One month later!
No matter how hard he tried to concentrate on the files that were emailed to him by the clients, he couldn't. Not when he could clearly hear all of them having fun downstairs. When and how did his best friend become her bestie was beyond him.
Two weeks ago, on the gaming night he was stupid enough to invite his friends over! Who would have thought she would become best friend with his friends, especially HIM! Behzad had become the victim of the when you introduce your best friend to someone and then forget you that about your existence and become inseparable, scheme. But was he on friendly terms with Mehr?
What is a friend basically? Someone who makes your life different? In a better way! Someone whose company you enjoy. Someone with whom you lose count of time. Mehr was all that , except he didn't like her. Or if he worded it right, she didn't like him.
Still, it really did sting yesterday when Mehr said "Haan bestie nay mujhe bata dia hai... that you are staying at his place." He wanted to go "KAB BATAYA SALAY NAY" but he had shaken his head instead.
Abdullah, the gamer guy who avoided the female lot as if they were pest was her bestie. And he told her stuff. According to him, he had no time for bullshit and drama. And it was true! But he was complete opposite with her. He handled her mood swings with a smile and a head shake! He explained stuff to her, instead of saying, "Tum rehnay do ! Tumhare bus ki baat nai..."! Fudge, he had her contact saved as "Bestieð¢" because she didn't like people saving her contact saved as "Mehr-un-Nisa". What the fudge was happening right under his nose? Was he jealous? God no! Why would he be jealous if Abdullah had become chuddi buddi with her. As if he liked her? Nah! He had Saba. Why should he care? But he did.
So minutes later Behzad found himself standing in-front of the living room, one hand causally in his pockets while the other hand wrapped around the phone which was placed near his ear. Was he faking to be on call, to appear as causal as the kainchi chappals he was in? YES!
Mehr was a vision in the ice-blue shirt that had little yellow flowers embroidered on it. The yellow dupatta that she wore highlighted her ivory complexion. She smiled at something minion said and then replied. A reply he couldn't quite get thanks to the loud round of laughter that followed. It would have been a lovely sight, if he wasn't standing where he was standing right now.
His throat was clogging! Abdullah was laughing as if he was in company of the funniest person ever. HE had never laughed at his jokes like that. And his cheeks were red! Freaking red! Was he blushing? The entire scene was disagreeable. His gaze fixed on Mehr who he thought would acknowledge his presence like she always did. A look of disapproval used to flash over her eyes, and then she used to get all self-conscious. But she didn't, this time! And it stung!
He watched her as she eyed the pink cheek Abdullah and then followed her gazed. That sly cat was trying to steal dollars from the bank! SO like MEHR to cheat in monopoly! The devil inside wanted to announce it but he didn't. Instead, he folded his hands against his chest as he watched her pull a 500$ note aside.
Mehr smiled again, this time it was more of a victorious glee kind of smile. IDIOT! Titling his head towards side he analyzed his friend's face who seemed rather smitten.
"Bestie...." He heard Abdullah.
"Jee ....." She replied as she smiled.
"Woh $500 dollar ka note wapis rakho...." He announced grandly.
"Kon sa?" She asked as she gave him the look of innocence and Behzad wanted to throttle her.
"Jo abhi cushion k neechay chupaya hai...." He announced.
"You knew......" She asked as she groaned as he retrieved that $500 dollar note and placed it back in the bank assets.
"You are the first one who caught me stealing..." She was smiling at him, and her cheeks were crimson.
What in the hell! She used to create a fuss when he used to say "cheating maat karo..." Why did Abdullah not get the death glares like he did?
Grrrr !!! Behzad growled only to have Mehr finally look in his direction and notice him.
"Ohh sneek....I didn't know you were standing there..." Was he reading too much into it or did she really sounded rather disappointed. What the hell! Abdullah was bestie, and he was what? SNEEK! Why?
"You seemed rather occupied." He replied.
"Behzad...." Abdullah said rather excitedly.
"We are just about to wind up the game. Bestie har gae hai and then we are going out, Chachu Khaldi ajj off pay hain. Gaun gaen hain. LOSER was going to pay..."
"Pay for only you! He wasn't part of the deal." Again! She didn't even try to be a little secretive about not wanting him to tag along. As if I was going too! A voice said in his head. But now that he knew she didn't want him to come, he was definitely going to join them. He'd ditch on Saba for that.
