âWhy the hurry?â Katie eased into a seat.
âI havenât even shared what Iâm looking for yet.
â
Professionally, Raegan asked, âAnd what exactly are you looking for, Miss Glyn?â
âIâm here for a customized engagement dress.
â Noticing Raeganâs reaction, Katie seemed to perk up.
With a smug look, she rubbed her stomach.
âAnd if I like how it turns out, I might just get my wedding dress from this studio as well!â
After Katie finished her piece, she stood there full of pride, clearly expecting Raegan to inquire about her engagement.
But Raeganâs reaction was anything but curious.
She said, âAlright, Miss Glyn, feel free to let me know what you need.
â
Katie was surprised by Raeganâs disinterest.
How could Raegan not want to know more?
This indifference made it tough for Katie to segue into the decision the board made about Mitchel.
Irritated, Katie challenged Raegan, âWhy the hurry? Do you think I canât cover the cost?â
âs BunnyBookery Raegan offered a smile.
âI have other clients waiting.
Weâre in the business of tailoring dresses, not small talk.
If you are looking for a chat, maybe a café would be better.
â
Usually, Raegan wasnât this blunt with her clients, but Katie had cornered her more than once, which made pleasantries unnecessary.
Katie, truth be told, wasnât here to place an order.
The thought of wearing something customized by Raegan was unbearable.
âI said Iâm here to place an order!â Katie announced.
Raegan quirked an eyebrow.
âCustom orders do start with a deposit.
â
âHow much does it cost?â Katie inquired.
âTen percent.
â
Without hesitation, Katie paid with her card and stated, âPlease deliver the dress to the Dixon Group for signing once itâs ready.
The remaining payment will come from the Dixon Groupâs accounts.
â
She doubted Raegan could keep her composure upon hearing this.
However, Raegan responded with a smile, âOf course, Miss Glyn.
â She showed no sign of displeasure.
Katie couldnât hold back any longer and steered the conversation.
âMiss Foster, were you aware the Dixon Group went through a significant staff change today?â
Looking up, Raegan asked, âMiss Glyn, do you have a preference for white or red?â
Katie was visibly upset, her teeth gritted.
That Little bitch didnât give an answer! âIt doesnât matter.
Prepare both.
Iâve already paid, so Iâll decide later.
â
Raegan collected all the necessary details and stood up, saying slowly, âIâll get the design sketches over to you in a week or so.
Just a heads-up, weâre open to making changes to the designs, but we canât take them back once theyâre done, and the deposit wonât be returned.
â
It was a fair policy.
After all, sometimes the sketches alone were worth more than the dress itself.
Plus, as long as everyone agreed to it upfront, there wouldnât be any issues.
