Dhruv was in his office when he got the call from Rehan telling him to come home today evening.

He also forwarded Dhruv a link which had Dhruv shook to the core for a good few seconds.

The first thing that went to his mind was Bhabi must be furious. The next thought was , bhaiya is shit deep in trouble.

Later he had got a call from Mahika asking him to meet her. Turns out she had something very important to say. She sent him the location of a cafe near her dance academy and that was where Dhruv was right now , waiting for Mahi.

"Sorry if I made you wait too long. " Mahika said apologetically.

She was wearing a white chikankari kurta and jeans pant with heavy earrings and open hair.

"It's okay. It wasn't that long." I replied with a reassuring smile.

"Did you order anything?" She questioned.

"Nope...I was waiting for you "

"So Two ....coffees..?? " She guessed.

I nodded my head.

She called the nearest waiter and ordered politely.

"Two coffee. Thank you. "

"How is Komal? " She asked genuinely.

"She's healing. The doctors said it would take a month or so to be fully healed.

I was thinking of sponsoring her education. You know.."

"That's .... Great Dhruv. " She cut me of rolling her eyes

"Oh no..no.. I was not bragging or anything... I just wanted to let you know. She loves dance but never learned it. She wanted to learn from you that was why I was explaining. "

"Ohh... I'm sorry. I will be honoured to teach her. " She replied sheepishly.

An awkward silence followed as both didn't know what to say or do.

There coffees arrived which helped disapitate a bit of the awkwardness between them.

"Dhruv, I called you here to tell you something very important. I don't know if this is the right time but my heart tells me it is. "

He nodded.

"I... I.. want a divorce. "

Dhruv was taken aback by her statement. He was in no way offended or shocked. Just surprised.

He saw that Mahika was not looking at him and was quivering a bit as if afraid of his reaction.

"Hey". He held her hands.

"I understand." He gave her a comforting smile.

"Is there anything I can do?" He inquired in a soft tone.

She nodded.

"I need your sign. "

"Sure. Anything. "

"Is that it ? " He asked once he finished signing all the places she had shown him.

She nodded with a sigh not looking at him.

"Mahi. This is the right decision. A decision we should have taken earlier." He comforted her.

"Hmm" Mahika couldn't find enough words to reply.

"Don't hesitate to contact me for anything more. I am happy to do anything to make this comfortable for both of us. "

He made her look at him as she was still avoiding his eyes.

"Mahi please remember. I know I have been a complete asshole to you and that you will never trust me anymore. But I really wanted to change. I still do. I know there is nothing I can do to repent for what I have done to our friendship so I am hoping to start afresh. "

"I don't want to lose this friendship again and I will never want to lose you but if you feel like you can't do that then I won't stop you in no way.

Just know that I love you in my own way. No strings attached. Okay? "

Her eyes were glassy and her lower lip was wobbling a bit.

Dhruv pinched her cheeks.

"Now show me that ugly crooked grin of yours. "

She smiled a bit at his comment.

"There's the Ms shortie I know. "

"Thank you for understanding. " She sighed.

"It's the least I can do. "

"Do you want me to drop you ?"

"Actually I am going to the mansion. Rehan called me there. "

"Wait he called me too. " That was .... Strange?

"Let's go together then. " Mahi offered.

Somehow the awkwardness was gone. They had an understanding and for the first time their hearts felt a bit lighter.

For Mahi, it was time to live for herself a bit.

For Dhruv, it was his first step towards mending his broken relations.

As they entered the mansion, they saw Veer's car also pulling in.

Both the couple got out of the car at the same time , then went towards each other.

"Hello bhabhi " he said going in for a hug.

"Hello to you too." Dhwani replied giving into the hug.

Dhwani was a person Dhruv had learned to love and respect. He was not as close to her as Rehan but still he looked upto her and the eldest Bahu of the house.

"How are you Mahi?" Dhwani asked with a smile.

"Good jiji. " Mahi replied cheekily. She was always excited to see her jiji.

Veer gave a nod to Mahi and went inside the house without even looking at Dhruv's face.

They were still not acknowledging each other's existence.

Dhruv wanted to apologise but didn't know how to. He was ashamed of facing his brother again after what he did.

The one person he hated the most in this world was himself. He sure knew how to mess up and destroy anything and everything .

Dhruv followed Veer into the house and went towards his room to freshen up.

