Chapter 27: Chapter 27

My human mateWords: 15811

The next morning I woke up early to making Zeiden breakfast. Today was his initiation ceremony and the packs alphas were supposed to get here a little bit after noon for the ceremony.

I needed to get a lot done before then and Thomas was to help Zeiden get ready until then. Since I wanted Zeiden to sleep some more I left the scrambled eggs and bacon even a cup of coffee that I got from the pack house for him downstairs. I left him a sticky note next to his plate that stated, Good luck and don't worry you will do great. I know you will.

When I got to the pack house everyone was already up and getting the ceremony and after party place ready. The pack cook was getting the food ready for the others. They bowed my away congratulating me for my mate before getting back to work.

It took forever to get to my office where I found Kyle waited for me. "Kyle?!" I exclaimed surprised he was here. I had expected Thomas or Mason.

"Rue! How have you been?" He asked pulling me into a hug that I noticed I didn't shove off anymore. He seemed to notice too but didn't make a comment.

"Great. Just there is lots to get done by noon." I said walking over to my desk where I had the blue prints and plans for both events.

"I know, that why I brought a few extra hand to help out. They offered." Kyle grinned at me. I looked back at him thankful.

"Thank you so much, Kyle. I think I will need them." I said giving him a side hug as I picked up the papers. "I will take it that you will help too, right?" I asked with a raised brow.

"Wow, Rue. I lend you my hand and you pull my leg." He mumbled something like that before sighing and grinning. "Of course, I wouldn't miss this for the world."

"With that said...here," I shoved the after party event papers into his hands, "You and Mason get to work on that. By the way, where is Thomas I haven't seen him?" I asked.

"Ohh he was just here a second ago. Didn't you see him walk down the hall?" I shook my head. "He was going to tell you that he was heading for Zeiden to help him out." Kyle informed me.

"Okay then. That will do, let's go." I said leading Kyle down the hall. Kyle headed to the backyard where the party will take place and I into the woods where the ceremony is taking place under the full moon.

After hours of moving and setting up the candles and moving the decorations around, I had to report back to the pack house where the packs were already getting here. I ordered Mason to finish up the ceremony setting while I greeted the alphas.

I directed them to the kitchen and to rooms in case they wanted to rest for a while informing them the ceremony started in a few hours. I told them that once it was 11:30pm they should follow the lanterns hung up in the tree into the woods.

The rest of the hours I had to stay and converse with some of them about pack business and the rouge issues that had somehow spread. It was around 10:27pm when Mason told me that the places where ready and I need to get ready.

He told me to head up to my room and that someone would head up there to help me. I departed from the men and heads to my room. I decided to take a shower first.

When I got out I heard the sound of two voices in my room. I wrapped myself in a towel and walked into my room. I saw Aria and red headed girl that I remember was Mason's mate and a rouge.

"What are you doing here?" I spit out angrily. She is supposed to be in a room guarded. She turned to me with wide scared eyes shaking a bit.

Aria it her lip trying to stand up for her. "Mason and Thomas said she could help you get ready. Come on, Rue. She is Mason's mate. Give her a chance." I glared at the red headed girl turning to Aria to see her bow her head at me. "Alpha." She finished respectfully.

I turned back to the red headed girl. "What's your name?" I asked with a blank tone trying not to snarl at her reminding myself that Mason has been my friend for years.

"Blair." She mumbled with her head still down. I studied her maybe I could give her a chance. If she becomes part of the pack she will have to protect her alpha, my mate because her wolf will force her to. Any werewolf has the natural instinct to protect their alphas and mate. It is the natural law of werewolves. Alphas on the other hand have the natural instinct to protect their mate and pack.

"Alright, for Mason I will give you a chance," I said as she raised her head a little looking at me stunned, "but if you ever dare to cross me, I swear to you and my pack that I will not hesitate to rip you apart." I growled.

She smile seeming to only catch the first part. "Of course. Yes. I will not disappoint you. Thank you." She grinned at me. She is a weird one.

I found that she is actually a very weird one. She played music the entire time we got ready. She reminded me of a little kid in Christmas.

Aria brought dozens of dress for us to choose from. I swear it was like a friggin store in here.

Aria changed into a floor length mint sparkling dress that had a sweetheart neckline that was strapless of the shoulder. She had flawless light makeup and some white plumps. She pick her hair up in an elegant bun.

Blair in the other hand had a black deep neck dress that came up to her lower thighs. It was pretty and had floral designs on it. She braided her hair over one shoulder. She matched it with white plumps similar to Aria's.

