"WAKE UP!" someone screamed in my ear.

I immediately jolted out of bed.

"What the hell?" I instantly sat up alarmed at the loud noise, opening my eyes to see Chantelle.

"This better be important" I grumbled too sleepy to talk.

"First day of school you dummy" Chantelle reminded me in a duh tone.

"Not that important" I mumbled snuggling back in my warm and cozy bed.

"Yes it is. Now get dressed. You don't want to be late on your first day" Chantelle went on.

Chantelle then realised that I had ignored her and started to doze off, she wasn't pleased so she pulled the quilt off me.

"Too cold" I groaned hugging myself trying to get warmer. But it was unfortunately doing absolutely nothing.

I have to admit, one of my greatest talents is procrastination. So doing anything is hard especially when I spend more time procrastinating.

"Get up" Chantelle warned in a dangerous tone that sounded so much like Xavier.

One of the perks of having leader genes.

"Jesus, I'm up, ok? No need to yell" I grumbled. I made my way to my bathroom and had a shower.

"Avery, I left your clothes on the bed" Chantelle yelled over the running water.

"Thank you mother" I replied sarcastically.

"Anything for you dear" Chantelle replied in a motherly tone.

I rolled my eyes and turned the shower off. I grabbed the fluffy white towel and wrapped it around my body and I instantly relaxed. Realising that I can't stay in here for a while as Chantelle would probably drag me to school with only a towel on if I was late. Yeah sounds like Chantelle.

I peeked my head out of the door and checked that no one was there. When there was no sign of anyone I grabbed the clothes and ran back to the bathroom.

I looked at the clothes and hummed in approval. Well at least Chantelle has similar taste to me. She chose a pair of denim jeans and a white cropped knitted top. I paired it with a gold necklace and a black leather belt as I pulled my hair into a ponytail. I slid on the doc martins and left the bathroom, where Chantelle sat on my bed with an annoyed look on her face.

"Finally, I thought you diedor something" Chantelle over exaggerated.

"That would be a shame" I replied back with a smile.

"Well at least I wouldn't be late for school" Chantelle mumbled under her breath putting the magazine in the drawer and grabbing her handbag.

She flipped her hair dramatically at me and walked out.

I rolled my eyes at her dramatic exit and followed her out of the room.

I walked down the stairs and stopped on the last step when I saw Xavier, Richard, Steve and a few other guys standing in the middle of the doorway. I looked at Chantelle who was opposite me and gave her a questionable look.

They seemed to be in a serious conversation, even Richard with an unreadable expression plastered on his face..

"Well, we ladies better get going. It's Avery's first day of school!" Chantelle interrupted excitingly which caught the attention of everyone and soon all of their eyes were on me.

Mental note: kill Chantelle.

"Yeah, and since this day is so special and an important milestone in my life, I reckon you should take a photo of me standing at the door with my school bag on" I replied in an overenthusiastic tone.

Richard turned to Steve, "Is she serious?" he asked Steve in a low tone yet judging by everyone's expression, they had all heard.

"Don't I get a hug from my little brother?" Chantelle asked.

"Get lost" Xavier replied walking upstairs not even bothering to look at her.

I zoned out of the conversation as I opened up my Instagram page where a photo from Josh popped up. It was a photo of him with his girlfriend on a date with a gorgeous scenery. He looked so happy.

I wanted to tell him all about this, yet I knew I couldn't. Knowing he'd come here and get himself killed. And I'd be ruining his trip. I couldn't take that away from him. I shook off all of the emotions as I turned off my phone knowing the right choice.

"Fine then be that way" Chantelle replied and walked out of the house slamming the door.

"Bye" I smiled to Steve and Richard. Steve nodded and Richard waved.

"Good luck" Richard said punching my shoulder lightly.

I made my way outside to find a normal car not a limo. Thank the Lord.

"Hi! I'm Laura. It's nice to meet you. Oh my gosh we are gonna have so much fun. We can go shopping together and we can-" A girl with blond hair talked excitingly to me linking arms with me.

"Jeez Laura. We talked about this. Don't scare her off. Gosh" Chantelle gave Laura a look.

"Right sorry" Laura replied sheepishly at me.

I waved it off, "It's fine, I'm Avery" I said holding my hand out to her.

Laura smiled widely at me showing her perfectly white teeth. For some reason this girl just screams perfection.

Laura was about to shake my hand when Chantelle walked in the middle of our hand shake.

"Ladies introductions later, but now we must head to school" Chantelle said pushing us to the car.

Since the front was a three seater I sat in the middle, Laura sat on my left and Chantelle drove.

"So do tell me how did you get here?" Laura asked with anticipation.

I knew she wanted to know why I came to this school. For some reason telling her that my dad who's now dead sold me to a gang who kidnapped me and is still holding me captive and the leader sent me to this school didn't seem like a normal answer.

"By car" I replied truthfully.

"Really!? That must've been so cool" Laura exclaimed.

"Yes it was! It even had a radio" I replied just as excited.

"Oh my gosh did it have leather seats?" Chantelle asked.

"Don't even get me started on the leather seats!" I replied.

We were interrupted when Chantelle turned the radio up to full volume making us full on glare at her.

"Ooh I love this song!' Laura said starting to sing to it in her very bad high pitched singing voice. I take back the perfection part.

I saw Chantelle's mouth slightly twitch up and she started singing to it as well.

I smiled at my friends beautiful singing voices. I grabbed my earphones out of my bag and started listening to my music from my phone. Although my phone was also on full blast you could still hear their singing voices in the background.

Chantelle turned down the music when we entered a parking lot to the school.

"You are going to love it here!" Laura's voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"And you still have to meet the rest" Chantelle said.

"The rest?" I asked.

"Yeah, there's six of us including you now" Chantelle replied.

I waited for Laura to get out before I slid off the seats.

I looked around to see students everywhere. This is one place I never missed.

"Lets show you around" Laura linked arms with me followed by Chantelle linking arms with my other side.

"So this is where youstudy" Chantelle said pointing to a library

"That's weird, I thought you study out on the oval" I said pretending to think.

Chantelle rolled her eyes at me and led me to the oval where training was commencing.

"This is where the jocks and cheerleaders always hang out" Chantelle said pointing to the oval where cheerleaders practiced and jocks threw around some footballs.

Half of them looked our way.

"Oh my god they're looking at me!" Laura said sounding like she's about to faint.

"No their looking at Avery" Chantelle pointed out rolling her eyes at Laura.

"Yeah right'" I gave Chantelle a pointed look not believing her.

I then realised that some of them were checking me out.

"Pervs" I muttered to myself but only Chantelle and Laura heard.

Chantelle waved to one of them.

I smiled at them and winked before leaving, Chantelle right by my side whilst Laura stood there like a lost puppy.

So how was this very long chapter? Boring I know but it is Avery's first day of her new school so it was just about getting to know it. Next chapter you'll be meeting the rest of her friends.

Also I made a new cover for this book. What are your thoughts on It?

I will be updating in one more week.
