Chapter 26: Chapter 26

He tensed impossibility still under me not longer in a daze. My eyes widen realizing what I just said. I quickly moved off of him into a siting position with my feet together and knees pulled to my chest.

"I-I I'm sorry. I-You don't have to say anything. I should have said anything. I am sorry." I babbled on scared of how he will react. Stupid me! Why did I say that?! Why couldn't I keep my big mouth shut!?

I looked over to see Zeiden slowly pulling himself up. "Zeiden?" I called his name as he looked at me and hummed in response. "I-I.." I started up but couldn't continue. "Never mind. Excuse me." I said standing up ready to run into the woods when Zeiden called my name. My full name.

"Ruedan Elizabeth Stone, you better not run away after what you just said." I heard Zeiden stated behind me.

"How do you know-" I was about to ask but then remembered the only being in this planet who would cross me like this. "Thomas." I groaned turning to Zeiden who nodded confirming my thoughts.

"What did you just say to me?" He asked walking up to me smiling. I could feel my heart lift at the hope that he would be able to love us too.

"About what?" I asked innocently as he gripped my hips to him growling lowly which was really hot.

"You know what." He whispered cupping my cheek with one hand.

"I love you?" I asked smiling no longer scared or nervous. His smile widened growing impossibly bigger.

"Yes, that. Say it again." He commanded his lips hovering above mine teasingly.

"I love you. I love you. I lo-" he cut me off by pressing his lips against mine, roughly might I add.

I kissed him with the same force when he pulled away and whispered the most beautiful words to ever cross his lips, "I love you, too."

My belly couldn't have taken his words because as soon as they left his lips, it let loose a zoo of animals. My heart beat speeded beyond physically and scientifically possible.

I jumped on him with a squeal having him grip the back of my thighs to hold me up. He walked up forward until my back hit the tree as I kissed the living daylights out of him. That's when I got an idea.

I knew that I could trust myself to not hurt him. I knew at that moment I could be myself around him and I wanted to prove it. I dragged my lips away from his breathing out, "Wait! Let me show you something." I giggled excitedly when he kept pecking my lips. Once I was able to get off of him I stood before him. "Close your eyes." I ordered and he gave me a confused look. "Just do it!" I smiled at him and he did.

"What are you doing, Rue?" He asked as I walked behind the big tree slipping off my shoes and stripping off my clothes. I could feel the cold air around me but it didn't affect me the slightest.

I could hear him mumbling under his breathe as I focused on shifting. I felt as my bone slipped into a new place and the fur sprung from my skin. I walked out from behind the tree jumping and running straight at Zeiden. I barked at him making him opened his eyes curiously but too late. Before he could even brace himself, I had already taken him to the ground.

I licked his face affectionally sniffing his neck for the now enhanced scent with him chuckling. "Rue you could have given me a warning." He said with a scolding tone and I felt bad. Did I hurt him? I whined worriedly getting off of him.

He realized how guilty I felt and quickly said, "it okay, Rue. I am not hurt. See." He stood up spreading his arms wide but grimaced looking down to his left arm that had a long scratch with blood. I whined ears lowered trying to apologize. "No it okay. Just a scratch." He said trying to calm me.

I slowly walked to him nudging his arm until he extended it. "Really it's-" he stopped talking when I licked his arm. I licked his wound trying to make it better. Once done I stepped back with Zeiden looking down at me with a curious expression.

Maybe I could try mind linking him. Mates are supposed to have their own connection so maybe I could mind link him even though he isn't werewolf. I thought to myself and was about to try when I heard a voice.

"Mommy! Zeiden where is-" Sam turned from Zeiden to me blinking shocked. He hadn't seen me in wolf form since he was a baby so he would be able to recognize me other than my normal green eyes. I turned to Sam tilting my head. "Mommy?" He asked uncertainty.

I barked at him nodding my head. I moved to him licking his adorable little face. He giggled running his hand through my fur.

I jumped back from Sam crouching in a playful warning with a bark. Sam understood and ran off trying to get away from me. I sent one last look to Zeiden, who stared at me in awe, before I took off. I will try the mind link later.

Sam and I played, chasing and rolling around. It was fun and for the first time I felt free and not scared. Even this football sized field I could feel my body begging to run farther and faster. My legs wanted to extend and push my boundaries.

I walked over to a blanket cocoon covered Zeiden stopping a few feet from him and sat down. He turned to me, "what?" He asked tilting his head slightly.

Zeiden. I tried to link putting all my thoughts into it. Zeiden. He looked at me with the same confused expression. Zeiden. I tried again but maybe it wouldn't work. I mean-

"Did you say something? I think I heard-" I looked at him eyes wide and tried again. Can you hear me, Zeiden? Can you really hear me? I asked hopefully. He turned to look at me eyes wide shocked. "W-w-was that you?" He asked cutely furrowing his left brow.

I nodded linking, yes! And you understood. I knew you would! That's mind linking. I said licking his face excitedly. "Wow! That's so cool but weird. It like someone is inside my head." He said giggling playing with my fur. The sparks appeared and I rubbed myself against him for more contact.

He ended up siting with my head on his lap, petting me. I felt calm and happy in the arms of my mate. I could feel him warm against my fur. Since my abnormal temperature in wolf form was by far higher, I was able to keep him warm too.

Sent a guard to the South border. Tell him to follow my scent from there. I linked Thomas.