I ended up in a long sleeve white floor length dress that pooled around me by how long it was. It had a beautiful silk fabric that hugged my skin. The top was a white lace with swirls of flower vines all across it. I didn't wear any shoes because it was tradition for the alpha and one being initiated to be bare footed. I left my hair down letting the my wavy hair down my back. Aria did my makeup putting eyeliner and golden colored stuff around my eyes. She put me some type of glossy lipstick at made my full pink lips stand out.

I checked the time and saw that it was 11:47pm. Ohh no I am late. I shouldn't have spent all that time in the shower. I told the girls that we had to go and that I would sent someone to clean up later. We rushed down the stairs trying to avoid the other. It took some time because on the way I had to nod at the bows of respect form the other alpha's on their way to the ceremony too.

When I finally made it I was Kyle standing in the back of the ceremony greeting the alphas on my behalf. I quickly thanked him taking his place. "You look great, Rue. See what a little makeup can do." He complemented me. I hit his stomach with my elbow making him shut up.

"Go grab you seat." I hissed under my breathe as I greeted one of the last alphas. I quickly walked over to the levitated white flowered platform where all the people faced. I stood there next to the small stone table with a small blade on it just as Thomas ran in and the music started.

All the people stood up and faced the back. The grass beneath them dark green. I turned my head to see just as Zeiden walking out of the woods and into my view. He was beautiful.

His skin shone brighter than ever under the creamy and soft light of the moonlight. The goddess personally shining all the light at him as he walked to me. He was wearing a black dark suit that made his soft skin stand out. His usually red-brown hair now a soft light brown messy in the wind. His eyes so dark in the night they seemed almost entirely black. I smiled at him suddenly feeling breathless.

I could hear his heart beat speed up as he got closer. I realized at that moment there that this human had captured my heart and soul since the day we meet. He was the most beautiful human and being that I had ever seen and under the moonlight he seem like something exotic. Something out of this world.

He climbed the stairs not once breaking eye contact his cheeks pink in the windy December night. I could see how nervous he was but he slowly started to relax. I signaled for the people to sit down as I turned to Zeiden holding out a hand. He slowly but surely took hold of it slightly shaking. I gave his hands a reassuring squeeze giving him a small smile.

"We are here tonight to accept Zeiden Blackfield into the Evergreen pack. As Alpha of the Evergreen pack....." I went on with the official speech unable to keep my eyes away from the clear and exposed mark on his neck. Alpha Ruedan.

I smiled proudly knowing that everyone was watching and probably noticed the mark by now. "....under the watchful eye of our moon goddess and under witness of the werewolf pack I, Ruedan Elizabeth Stone...," I picked up the small blade from the stone table swiftly cutting a long line over my palm, "accept you, Zeiden Blackfield...," I handed him the knife linking, Its okay just a little cut. He hesitatingly brought the knife down on his palm letting out a soft groan that made me clench my core under very inappropriate thoughts.

"....into the Evergreen pack." I finished grabbing hold of his hand as I felt the connection with him in me strengthen. I looked up as he gave me a wide grin feeling the connection to the pack in him.

After the ceremony ended we all headed to the backyard where the party was going to take place. Kyle came up and took Zeiden away saying they needed a man talk. Whatever that means.

Thomas came up to me once they left. "You cleaned up nice." He said looking over my clothes. I ignored his words thinking he was playing with me.

"Thanks for taking care of Zeiden, Thomas. Was he nervous?" I asked curious.

Thomas nodded sipping some champagne that he already got his hands on. "Yeah. The whole day he-"

"Sorry to interrupt but if you don't mind Alpha Rue I would like a dance." Alpha Cole cut Thomas off. He was one of the my packs allies for years. He had a decently strong pack.

I nodded to Thomas walking over to the middle of the clearing where a couple of couples had began to dance with the soft music in the background.

"Alpha Cole," I greeted as we started to dance, "what is it you wanted to discuss." I got straight to the point.

"What makes you think I want to discuss something other than just have a dance?" He asked chuckling at me.

"Well isn't that the reason you all accepted to leave you packs and come to this ceremony?" I asked bluntly. Most alphas were like ceasing any opportunity that they see to try to help themselves. I could even imagine them coming to a funeral with that exact purpose.

"You intrigue me, Alpha Rue. I had heard of your cold and heartless ways but I didn't imagine it at this level. Especially on a day like this." He looked over my shoulder as he talked.

"Yes well. I hope you aren't looking for an apology 'cause you aren't getting one." I replied.