"Haan tu main kon sa keh raha hoon k iske bhi paisay do. Bus poch raha tha....Wese bhi Behzad nay tu Badminton khelnay jana hai..."
Mehr snickered and Abdullah smirked. It was a dig at him going out with a new girl every day! It wasn't his fault that a girl dropped off her number at the badminton court. Or that she asked him out for a friendly match, took a selfie and posted it on her Instagram account with all the sweat and rawness ! If Mehr wasn't there, he would have responded in the language Abdullah very well understood. Clenching his hands into a fist, he looked out the window trying to mask his feelings. He wasn't liking it one bit!
"Bakwas nai! I don't want to impose on your plans! App jayen khelain badminton, monopoly whatever." He replied with distaste.
"Behzad...." Abdullah began but he was silenced with a glare that was directed by Mehr who well understood the dig. Whatever Behzad thought she wasnt dating Abdullah. And there was no scene going on. And even if they were , Behzad shouldn't be out there making comments. And Mehr didn't want them to waste time on him when there were so much better things to do.
Behzad watched Abdullah close his mouth like a fish in response to her glare. This was new. SIMP Kahin ka!!!
Mehr looked at him, with no idea what she wanted to say. She didn't want him to come along but she also didn't want him to go to that badminton match. The girl was a bitch! She was only using him for money, to pay the restaurant bills! Bus yehi wajah hai, that it bothers me... I am a nice friend even when he isn't! And I'd do it for anyone! Why could she not just let him go? She didn't know. He was not for her friend! He never could be, never was. She knew it, still she couldn't help but feel possessive about him.
"You can come... If you want....", she said slowly knowing that she shouldn't, but she was going to enjoy every single moment of his discomfort. She was going to like how frustrated he was going to get every time she was going to side with bestie, and he'd feel like she had stolen his best friend! YES, SNEEK GAME ON!
A quick lifting of his dark brows gave Mehr all the satisfaction she needed. He snorted and then smiled recovering from his earlier predicament. Offering a very small smile, which made his eyes widen just with a touch of worry (what is she up to, he wondered), she added "As long as you don't complain throughout the dinner."
Abdullah chocked on his laughter putting a hand on his forehead.
When the trio reached in the garage, Behzad looked around for Abdullah's car which was nowhere to be spotted.
"Gari kidhar hai ?"
"Workshop....."
"Tu yahan kese ?"
"Bestie picked me up..." Abdullah replied as he followed Mehr to her Altis.
Picked him up , uske ghar say ! Aur main agr kisi larki ko drop kardoon tu everyone gives me the look! Yahan pick and drop chal raha! Last Wednesday, when I asked her to pick me up from the garage which was 10 minutes' drive, she had to send poor Chachu! Par apnay bestie ko ghar say pick kar rahi hai ! Behzad snorted as he walked towards his car!
"You can connect the bluetooth bestie... Your playlist is elite."
"Bus elite logon ko he samaj ati hai yeh..."
"Haan tum isi ki gari main chaalo apna "Total eclipse of Heart!". I'll pass". Behzad murmured!
"Shit shit! Bestie, ruko zara 5 min! I'll go change...." Mehr exclaimed.
"Bestie you are looking good, chalo ab!"
The smiled that she gave him as she blushed, he could spend all his fortune on it! All of it! That genuine, 'awww, what did I do to deserve this kindness smile..'
"Bus 5 min, please! I'll just change my shoes and be back!"
"Acha jao!" He replied and she dashed inside.
Behzad watched all this with growing irritation! He wasn't liking being a third wheel with his own best friend!
So, he couldn't stop himself from saying what he was about to say.
"Looking good? Kya chal raha hai Saalay? Huh?"
"Tujhe bura kyun lag raha hai? What happened to your Saba..."
"Mujhe kyub bura lagae ga ?"
"Mujhe kya pata...." Abdullah was enjoying it.
"She is not that type of girl?"
"What type of girl?"
"Your type", his tone was getting .
"Meri type bhi hai?"
"Bakwas nai!"
"Jaal kyun raha!"
"Tumhari baji......" He began and then stopped himself as he saw her approaching!