Thomas asked if there was an emergency but I said no just some personnel business. He informed me there was already a guard on the south so he would be here in a few minutes.

"Is this the mark you got all those years ago?" Thomas asked his fingers outlining the blue scar like mark on my right shoulder. He probably didn't notice it last time I was in wolf form. Yeah. I linked purring when he lightly touched it making my body heat up in flames instantly. He smiled petting me as I disolved into a kitten right there in his lap.

I was too distracted to smell the scent of my men until he was just less than a mile away. Zeiden, I'm going for a run. Can you take care of Sam? I asked through mind link stopping him from continuing to petting me. I stood up looking at him knowing the guard was getting closer. I should have told him to not get too close.

"Yeah sure. Don't worry take your time." He agreed a blanket holding the blanket closer to him. I will be back soon. I linked walking into the wood seeing him look after me. Aww hell I already missed him. He is going to be the death of me. Soon I won't even be able to spent less than a few seconds without him. Maybe less.

I forced my legs to the direction of the guard. He was just about to cross into the field when I barked softly to get his attention. He jumped quickly turning around in a defensive position. "Who are you?" He quickly asked in a warning voice. Of course since I hardly ever have shown my wolf to my pack most don't know. But this stupid guard should take a whiff before threatening someone.

I gave him an 'are you serious' look linking, the one who ordered you here. He looked confused before smelling the air and then looked at me in shock. "A-Al-Alpha?" He stuttered taking a step back as if taking a physical shock. Yes. I answered impatiently.

Look out for your future Alpha and your pack mate. It's an order nothing better happen to them. If you hear even the slightest sign of trouble link me. I ordered him ignoring how he looked over my wolf in shock landing in my right shoulder that held my mark. I left the shocked guard there and ran into the forest.

As I dashed off I felt the total and complete feeling of empowerment and invincibility. The locked strength in my legs and body waiting for me to set them free. And set them free I did.

Soon I was not longer running in the woods, I was flying through the woods. The trees nothing but a distant whisper. The movement of my legs as they ran was freeing. I felt like nothing could catch me. As the minutes passes my heart beat increased in excitement.

I focused on my heart beat finding myself looking for another even miles away. My mind seemed to search for another even in this moment of pure bliss. Even surrounded in this strength and power, I still yearned for him. I found myself running back to him in seconds. I couldn't possibly imagine myself running even faster than before but it seemed like I did.

In the blink of an eye I was back to my mate and Sam. I quick linked the guard dismissing him. I stepped back into the field seeing how the sky was getting darker. It was getting late.

I grabbed my clothes from behind the tree with my mouth. I walked to Zeiden seeing him in the same spot as before. We should go. It will get darker soon. I told him barking at Sam to get over here.

Zeiden nodded in agreement putting at the stuff back in the basket. I turned to a sad Sam. If it was his choice he would probably live in this field. He would spent hours and hour in this field and never get tired. One time we even had a sleep over here in his birthday. Thomas, Mason, and Kyle all helped out on that one.

Would you like me to carry you the way back. I linked Sam who perked up at the suggestion. I was able to link Sam because he was still werewolf even if he hasn't shifted. Though he can't link me until he shifts. I have ever carried someone in wolf form but it's not hard, right?

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Sam jumped up and down excitedly. I crouched down for Sam to climb on. He giggled as he did grabbing a fistful of my fur in his small tiny hands to hold himself steady. Sam was practically a feather in my back, I couldn't feel him at all. I walked over to Zeiden who look at us with a soft smile. Here can you put my clothes in there? I placed my clothes down before him.

He placed the clothes in the basket then motioned to the wood, "let's go." I crouched down again linking Zeiden, Get on. He looked at me with a frown. "It's okay you don't have to." He protested holding his arms out.

It's not for you. I just want to get there fast and honestly we are never getting back before sundown with you walking. So get on it's just because I want to get home fast. I reasoned with him even though that was just an excuse. He looked at me hesitant shaking his head. Zeiden just get on.

"You are going to get tired. It's a long way home." He continued to protest. I will tell you if I get tired so just get the hell on. I ordered. After what seemed like forever I finally got him to get on. Honestly it didn't feel like much other than like holding a stack of books. My wolf was stronger than most so even this wasn't enough to tired us. Hold on tight. I warned before I ran of into the trees easily dodging them as I ran.

I could hear Sam's giggles and Zeiden's musical laughter from above. This was by far the best run I have ever been in my entire life. Too soon we make it to our house's backyard.

I crouched down letting them get off. I could see Zeiden's face still filled with excitement and glee with a big goofy smile on his face that made my stomach flip.

"Thank you, Rue." He said to me with a wide smile. Your welcome. I grabbed the basket he held with my teeth walking back into the trees.

Once changed I walked back out to have Sam throw himself in my arms. I had to drop the basket to be able to catch him. "That was so cool, Mommy. Can we do that again? Please!" Sam begged with his puppy dog eyes making my heart melt.

"Of course, baby. But another day it's getting dark." I told him pick up the basket walking to Zeiden who stood by the back sliding glass doors.

"Promise?" He asked holding his pinky up.

"I promise. I will even run you around until you get sick of it." I said tickling his stomach and he squealed and giggled in my arms. That night we all cooked dinner which consisted of spaghetti and garlic bread, together. We watched the movie Home afterwards and put an end to the most perfect day ever.