"What happened between these two?" Dhwani asked Mahika to which she shrugged.

"Apparently they fought with each other and the 'children' refuse to accept , apologize and move on." Rehan said coming towards them.

"Kaisi ho bhabhi?" He crushed her in a bear hug.

"Never been better. How was your trip?" Her words were filled with love and warmth only a sister could give. She had missed him.

"The best I have ever had. " He replied with a dreamy glint in his eyes.

She gave him a knowing smile.

"Someone's in love. " Mahi teased.

"Oyy nobody asked you" he retorted slapping her head lightly.

"Ouch" she said offended.

To be completely honest, Dhwani had missed this house and how there was always some noise going around it. Either the bustling of the staff or the chirping of the birds.

She missed THE Raghav Singhania whom the entire business world looked upto in respect , whom she had looked upto as her father figure.

She missed Mahi and her childish antics.

She missed the tea Chachi and her used to share every evening.

She missed the very annoying yet somehow comforting shadow of dadi.

She missed him and most of all she missed the old her.

It was too late to do anything now. The walls that she had built around her were essential. They were the structure that was holding her up and not break into a thousand little pieces.

"Why are you children standing there? Come in. " Chachi called from inside.

"Why didn't you tell me all of them were coming home? It's been such a long time since all six if you were here together. I haven't prepared anything." Chachi complained.

"Chachi relax. It's okay " Mahi said with a smile. Her heart filled with warmth everytime she talked about them with so much care.

"Exactly and don't worry about the food. We will order pizza or something " Rehan said giving her a thumbs up.

"These children and their eating habits. God knows where this is going...." She mumbled.

"Look who's here. Didn't my grandson divorce you. Then why are you still here?"

"Ma " Chachi looked at dadi shocked.

"Actually dadi , they are not divorced yet which means she is still the daughter in law of this family. Too bad I know. " Rehan replied with fake sympathy.

Dadi stormed out if their fuming with Chachi following her, leaving them alone in the hall.

There was a sudden tension in the air.

"It's okay " Dhwani assures them.

They seated themselves in the sofas arranged their.

"What did you say about that fight between Dhruv and Veer Bhai?" Mahi asked Rehan as she tied her hair into a loose bun.

"Actually I didn't say anything. "

"Rehan " Dhwani gave him a warning look.

Rehan was intelligent enough to not mess around anymore and told them what had happened that day without leaving any details.

The moment Rehan finished telling them about the incident Dhruv came down to the hall , unknowing of what had transpired there.

"You yelled at bhai? " Mahi asked furiously.

"Chachi slapped you?" Dhwani asked worriedly.

Both at the same time.

Dhruv turned to Rehan and gave him a ' I will take care of you later' glare.

"Actually woh. "

"How are you behaving like this Dhruv? Now you are taking out your anger on your brother? And that too by vilely accusing him. " Mahika was burning him down with her eyes.

"Mahi.." Dhwani stopped her , keeping a hand on her shoulder.

"What do you have to say Dhruv?" Dhwani asked turning to him.

"I regret everything Bhabhi and I deserved that slap. "

"Did you apologize?" Dhwani asked Dhruv.

He shook his head in a no.

Mahi scoffed at his reaction.

Dhwani patted the seat beside her , gesturing him to sit.

He sat beside her , his head hanging low in shame.

Whatever he had said that day was not only an insult to Veer but also to Dhwani. Alas he didn't have that much sense then.

"Why didn't you apologize yet?" Dhwani asked softly.

"I don't know how to. " He replied, his voice breaking.

"However hard I try , I end up ruining everything. I don't deserve his forgiveness. "

"Dhruv , you don't have a say in whether you deserve forgiveness or not. Elders are there to forgive the ones younger than them. I know Veer. He would have been hurt by your words and a bit angry. But deep down he would be more saddened by the fact that you didn't apologize. "

"It's always easy to break something but it's harder to mend it. This applies to everything. "

Dhruv nodded his head understanding.

"Then what are you waiting here for. Go. " Rehan pushed him of the sofa.

Dhruv glared at Rehan and then proceeded to go upstairs to their study guessing that's where Veer would be. And he was right.

Dhruv knocked on the door thrice then called out. " Bhaiya?"

"Hmm"

"I am sorry. "

"It's okay. " Veer replied his entire demeanour stoic.

"Bhai truly. I am sorry. "

"I told you right. It's okay. " yet Veer still refused to look at him.