"I am back in 3 minutes." She declared as she passed him another one of her charming smiles. Sensing the tension, she asked "Sub thek hai, bestie?"
"Haan sub thek hai bestie! Chalo chalain."
During the middle of the ride, bestie had to go pick his brother because it was an emergency. Parking her car by the side, she looked at him.
"Dekho na tum Behzad k sath chali jao bestie...."
"Kyunke meri gari gae hoe hai workshop. I need the car, Sarim ko pick karnay jana hai...."
"Tu apnay dost Behzad say mango na ...."
"Gari dekhi hai tum nay uski? Average fuck ho get u 10 saal tak roye ga woh....You, on the other hand, gari lag bhi jae get you'll say "koi baat nai bestie, hota hai..."
Mehr couldn't help but smile. He understood her and she liked him. She didn't know why. But she did.
"Acha lay jao gari... Par us manhoos kay sath wapis nai jaa rahi. I'll uber ..."
"Why can't you go with him?"
"Bus mujhe nai jana na uske sath..."
"I can't take your car and leave you to uber your way back home."
"kyun?"
"Kyuke yeh galat baat hai ! He's not that bad! And you were hungry too. Ghar par kuch nai bana..."
And in minutes, Bestie made a call and she found herself sitting with Behzad in the front seat.
"I don't assault, women!" He said as he looked at her.
"I didn't think you do", she said color flooding her cheeks.
"Then why do you look like I am the strange perverted uber driver you got saddled with and can't wait for the ride to end."
"Because it's true. Not the uber part, the ride part." She explained.
"We were friends once."
"We never were friends." She told him.
"Yes, you are right. Girlfriend?" He said as his gaze settled on her.
Her pulse quickened!
"You wish! Friends don't lie and betray each other."
"I thought we were beyond that. After the revenge you planned on me for it." He said tightly.
"Fucking up the letter of recommendation wasn't much of a revenge. Defiantly, not when I decided to return them within a week. Also, uske liye mujhe dant bhi pari the"
"It costed me my scholarship Mehr !"
"Mamo said you got it, despite that."
"Yes, got in but Bestie had to pay the tuition fee. They cancelled the scholarship...."
"He did? I didn't know. He told me you got scholarship." She whispered. Her face was guilt stricken.
Why hadn't Mamo told her that?
"I am so sorr-"
"Ho gaya ab Mehr! It's okay. Can we now be civil and go for dinner?"
"No! You can't be messing things up and then ignore me and then come back and think, sub kuch thek ho jae ga ! Zindagi aisay nai chalti!" She told him.
"Phir kese chalti hai? Because you returned all that with interest!"
"Sure...." She found herself whispering. She was in no mood to argue when she knew he'd never accept his mistake!
"Ghar us taraf hai..." She told him when he took the right turn.
"Mujhe pata hai!" He told her matter-of-factly.
"We are going for dinner... That was the whole reason of going out !"
"I'll order a take-out. Mujhe ghar chor dain phele...."
" You can call yourself an uber from there if you want !"
"Bestie said you'll drop me."
"Tu apke bestie ki galti hai. Mainay nai bola tha..."
"I really do hate you!" She told him.
" Tell me something I don't know?" He responded.
The rest of the car ride was silent. His mood had worsened and so had hers. But unlike her, he was not going to let her have the liberty of knowing that. He was going to smile and pretend that he was enjoying it. Pretend that everything was perfect. While she was going to be sassy and passive aggressive about the whole situation.
Mehr waited outside in the parking while the sneek, went back to retrieve whatever he had forgotten â(HIS MORALS! ) from the car. The cool air swept her hair, clearing her head and her anger a little. Why was she angry? If she didn't want to stay, she could just Uber her way home. But she hadn't. Because she didn't want him to think that she was avoiding him, or he had some power over her. He had power, but he didn't need to know that.
Mehr watched the trees and the couple walking in the moonlight. She wrapped her arms around herself unconsciously as she wondered, how it would feel to have someone who'd love you, adore you and respect you. So far, she hadn't had much luck with it. But it still didn't make her stop believing in love.
