Chapter Seven

The world is too small

- Four Years Later -

× ANANYA ×

Four years passed so quickly since I escaped my wedding. Well, not so quickly, because only I know how hard it was for a while. Without parents, without friends and without any contacts. Without anyone. It was Ananya handling Ananya.

I was very much on my own. I am on my own. And I'm happy to be honest.

Though I did make some friends but only one lasted with me, Kirti. I met her when I decided to continue my college, we were roommates. But if you ask from where did I get the money, all thanks to the guests who gifted money in my wedding or my parents who bought jewellery as a gift to the groom's side. Not dowry, okay? It was gift.

It's better that I took it and used it for some good purpose or else it would rot in the groom's family as a compensation for my sudden disappearance and for their loss of respect or whatever. And also thanks to the amount of part time jobs I did. They were tiring but I had to survive.

But now finally, my hard work paid off. One of the best companies of Mumbai offered me the job I always wanted, in an advertising firm. I have worked as an intern before but now the post is mine. I might not be the head but it was my dream coming true.

And after years, through internet my brother finally found me. It's a good thing that he was never bad, he was supportive. He didn't blame me for leaving the wedding but definitely blamed me for not contacting him earlier.

And do you know a fact? My dad never cared to inform my brother that his sister was getting married. My dad knew that Amar would stop him and he also knew that he could not say no to his favourite son. So he decided to keep it a secret.

However, Now Amar Bhai  decided to visit India as soon as he can. He promised me that he'll not inform our parents or anyone but rather will just help me out even if the help contains only staying with me. He was sure he can not leave me alone, but as a matter of fact I was alone, for the first year.  Later when I met Kirti, she never made me feel lonely except for the times she was with her family at her home.

[Bhai= Brother]

Now we both are applying in the same company and we even decided to stay together, even in Mumbai. We both were very much co dependent on each other. Even her mother once suggested us to get married to brothers so we will be forever together. She didn't even give it a thought whereas sometimes I think it would be fun, but also a disaster.

Yeah I'm not good at telling one story at a time, I will add three four short ones in between. So yeah, Amar Bhai, is going to arrive in India today, he'll stay with me for some time but then eventually have to go back.

My attention went towards the car who came directly in front of me from the wrong side of the road, and hit my scooty within a flash of second.  I didn't even get time to digest what happened.

Maybe this is the end. This is how you die, Ananya. You didn't even get a chance to enjoy your job for a single day. You will be remembered in history as the girl who ran away from her wedding and the one who fought a lot with almost every one. Because apart from that you did nothing great in life.

I opened my eyes after a minute passed to check if I reached heaven. But heaven doesn't include me being surrounded by people sitting in the ground not so comfortably and my scooty lying on the other side. The owner of the car which bashed into my scooty came out from the car and looked at me with angry eyes.

How dare he give me angry looks when he was the one who hit me?

" If you girls don't know how to drive then why do you try?! " He shouted and my eyes widened.

He uses the wrong side. He hits my scooty. I am lying on the ground. I am hurt. And yet he dares to shout at me. Why do I always meet these people?

I stood up on my own while my wrist hurted like hell. Some people even removed their phones out to record what was happening.

Oh my god, what is happening to this world?

" Excuse me, it wasn't me who used the wrong side. It was you. You should thank God that this wasn't a big accident or else you would be probably bribing me to not to file a complaint against you" I replied.

" What about the god damn scratch you gave my car? " He told pointing towards the small scratch.

" You have guts to care about your stupid car whereas here a person is hurt? You practically dropped something when you hit my scooty. Here it is. Your brain " I said and bent to pick up his imaginary brain and literally threw it on his side making a face.

" Do you know who I am? " The typical rich brat threat he gave me and I rolled my eyes.

" I don't even want to " I replied and shot him a nasty look.

" Agh, you girls are so irritating " he muttered.

Such a sexist jerk!

" Agh, you guys who can never accept your mistakes " I muttered copying his tone.

When he gave me a look I just gave him a tight lipped smile.

" So now are you going to pay for the damage you caused to my scooty? " I asked a question I already knew the answer to.

The guy who cannot accept his mistake will put hands in his pocket to pay? Nah.

" Why would I pay? You should pay to me " he said and I clapped.

" Wait, I'll not pay you but I can surely  make you pay  " I threatened him back.

The habit of mine of threatening people as if I have three four bunglows under my name, two bodyguards who follows me everywhere I go and keeps me safe from trouble, a gang of goons who will hide the body when I give them money, some loaded guns and knifes in my house, will put me in danger one day. Sadly, I don't have any bodyguards. and more sadly I don't have money to afford the goons.

I am unarmed but I behave as if I run some armed forces.

Anyways, Mafia queen Ananya, I am. Bow to the queen.

" Do you even know who Randeep Chadda is? " He asked, his voice loud and dominating. I just shook my head.

" Sounds like an uncle-ish, villain-ish name. But how did he come in between this conversation? Did he go missing or something? I might threaten you like I have some goons stored but no, I don't know where he is, okay "

Mafia Queen Ananya was not scared okay. She was not scared.

" I am Randeep Chadda " he declared as if it was a world famous, house hold name.

Who is he?  Don't tell me he is a real Mafia King unlike Queen Ananya.

I've read too many Mafia novels. I need to stop.

" Then why did you ask me, Man? " I asked irritatedly.

" You! " He pointed a finger towards me and took a step ahead.

" Me? "  I asked and took a step with the same fiercely look.

I took a glance on my wrist watch in between. Fuck, I going to be late on my first day I think.

" You need to stop fighting!" He said me.

Out of 7 billion people in this world, how many doesn't know the meaning between fighting and arguing? I need to know the names to make them understand what fighting actually is.

I'm a black belt in karate, don't underestimate me!

Okay not black, but atleast I'm a blue belt.

" I'm not fighting! " I shouted back looking directly into his eyes.

" That you are! " He shouted back.

" Arey, but tum galat ho, pehle wrong side se aana hai, meri hi gaadi ko tokna hai aur fir mujhe hi dhamkiyan deni hai jaise ki main dar jaugi. Kon ho tum? Koi Politician? Ya criminal? Jo bhi ho, Maine nahi Darna kisi aaire gaire se " I said trying to calm myself.

[Hey, you are wrong, first you came from the wrong side, hit my vehicle and then you're giving me threats like I should be scared. Who are you? A politician? Or a criminal? Whoever you are I'm not scared of someone like you.]

He argues one more time and I break the glasses kept on his nose along with it.

" What is happening here? " I and the guy heard this voice.

It should be a cop, I would love to file a complaint now. But it feels like I have heard this voice somewhere.

I turned my head on the direction of the voice to see where it was coming from. It was a guy in a suit with his slight curls dancing on his face. He ran a hand through them to settle them. His face showed no emotions but just calmness. His voice polite but loud enough for anyone to hear it. I recognised the face very easily. It wasn't really hard to recognise someone who hasn't changed much.

But Oh my my, this world is too small!

🦋

So who is it? *Coughs* pretending as if no one could ever guess it.

What do you think about the fighter Ananya? She can fight anywhere, anytime with anyone. But I love her.

So meet you in the next part :D
