Dhwani and Veer were walking through their favourite spot for a date night. They loved to explore the forts and places of Rajasthan together.
The Hawa Mahal brought back memories of their first date and the jaigarh fort always made happy as it reminded her of Veer professing his love to her.
They seated themselves by a garden overlooking the Dravyavati river. There weren't many people there giving them their much needed privacy.
"You think Rehan will be able to handle him?" Veer asked all of a sudden sounding worried.
"Of course he will. He's just a sweet little boy after all" Dhwani assured.
"Yes he is " in front of his mother. But Veer didn't add that.
He loved his son but he was a mischievous little demon until he's in the presence of his mother or Chachi's. Then he transforms into a cute little angel.
They weren't complaining though. He was the light and joy of the mansion now.
Dhwani was worried too. About leaving him with Rehan. She thought about that one time she left Dheeraj under the brother's care as the bahus went out for a girls day. Dhwani and Arya were tired of juggling their personal and professional life and Mahika was in Rajasthan for some days. She too was busy these days with her dance and the academy.
The three of them decided to take a one day break, leaving Dheeraj under the care of the brothers.
The siblings and their partners together had reached a descision to avoid babysitters and paparazzi in the life of their children. They wanted to raise the children by themselves with complete privacy and the six of them would be together in it.
After catching up on everything and breathing normally for sometime they had decided to get back home.
They came back to the sight of the living room covered by toys of all kind and snacks scattered all around but the 4 boys were nowhere to be found.
They had searched the entire house and the sight they came across in Dheeraj's bedroom had the three of the awwing.
The three men were sleeping with Rehan in between and Dheeraj was sleeping on his chest.
They took out their phones and clicked as many pictures as they could. The best one was later on framed and adorned on one wall of the study which was starting to fill up with pictures of similar kind.
Snapshots of the family they were creating.
"Are you happy Veer?" Dhwani asked turning her gaze to him.
He could see the underlying insecurities in her warm brown eyes.
"What kind of question is that?" Veer questioned her back pulling her more towards him by a side hug.
"Just answer it. " she shrugged.
"More than I can express. What more can I ask ? I already have a loving wife and the best son. I feel like the luckiest person in the world.
"Now let me enjoy the view" he said grinning gazing at her with pure adoration.
A comfortable silence followed as they both sat their enjoying the sunset , content in each other's arms.
One year ago
"And that's the last of all the formalities" the warden said with a smile.
Veer and Dhwani looked at each other with hope and happiness.
After months of paper work they were ready to bring their baby home.
That day in the hospital, the moment they realised they could never lose the other person, they called Karthik and told him to take back the divorce petition and gave him another file , one of adoption.
Everyone was overjoyed with the turn of events, well except Ursula, sorry Ambika Singhania. She was sure that she had seen the last of Dhwani but things didn't turn out the way she wished.
"There's one more thing. " The warden said her demeanour turning grave.
"There's some things you need to know. I didn't know how to explain it as you both were adamant on having him. ",
" Ladoo wasn't abandoned or taken in like most cases. He was sent here by the state. His mother was married to a drunkard against her will and he died the same day the boy was born. The mother considered him to be an ill omen and became an alcoholic herself. When we got the child , he was abused to a point were his entire skin was covered by bruises and belt marks."
A silent gasp escaped Dhwani's lips.
"He might not remember most of this but his body still does. He gets panic attacks and nightmares more often than any other children in this orphanage and his body takes time to get used to people. "
"I would have recommended some other child but both of you were hell bent on .. " before she could complete Veer interuppted
"We have already decided. He deserves the love and care "Â Dhwani nodded along.
"I know. But it's my duty to inform you about these. "
"Shall we go meet him? " she gestured them to follow her.
"Hey ladoo " Dhwani greeted him.
He was sitting on him bed with a bag in his hand.
"Hi" he replied gloomily
"Why are you sad?" She asked sitting beside him.
"The sister told me some people were here to take me. " he answered
"Don't you want them to? "
He shrugged
"What if we took you to our home instead?"
"Really?" He got up from the bed excited and started jumping up and down overjoyed.
"Aaram se. You'll get hurt. " Dhwani laughed as she tried to get him to stand still.
"That means I call you mumma?" He asked. His blue orbs were wide with amazement and innocence.
Dhwani couldn't find any words. She nodded and picked him up , holding him close to her heart.
*
"Let's head back home. It's getting late. " Dhwani said breaking the sweet silence.
"Hmm. "
Once they got into the car , Dhwani asked ,
"Veer are you sure you are not forgetting something? "
"No. Am I ? Did I leave my wallet there ? "
"No no just asking. "
The whole mansion was unusually silent and dark as they entered.
Suddenly all the lights were switched on and a small figure collided into him yelling
"Papaaa"
He picked up Dheeraj who had a hundred watt smile on him face.
"This is for the person who , sorry dad , was my mother and father. The one person because of which me and my Bhai is standing here proud, the reason of Singhania enterprises and the reason I got my Bhabhi. "
Veer turned towards the owner of the voice with a slight smile.
Rehan was grinning from ear to ear
"Happy Birthday Bhaiyya "
All the people who cared for him were there. His family, his employees even Sita.
"When did you arrange all this ?" He asked turning towards his wife.
She leaned forward and gave him a peck on the lips.
"Happy Birthday "

They were lying on the bed tired after the party. Dheeraj had fallen asleep halfway and Dhwani had taken it as a chance to free herself from the crowd.
For Dhwani she couldn't ask for anything more. She loved the men in her life with all her heart. Dheeraj was the apple of her eyes. She couldn't go even one day without him in her arms atleast once.
Everytime he called her Mumma, the vaccum that once occupied her heart filled itself with love and compassion.
When Veer reached the room both his wife and son were already asleep. He changed into comfortable clothes and laid beside them.
As if sensing his warmth both the mother and son snuggled closer to him
Veer loved the new phase of his life and the new responsibilities of a father. Spending time with his son after a tired day was a like a breath of fresh air. They loved to annoy Dhwani to the complete extend of her patience.
But the evil little angel always melted her heart in turn the entire scoldings going to him.
What they say are true.
A house becomes a complete home when a child enters into the life of the people in it. After a tire full day of work the first person Arya and Rehan went to was Ladoo. He was also in some way the cupid between Mahika and Dhruv.
Even though everyone loved him with everything they had they still made it their priority not pamper him too much.
They made sure he had all the values their mother had ingrained into them.
Life had never felt more beautiful , more perfect than this as Veer gazed at his wife and son sleeping in his arms.
â
A cute small chapter.
I love ladoo and you will love him more in the coming stories.