For a moment, she wished that she was back in her room, listening to the slow reverbs that everybody hated but she didn't! Before she knew it, she was humming a song to calm her nerves. So, like Behzad to abandon her in the middle of a street after he promised her a dinner. But you refused, Mehr! You told him you are calling an Uber! Tu phir kyun intezar kar rahi ho uska? Because, he said he'll like to have dinner with me! She should have not agreed. She knew how long his attention span lasted and she could bet everything that he had encountered some woman in parking and was busy sweet talking to her!
She was a fool to feel special, when he used to treat every random stranger like he treated her! Even though she wanted to blame herself for the sheer stupidity, she couldn't! Because it was his eyes. The way he looked at her, as if she was the most important person in the world, how could she fight that!
Woh har larki ko aese he dekhta hai Mehr!
Whatever! I am calling a cab! He can go to hell. She thought as she dug into her back. A cell phone rang behind her, startling her. When she turned it was, Behzad. He smiled at her, as if everything was alright and then reached for his phone, which was in pocked. Without looking at the caller ID he turned off the phone. And all the anger was gone! Whoosh! She couldn't help but melt.
A normal person would have attended the call pretended it was some important business one, just to impress her. But he hadn't. Her heart was going ga ga but her mind wasn't. So, what she said was a total buzz kill and she regretted it the moment she said is.
"Ahhh, ex wants you back? Or maybe it's not an ex. It's a friend, who you abandoned. Who just wants to know you are alive and doing okay. But you decide to ignore them." She said raising her eyebrows and his facial expressions changed.
"Any other person would have appreciated the gesture. But not you!" He responded.
"Jokes apart, what if it's important?"
"The only person who is important is here." He said, smiling that GQ-smile that had her heart flipping and her brain exploding with the fireworks.
"Uff! Can you stop?" She asked.
"HUH?", his smile faded.
"The constant lines.... I am not one of your girls. And I'll never be. You can relax!" Mehr said as she began to walk.
"I wish you were. I am relaxed. Par mera itna khayal. Is ko main kya samjhoon?" He said as he matched her stride.
"App kabhi kuch samjtay bhi hain?" She asked as she rolled her eyes.
"Apko dil say apna samjhta hoon ...." He replied.
And she wanted to face palm herself.
"Behzad, you need to stop! Khuda ka wasta hai. For once, at least act a little normal."
"This is normal."
"Your usual! But not normal! I'd rather talk about anything. Some stupid shit like "How getting the latest Iphone is stupid when the old one just works fine", than this...."
"So very practical of you." He said as he reached for her arm to steer her away from the broken glass bottle.
"Thank you," she said, taken aback that he'd cared.
"You're welcome." He put his hands in his pockets and started walking again, lengthening his stride.
"I don't understand the fuss of getting the latest one.... That is too over-priced after the double PTA you pay. Things rich people do." She said as she took a step larger to walk ahead of him. It was the best way to avoid looking at his face that looked perfect in the moonlight. For someone who wasn't tall, he really did have a long stride and caught up with her easily.
"Price is not the reason you don't switch to the new ones like everyone. You stick to your old one which I might add have a poor battery health and runs out of battery, because you are sentimental and don't want to let go. Even if it's only a phone. Which is a shame ..."
Mehr glanced up at him annoyed that he was extremely right about her iphone 7. "I beg your pardon," she said stiffly, folding her arms again. "Are you saying I have abandonment issues."She said as she carelessly walked in the direction of the approaching bike.
"Look out." He reached to take her hand in his to steer her around, away from the bike, but she detoured on her own, rotating away from him. He looked at her feet and stopped, probably faking concern, and she stopped, too. Okay maybe , he wasnt faking concern . Maybe he was really concerned. But if she allowed her heart to accept that he was concerned about her, there might be no possible chance that she was coming back from that road.
"Ofcourse not." He said as he released her hand and slid them his pockets, and he looked manly and cocky as all hell. But she couldn't help but feel warm all mushy. So, Mehr tried taking the smaller steps approach. Actually, it wasn't smaller steps, it was her usual stride with her usual pace, so that he was ahead of her.
"If you think I'm some kind of stuck up with abandonment issues then what are you doing with me?"
"What I'm doing with you," he said, clearly at the end of his patience, "is trying to take you to a great restaurant, which is just up ahead, so we could call a truceâ"
Mehr started to walk again. "I am only tolerating you for food." She walked slower, but he slowed his pace to match her anyway, with no visible effort.
