Chapter 274 A Blessing In Disguise Bennett, his eyes clouded with confusion, echoed, âSadness?â
He couldnât grasp why Nathan saw sadness in his situation.
Nathan, speaking solemnly, pointed out, âThe sniperâs real target was Finnegan. But why did he shoot you after hitting Finnegan? Canât you see the reason?â
Bennettâs forehead creased as he began to understand the implication.
Stephen, catching on, exclaimed, âGrandpa, are you saying Reginald had a dual plan tonight? Mr.
Sanchez as the front man and a sniper as backup?â
Nathan confirmed. âExactly. If Mr. Sanchez had succeeded, the sniper wouldâve eliminated him, erasing any trace back to Reginald. And if Mr. Sanchez failed, the sniper would finish off Finnegan and silence Mr.
Sanchez.â
He clenched his fists, âThatâs why I immediately enforced martial law in the city, to capture the sniper and corner Reginald!â
Bennett, his expression turning icy, realized, âHe wanted to kill me too?â
At that, he turned around, preparing to leave.
Stephen, concerned, inquired, âMr. Sanchez?â
âLet him be. If he didnât harm Finnegan, heâll die for inaction!â Nathan instructed.
Stephen grasped Nathanâs meaning. In the event of Finneganâs death, the fallout would be catastrophic.
Then, Doom Star followed suit, prompting Stephenâs surprise. âDoom Star, where are you going?â
Doom Star silently continued forward, ignoring the call.
Discerning his intent, Nathan remarked, âHeâs a devoted follower of Finnegan. The Sable familyâ¦
theyâre likely finished.â
Stephen, apprehensive, asked, âGrandpa, shouldnât we intervene?â
Despite Bennettâs injury, his status as a Grandmaster in the Preliminary Rank of Terra Realm remained.
Alongside him, Doom Star, whose skills were on par with a grandmasterâs, posed a formidable threat.
Should they act against the Sable family, the repercussions would be catastrophic, likely resulting in a bloodbath and the potential collapse of Regi Group, impacting the lives of countless individuals.
Nathan exhaled heavily. âIf Finnegan were still with us, Iâd have the power to restrain him. But in the face of his uncertain condition, how can I intervene? And even if I halt Doom Star and his allies now, what about Finneganâs three disciples? Or the elderly gentleman?â
The possibility of halting the imminent violence was flecting and dependent on Finneganâs survival.
Under his breath, Stephen remarked, âThe Sable family has really stirred up a hornetâs hest!â

At that moment, Kenneth emerged, his countenance etched with grief. âOld Mr. Wright, we tried everything in our power.â
Jerome, accompanied by Alexander and several experts, appeared visibly enraged.
âWho dared to attack the Master? Old Mr. Wright, we must seek justice!â the former exclaimed.
Nathanâs face tensed with worry. âDr. Magnussen, whatâs Finneganâs status?â
Jerome, struggling to hold back his tears, revealed the dire news. âIt appeared a glass ball in his pocket initially absorbed some of the bulletâs force. But after shattering the glass, the bullet still penetrated his heart. Heâs⦠Heâs no longer with us.â
Nathan suddenly experienced a dizzy spell, causing him to stagger. Stephen quickly reached out to steady him, alarmed, âGrandpa!â
Overwhelmed with the gravity of the situation, Nathan voiced his despair, âThis is disastrous. With Finnegan gone, not only the Sable family but our Wright family might face repercussions!â
Given Finneganâs significant role and Durbaineâs high regard for him, the shock proved too much for Nathan, a veteran with decades of military experience and a usually unshakable composure. His eyes rolled back as he succumbed to unconsciousness.
âMr. Magnussen, quickly, check on my grandfather!â Stephen called out, concerned that Nathan might have suffered an anxiety attack.
Amidst the ensuing chaos over Nathanâs collapse, an extraordinary phenomenon occurred in Finneganâs room.
The supposed âglass shardsâ removed from his pocket began to emit an unusual glow, mingling with the fresh blood. Some fragments radiated a black light, while others shone with a yellow hue.
The shattered Great Monad Stone pieces started to exhibit a stunning spectacle.
Black and yellow fragments began to separate and rise, forming tendrils of light akin to jellyfish tentacles.
They merged to create two orbs of light, one black and one yellow, reminiscent of the symbol of the Great Monad, and gravitated toward Finneganâs abdomen, seeping into it.
Following the absorption of the light orbs, Finneganâs body convulsed slightly before calming down.
About half a minute later, an astonishing event unfolded.
A faint yellow light emanated from Finneganâs wound, and the bullet was miraculously expelled. The wound then rapidly healed, visible to the naked eye.
In under a minute, the bullet wound at his heart had completely vanished, replaced by a robust, rhythmic heartbeat.
Finnegan, previously thought to be dead, abruptly sat up, taking a deep, life-affirming breath.
Flexing his hands and examining his chest, now only stained with blood but devoid of any wound, he expressed confusion, âHow did I heal myself?â
III As a renowned doctor, Finnegan knew he could save others even with a shot heart, but he had no means to save himself in that situation. He had resigned himself to his fate, yet now he was unquestionably alive, as if unharmed.
What on earth is going on?
Contemplating, his gaze fell on the Great Monad Stone fragments. A shiver ran down his spine as a realization dawned on him. âCould it be?â
He closed his eyes, introspecting his internal elixir field, pondering the astonishing turn of events.
Moments later, Finneganâs face broke into a vibrant smile as he reopened his eyes. âWell, what a blessing in disguise!â
Inside his elixir field, not only was there a solid foundation of spiritual energy, but he also discovered two additional strands of energy-one brimming with life and vitality, the other teeming with dark, negative power.
It seemed he had fortuitously absorbed both energies from the Great Monad Stone fragments, which miraculously revived him!
While Finnegan was overjoyed, a surge of fury also engulfed him. âReginald, you despicable old man!
No matter what, not a single member of the Sable family will witness tomorrowâs sunrise!â
His thoughts echoed Nathanâs earlier deduction about Reginaldâs dual plan.
Finnegan immediately leaped out of bed and rushed outside.
Nathan, who had just regained consciousness, was stunned to see Finnegan. âAm I dead? Is that Finneganâs ghost?â
Others followed Nathanâs gaze, stepping back in shock. Stephen exclaimed, âFinnegan, have you returned from the dead?â
Jerome, baffled, inquired, âMaster, do you have any lingering regrets?â
Finnegan barked, âQuit the nonsense; Iâm not dead! Out of my way!â as he stormed forward, radiating intense killing intent.
Realizing Finnegan was indeed alive, Nathan felt relieved but also apprehensive about his vengeful intentions. He quickly got up, saying, âFinnegan, are you headed for the Sable residence? That might not be the best-â
Finnegan cut him off, âEnough! Had I not listened to your âgreater good spiel, I wouldnât have nearly died. From now on, Iâll act first, against any threats. I wonât give my enemies a chance!â
This close encounter with death had sharpened Finneganâs resolve to preemptively crush his foes. It was the only way to ensure safety for himself and his loved ones.
Nathan, his expression darkening, realized he couldnât dissuade Finnegan. âStephen, contact your Uncle Adam. Prepare for the economic fallout from the Sable familyâs demise.â
Since it was impossible to stop Finnegan, he knew it was vital to mitigate the impact of the looming crisis.
