Chapter 50 Apology Tristan? An icy look flashed across Finneganâs eyes when he heard the voice.
Bernice recognized the voice as well. âThatâs Tristan, no? What is he doing here?â
Finnegan concealed the look in his eyes and calmly picked up his cup. âKillian had fallen. sick, and none of the medical experts could cure him. I guess Tristan is here to ask Mr. Magnussen for help.â
Having learned about Finneganâs situation over the past few days, Jerome knew about the grievances between Finnegan and the Chomsky family.
Jerome then rose to his feet and put on a grim expression. âMaster, please enjoy your drink. Iâll shoo them away.â
âHi, Dr. Magnussen!â Tristan greeted enthusiastically when he saw Jerome. However, one could tell Tristan was faking it.
With a nonchalant look on his face, Jerome looked at Oscar and the dozen of bodyguards. from the Chomsky family indifferently. âMr. Chomsky, you brought a large group of people with you, havenât you?
What is it that you want?â
Tristan frowned in displeasure when he sensed Jerome giving him the cold shoulder.
However, Tristan quickly remembered what he was there for, so he laughed it off and said, âI heard youâre providing treatment for the sick again, Dr. Magnussen. I brought ten million. with me, and I hope you can treat my son, Killian. Also, my friend here, Oscar, would like to- get treated.â
âIâm sorry, but I donât know how!â
Tristan thought Jerome would surely agree to provide treatment, but Jerome rejected him.
unhesitatingly.
Tristan froze momentarily because he thought he had misheard Jerome.
Oscar, who was also hoping to get treatment, uttered in a deep voice, âDr. Magnussen, youâre one of the top ten doctors in Loang, so youâre definitely a brilliant doctor. How could you say such a thing when you havenât even taken a look at your patients? Donât you have an obligation to save lives?â
Tristan suppressed his displeasure and chimed in. âI hope you can treat them, Dr. Magnussen! If you want more money, I can double the amount to twenty million!â
Jerome was unfazed. While waving dismissively he said, âPlease leave. Youâre right. I have an obligation to save lives. However, I donât treat iminoral patients!â
âWhat are you talking about, Mr. Magnussen?â Tristan was no longer addressing Jerome with the same tone.
âNothing. Please leave!â Jerome gestured for his guests to leave.
Being an influential man in Jadeborough and a founder of a company that was worth tens of billions, Tristan wasnât happy with the disrespect shown by Jerome. âMr. Magnussen, over the past two years, youâve crossed countless people when you declined to treat them. Are you sure you want to reject me as well?â
âWhatâs the matter, Mr. Chomsky? Are you threatening me?â Jerome sneered.
Seeing how things had turned out, Tristan didnât see the point of pretending anymore. In an indifferent tone, he replied, âJerome, I was afraid of you two years ago. Now, however, youâre no longer as celebrated and admired. Why canât I threaten you?â
In the next second, Tristan waved his arm and ordered, âFollow me to the General Hospital now to treat my son! Otherwise, your reopening is going to turn out badly.â
Jerome was an ethical doctor who wouldnât sit on his hands and watch others die.
However, he wasnât going to budge after learning about the grudge between Finnegan and the Chomsky family. âIâm sorry. Iâm not treating your son. Please leave the clinic!â
âHow dare you turn me down? Youâre asking for it!â Tristan yelled.
Having come a long way to get to where he was, Tristan was undeniably ruthless. He then turned around and instructed his bodyguards, âTrash the place! Destroy everything in sight until this old man says yes to me! Letâs show him the consequences of disrespecting me!â
âHow dare you?â Jerome fumed.
âThereâs nothing Iâm afraid of in Jadeborough,â Tristan sneered.
âIs that so? Youâre a proud man, arenât you, Mr. Chomsky?â Finnegan appeared behind and asked, âI wonder what would happen if the top ten prominent families were to hear what you said. Would they consider the Chomsky family the most powerful family in Jadeborough?â
Tristan abruptly turned around and instinctively took two steps back when he heard. Finneganâs voice coming from behind.
Needless to say, Tristan was infuriated. âWhat are you doing here?â he asked with a scowl. I thought I could get Oscarâs seniors to deal with Finnegan Who wouldâve thought that we would bump into each other here?

Oscarâs expression also turned grim, and his gaze was filled with malice.
Finnegan then stepped forward and smiled. âThis is my clinic. Why shouldnât I be here? Did I hear you ask your men to trash my clinic, Mr. Chomsky?â
âYour clinic?â Tristan was confused.
In response, Finnegan pointed at the business license hanging on the wall Bernice had obtained a couple of days prior. âI know youâre an arrogant man, but could it be that youâre also illiterate?â
Tristan glanced at the business license and saw Finneganâs name on it.
A deep crease appeared between his brows, and he knew there was no way Jerome would provide treatment.
Upon shooting Finnegan a cold glance, Tristan turned around and said to his men. âLetâs go!â
Tristan knew he couldnât afford to offend Finnegan. Iâll just wait for Oscarâs seniors to get here to teach Finnegan a lesson.
âStop right there!â Finnegan demanded. âDo you think you can just leave after threatening somebody?â
Tristan turned around to ask, âWhat do you want?â
Hearing that, Bernice tugged at Finneganâs shirt and said, âJust let it go.â
Bernice didnât want to have to get them out of the police station again.
Finnegan patted Berniceâs hand to calm her down before shooting Tristan a vicious look. âApologize to Mr. Magnussen. Otherwise, youâre not leaving.â
âDo you really want to have a fallout between us, Finnegan?â Tristan asked.
âDoes that make a difference?â Finnegan sneered.
Indeed, the two were already ready to fight each other to the death.
Tristanâs expression changed dramatically, but he eventually suppressed his apologized, âIâm sorry for what happened just now!â
anger and With that, he shot Finnegan a murderous look before leaving with his men.
Seeing that, Finnegan flashed a faint smile and said, âThat man knows when to relent and when to persist. No wonder he managed to build something out of nothing.â
In a helpless tone, Bernice said, âTristan is a prideful man. Heâs surely looking forward to getting back at you.â
âEven if I didnât do what I just did, he would still do the same thing. Hence, why should I show him respect?â Finnegan was smiling, and it seemed like he couldnât be bothered by his hatred for Tristan. If I didnât plan to gradually force the Chomsky family into extinction, I wouldâve wiped them out the moment I returned.
With that in mind, he turned around and said, âMr. Magnussen, letâs continue our discussion. We need to talk about the opening and the issues regarding manpower.â
Despite seeing how unperturbed Finnegan was, Bernice was worried sick. What if Tristan comes back for revenge?
âMr. Goldberg, when will your seniors get here? I canât wait for Finnegan to die!â While on the way enveloped by murderous intent.
back, Tristan was In response, Oscar answered, âOne of them can get here anytime, but I donât think thatâs enough to take Finnegan down. Letâs just wait for the other three to arrive as well. Theyâll need another five days.â
Tristan clenched his fists upon hearing that. âThatâs Friday. Coincidentally, thatâs on the fourteenth day of the time Finnegan had given. Heâll finally see what a clown he is on that day!â