"Don't worry. I wasn't expecting that much. Anyway you are indeed right. I planned to slowly edge my way into a discussion about the recent rouge attacks but seems like you caught me, Alpha." He said looking into my eyes.

"Well Alpha Cole I will tell you what I have told every other Alpha that asked today. These rouges will not bring down my pack so don't think about starting a fight over my land. 'Cause it will not fall anytime soon. Now if you excuse me I have somewhere to be." I said sharply stopping the dance.

"Alpha Rue-" I heard him call out but I didn't stop. I was about to begin to look for Zeiden when I heard loud voices shouting a few meters away form me. I turned to the sound. Ohh no there isn't going to be any territorial alpha fight in my land. Not today. And certainly not on my watch.

I could see the gathering of people more clearly as I got closer when I heard Kyle's loud voice, "Stand back! All of you back away." Kyle?

I pushed through my eye quickly landing on an unconscious Zeiden on the ground with Thomas above him and Kyle trying to keep the other away. Then I turned to see a shaking and about to shift Alpha Alan being held back and dragged away by my men. I immediately felt my mind connect the dots and I marched to Alpha Alan angry as hell.

My men stopped trying to drag him away when they noticed me coming. I swung back my arm and sent one hell of a punch at him. I could hear the sound of his jaw bone break under my punch. I grabbed hold of his shoulder with my other hand and brought my knee up to his stomach hard. My men let drop as he groaned in the floor holding his stomach.

Behind me I head Kyle calling my name as he rushed to me but it was too late. My eyes were already blue and my anger sky high. I pounced on him laying a round house of punches straight at him. By the time Kyle was able to pull me off he was all bloody and hardly conscious.

"Don't you ever dare touch my mate again or I will kill you!" I growled at him seeing the rest of the alphas looking at me in shock then at bloody Alpha Alan.

"Come on, Rue. They are taking Zeiden to the pack doctor. Let's go." He said. At his name I turned to see Zeiden no longer on the ground. I rushed in the pack house heading to the pack doctors rooms. I used my smelling to follow the direction Zeiden was taken with Kyle hot in my heels.

I rushed in the room to see Thomas by the door and Dr.Robert examining Zeiden. I rushed to Zeiden side gripping his free hand worriedly. This was all my fault I should have know that one of those airheads of alphas would have caused trouble.

"What is it, Doc? Is he okay?" I asked worriedly.

Dr.Robert I up at me with a warm expression. "Don't worry, Alpha. This is normal. It's a reaction of his body when he got too much stress and his memories were trying to break through. He just needs some rest. There is nothing wrong with him." He assured me but I still look at Zeiden worried. That last time he was unconscious was after that really bad day. "I am sure he will wake up tomorrow morning all okay. Here," he extended his hand holding a capsule with pills, "the worst is that he is going to have a bad headache but that's all." He smiles patting my hand when I reached for the pills.

He left the room closing the door. I turned to Kyle and Thomas angrily. "What the hell happened, you guys? He was with you when this happen. How could that Bastard Alan hit my mate, your alpha." I directed the last part at Thomas.

"Rue calm down. I was grabbing so drink and when I got back I heard Bas-Alpha Alan shouting at Zeiden some bullshit about how he shouldn't be alpha because he was human. I was about to intervene but then Alan made a comment about you and Zeiden punches him then that got Alan mad. We separated them before anything else happened but when I turned back I saw Zeiden on the ground. Then you came and went all hulk on the poor bastard." Kyle explained.

I sent Kyle a dirty look before sighing, "I am sorry guy. I shouldn't have yelled at you. It's just I feel so god damn angry that I let this happen." I said gritting my teeth.

"Rue, it's not your fault it's that Bastard Alan's fault." Thomas said pulling me into a side hug while Kyle pulled me into another on my other side. Hehe Bastard Alan you got yourself a new name.

"Plus when he wakes up he will have to face the embarrassment of what he did." Kyle imputed.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Yeah all the alphas saw you beat him down in seconds. That was so cool, Rue. High five." Kyle held his hand giving me a proud look. I shook my head at where is attention went.

"You are an idiot, Kyle." I said breaking away from those two stupid people I can't believe are my friends.

"Mason is dismissing the party downstairs." Thomas informed me as I sat down next to Zeiden. "I mean without the Alpha and guest of honor it's not really a party." He said taking a seat on the couch against the wall.

Kyle sat next to him agreeing. We spent the night in the room until Kyle had to go back to his pack and Thomas went to take care of Sam for me. I stayed right next to Zeiden wondering how he would react tomorrow when he had his memories back. Would it be a good or bad thing?
