I plopped down on Chantelle's bed waiting for her to pick a dress. Tonight is Chantelle's date with Duncan as I tried to get rid of the knot in my stomach.
I finally got up from her bed to check on her when I haven't seen her in a while.
I walked into the closet and gasped at the mess. There was no floor in sight, just clothes piled on top.
Chantelle looked as though she was having a meltdown.
I grabbed her by the shoulders and slightly pushed her out of the closet. She was about to disagree but sagged her shoulders in defeat when she realised there was no point.
I turned around back to where the mess sat and started looking at the dresses. After a few minutes I decided on black jeans with a white bodysuit and a denim jacket. I then finished the look with black lace boots.
I gave it to Chantelle and plopped back down on her bed.
I decided to check my phone to see if Duncan had left anything opened from the other night, knowing though that everyone gets rid of everything they've done. Including browser history. Yet there was no harm in trying.
I was surprised to find my phone details were the first to pop up. That's weird. I thought that he was searching things up. After staring at my phone in deep though I shrugged off the thoughts that kept running in my mind and turned around when I heard boots clicking on the marble floor.
I looked her up and down nodding approvingly at my work and a proud look crossed my face.
"What do you think?" She started as I was about to speak. "Do I look ugly? Does it look like I'm trying too hard? I honestly think that I should change it-" Chantelle blabbered on.
I interrupted her frantic state."You look hot. You are no way in hell changing"
She checked her outfit again and blew out a sigh. "I'm sorry, I'm justgetting really nervous, he means a lot to me"
I couldn't seem to understand why he meant so much to her. He's honestly a jerk. But Chantelle seems happy and I need to respect her wishes. So I decided to put aside my pride for tonight.
"I understand" I smiled encouragingly. "Now have fun, you deserve this"
I curled her hair and touched up on her makeup.
There was a loud knock on the door indicating that he was here. Chantelle gave me a nervous yet excited look.
"May I escort you to the front door?" I bowed trying to get rid of her nervs. What? It was the only thing I could think of.
Chantelle played along and nodded her head. "You may" Chantelle giggled.
We made our way to the front door, Chantelle frantically skipping. I don't even understand how she can skip in those boots. The heels are so thin and tall. I'd probably fall and die. Unfortanetly.
Chantelle opened the door letting the cool breeze inside.
Outside stood Duncan in a handsome tuxedo as he grasped a bouquet of roses. I hated to admit it, but it was kinda cute.
"Chantelle" Duncan greeted with an unreadable expression. He gave Chantelle the flowers making Chantelle's eyes go wide in excitement.
"Thank you Duncan" Chantelle said with admiration.
Duncan set his eyes on me.
"Avery" Duncan greeted in a more excited tone.
"Duncan" I replied in a slightly bored tone.
Duncan tensed as a figure walked past me but stopped to look at him.
"Duncan" I heard Xavier say surprised.
Whoops looks like someonedidn't tell him. One thing I learnt is to never get in the way pf siblingdrama. Yet others seem to always get dragged into it anyway.
"Xavier, long time no see" Duncan replied his grip on the railing tightened.
"They're going on a date" I whispered excitingly to Xavier.
Xavier's eyes went wide as a furious look crossed his face.
Chantelle took note of that. "Ok well we better get going" Chantelle walked out of the door linking arms with Duncan's.
Xavier was about to walk past me probably to talk to her but I held out my arm stopping Xavier.
"Don't" I warned Xavier. Knowing Xavier, he'd probably start a fight. "It's just one date" I reassured Xavier as he took in my words yet glared at Duncan.
"Be back by midnight" I raised my eyebrow at Chantelle.
"Yes mother" Chantelle replied smiling at me.
They started heading out and I shut the door turning back to Xavier.
"Why wasn't I aware of this?" Xavier asked in a deadly tone, directed towards me.
I gasped. "Are you seriously angry at me!?"
I wasn't kidding when I said others seem to get dragged into the sibling drama.
"Look Chantelle looks happy, and I have no say in who Chantelle can and cannot date" I replied in a furious tone.
I continued my rant. "Plus if we are to be going behind her back we need to make it seem perfectly normal. If we said no she'll no something is going on and will start asking questions"
He seemed taken back by my tone as he raised a brow at me.
"Are you done?" He asked.
My mouth went wide as I tried to not snap at him.
He didn't wait for my answer, if anything he didn't care.
"We have more pressing matters right now. My office" Xavier said bluntly.
I fought the urge to roll my eyes. "But-"
"Now" Xavier towered over me and walked to his office not giving me the chance to disagree.
I didn't bother to knock as the door was slightly open so I walked in and sat on the chair.
"What did you find about Duncan?"
I thought for a minute. What did I find about Duncan? I probably should have paid more attention.
"Ok let's see" I started with a bright smile. "lives in a modern two story house, lives alone, has no pictures of his family who apparently died in a car crash when he was little-" I continued but stopped when he leaned forward slightly interested.
"What?" I asked.
Xavier covered the look with his cold stare. '"Nothing. Continue"
I stared at Xavier a little longer before continuing. "-and that's pretty much all. Apart from the unusual things like him snooping on my phone and going into my personal details"
"Are you going over to his house anytime soon?" Xavier asked.
"Tomorrow night" I replied as Xavier wrote something down.
"Did he tell you anything else about his family?" Xavier asked looking for further information.
I scrunched my face up in confusion. "No. Is there anything that I should know?" I asked.
"No. Leave" Xavier lied avoiding my eyes.
I've got a feeling that he's hiding something.
And I'm about to find out.

I yawned for about the 10th time as I continued to listen to Chantelle blubber on. Last night Chantelle came back at about 3am and interrupted my sleep. Talking all about her date. From what I heard I think that her date went well. Because I kinda zoned out. What can I say, it was 3 am and I am really tired.
I didn't really mind though because I was thinking about Duncan and Xavier. I know that Xavier's hiding something but I don't know what it is.
"Earth to Avery" I heard Chantelle as she waved her arms around catching my attention.
"Mhm?" I asked blinking my eyes.
"You zoned out again didn't you?" Chantelle asked putting her hands on her hips.
I sighed. "I'm sorry it's just that it's 3am and I'm really tired"
Chantelle gave me an sorry look. "No that's my fault. I'm the one that woke you up so late"
"So early you mean" I mumbled. Isn't that amazing? It's so early in the morning and my brain can still function properly.
Chantelle rolled her eyes. "Same thing"

Laura texted us earlier saying she was coming with someone else. So that means there is one less person to pick up. Chantelle drove whilst I kinda slept in the car.
"So Duncan said that you are going over to his house tonight" Chantelle spoke glancing me a look.
I frowned. '"He told you that?" I sat back in my seat finally interested in the conversation.
"He actually talked a lot about you. You guys must be getting on really well" Chantelle replied like it was nothing.
Why would Duncan talk about me on his date with Chantelle?
Their date should only really be about him.
I couldn't help but pass a worry look to Chantelle.
She raised a brow confused. "What?"
I gave her a concerned look. "Nothing, just be careful please?"
She looked at me with a confused look before returning her eyes to the road.
I'm really starting to regret agreeing to this deal.

Hey guysss how was this chapter? A little boring but the next chapter is going to have a lot of drama so hang in there for another two weeks. Thank you to the people that waited the whole two weeks, I know it's a long time but I really appreciate it. Updating in two more weeks.
