training grounds, attending meetings, and my patrol rounds. Zeiden offered to help take care of Sam at home. I just wished I could be with them too but had to much work.
I was in the office with Thomas as he inform me of my mate's guard report. Every day I would get a daily report of Zeiden's location and any suspicious sightings.
"Alpha?" Thomas calles out my name.
"Yeah?" I said looking up from my work.
"Sam's birthday is tomorrow." He informed me.
"No that isn't until a few more days." I said confused.
"No tomorrow is December 16." He stated confidently. No isn't today the 7th? I looked down at the corner of the my laptop to check on the date to find that he was in fact correct.
"Ahh...it's the 16th." I said. I can't believe I forgot. I had been have dates mixed not able to keep track of time. Great.
"Did you have anything in mind for his birthday?" I asked hopefully. Thomas ticked his tongue in disapproval shaking his head.
He sighed, "of course I do." He bragged. I suddenly wasn't so sure I wanted his ideas they were alway bad. Last time he even forgot a cake when he was planing my so called party.
He rubbed his hand reminding me of one of those evil characters in a Disney movie. "All you are going to take him out to the carnival in town while we set up the party. I will have all hands on deck for this. So I will most definitely not forget about the cake this time." He reassured me when I gave him an uncertain look. "For Pete's sake Kyle will help out." He said throwing his hands up when I still suspected his words.
I let out a chuckle agreeing, "Okay fine but it better have a cake present." I warned as he huffed stomping out the room. I chuckled at how childish he could be.