Dhruv's voice was breaking by now.

Veer resisted the urge to hug him and comfort him.

" Please say that you forgive me bhaiya. I really am sorry. I was afraid to come to you. I didn't know how to apologise. I didn't mean anything I said. I am sorry. I love you Bhai. I am sorry. "

Veer could here the truth in his words. He could also here him sniffling as he apologized.

Veer turned around and pulled him into a hug not resisting the urge anymore.

" I love you too. I love you too. "

Rehan looked at him brothers with adoration and love enjoying the moment while it lasts.

The bond between brothers were something nothing in this world could parallel.

"Come over here chotte" veer said signing him to come forward.

The three of them had forgot how it felt to have the shadow of their brothers with them and they tried to recollect those emotions again.

*Click*

They broke their hugs and turned towards the sound.

"What? That was really sweet. " Arya shrugged nonchalantly. Dhwani and Mahika were also there awing at the sight.

"When did you reach?" Rehan asked her.

"A few minutes ago. "

There was a comfortable silence between the six if them.

"I'm hungry. " Mahi said breaking it.

All of us chuckled.

They went downstairs and the men ordered pizza while the women went to change into comfortable clothes.

"We need to do something about the whole tabloid fiasco" Rehan started as they were eating.

"Sorry the what now?" Arya asked confused.

"Didn't you check your phone?" Rehan inquired.

"Well no. I was in the hospital. You know some people have work, teacher. " She retorted.

"I am a freaking professor damnit " Rehan replied offended to which Arya smirked and he glared.

They were having a full fledged conversation through their eyes which was broken by Mahika.

"Can you both stop?" Mahi asked. "Continue your Romance when you guys are alone. "

"So as I was saying , day after tomorrow we have the yearly Singhania charity gala. "

"I am so lost right now. " Arya said confused.

"It's this party that we arrange every year to collect funds for different NGO's. It is also the day Singhania industries started. It's a big media event. " Dhruv explained.

"Exactly. It's a big media event. You guys can show up together and give them a few words and that would be the end of it. " Rehan said simplifying his plan.

"That's actually a great idea. " Veer nodded agreeing with him.

"It is Rehan but I don't know if I want to prove them wrong. This could be a blessing in disguise. The public will know eventually. "

All of them nodded understanding the reason in her point.

"I just wanted to remind you guys about this. Rest is your descision"

"Wait is this for the entire family or something cause I swear to god I don't have anything to wear. " Arya interjected worriedly.

"Did you hear anything else here??" Rehan teased and she made a funny face at it.

"Don't worry we can go shopping. " Mahi said excitedly.

"I'm good. " Dhwani hurriedly said. She was never a fan of shopping. She loved Mahi but shopping with her was a nightmare.

"Bhaiyya?" Mahi called Veer

"Is it the same boring menu this year? Please add something new and full of variety na" she said in a whiny tone.

"Bhaiyya I'm warning you. Don't take advice from a person eating pineapple pizza. " Dhruv warned Veer.

"Oyy hello Mr , it's not my problem that you don't have taste. "

The rest of them laughed at their bickering.

"Let him tease you Mahi. I'll tell them to add something new. "

Mahi gave a giddy clap and showed Dhruv her tongue.

The six people in that room , all had differences of their own but at that one moment they didn't care. They were happy to put aside those differences and enjoy the moment. Because that's what family is for.

To pull you in close even when you try to get away.

It was really late when they finished eating and talking and basically just hanging out.

All the house helps had gone home and they didn't want to disturb anyone by waking them up.

So it was decided that they would clean up the mess themselves.

Rehan was washing the dishes when Arya hugged him from behind.

Dhruv and Mahi were cleaning the hall of all the boxes and wrappers.

"Did I do something? Why are you suddenly so loving?" Rehan teased Arya.

"Can't I hug my husband now?" Arya asked playing offended.

Rehan turned around keeping the last plate away.

"Of course you can. You have the right to do anything with your husband but personally I would not encourage betrayal , torture and murder. " He said counting the points with his fingers.

She laughed and side hugged him then together they walked towards the hall to see Mahi trying hard to not fall asleep and Dhruv on a call with someone.

We have to bring them together somehow. Rehan whispered to Arya as they looked at Veer and Dhwani sitting as far as they could from one another doing something on their phone.

Don't worry we will think of something. She replied giving him a small reassuring kiss.