Sneek stopped in front of a dimly lit window that was covered in cute lights. She wasn't expecting this. She expected him to take her to the expensive 5-star restaurant where even breathing oxygen costed 1K and the waiters looked down at you for well not conversing in English. Was she disappointed? Yes, maybe a little. Because he used to take his dates to the 'PF Chang' or 'Spice Bazar'. But you aren't a date, Mehr. It still stung. She couldn't help but feel that he was putting minimum effort for her. Given the past experiences, she was used to him putting zero efforts. It shouldn't hurt. But it did!
She preferred the cozy setting. It was comfortable. But she wasn't ready to look on the bright side!
"This is the restaurant?" Mehr said, surprised he hadn't picked something flashier.
"Yep." He reached for the door.
"And you bring your usual dates over here?" The words left her mouth before she could stop herself.
"Only the special ones." He said as he winked at her. And she wanted to facepalm herself.
"I'm Warran's favorite customer," he said, pulling the door open. "At least until he meets you."
"Another line?" Mehr said, exasperated.
"No," he said with great and visible patience.
"Keep antagonizing me and Warran will give you a free dessert." He added.
"I thought you were his favorite customer. Which brings me to this question. How'd you become favorite itni jaldi. And please no Bullshit like "Bus apko he qadr nai hai meri...pori duniya...", " Mehr said.
"I am. He's a friend from school....So, he will really appreciate the show you'll put." He said holding the door open for her.
Mehr walked past him into the restaurant and Behzad watched the shock on Mehr's face as she eyed his favorite the restaurant for the first time. Seeing it in all its funky glory, the wrought-iron chandeliers with the amber flame bulbs, the old black and white photos on the walls, the wooden square tables, the candles in the middle.
"This is great,''' she said, and started to laugh with giddy. "My God, how did somebody like you ever find this place?"
"What do you mean, somebody like me?" Behzad asked said.
She walked completely ignoring his question. She smiled, her soft lips parted and her dark eyes alight, and then Warran came up behind him.
"Oh Behzad...." Warran said and Behzad turned to greet his old friend.
"How excellent to see you again, after the closing hours!"
"Warran" Behzad said. "Mehr-un-Nisa Jahangir."
"Warran makes the best steak in the in town."
"I'm sure you make the best everything in the country, Warran." Mehr said, offering him her brightest smile as she looked at him from under her lashes.
Warran cheered up and Behzad thought, why he never got one of those smiles. First Abdullah, now Warran.
"For a smile as bright as yours that melted my heart I will gift, the steak and melted Belgium chocolate brownies."
Mehr beamed at him as she blushed at the compliment.
"Warran stop accosting my date."
Mehr shook her head at him with no smile whatsoever. "I am not his date. We don't even like each other."
"He doesn't need to..." Behzad tried to interrupt but she wouldn't let him. He hated it when she did that. Why did she have to throw the "I don't like him", in his face 24/.
"He brought me here as an apology which is apology accepted. But it's sad I didn't discover this place on my own. But then I don't usually go out or try new things." She was rambling . She turned back to Warran, smiling again.
"It's a date. She said it herself. She asked me if I brought all my dates here. A table please" Behzad said, exasperated beyond politeness.
"I don't allow the shanks in here," Warran said to Mehr as he winked at her.
Unbelievable, Behzad thought and kicked Warran on the ankle when Mehr turned to look around the restaurant. The guy was married, for Christ's sake and couldn't stop flirting with his girl. HIS GIRL? For tonight she was.
Warran showed them to the best table by the window, from where she could see the valley and then stopped by Behzad only to mutter under his breath, "all of the staff went home, 30 minutes ago,Bseeee !"
"You're welcome," Behzad said loudly, nodding to him.
"It's like the old restaurant from the movies, where the guy takes his gurl to and proposes." she told Behzad.
"Except that...." She began
"You hate me and you want me dead." He added.
"Except we aren't even friends, I was going to say.. Uff, forget I said that. You are forgiven. I love it. I love Warran, too."
"I noticed," he said.
"He likes you too..."
And then her smile faded, and she looked tense again. "But..." He braced himself for her next shot. She leaned forward. "I don't eat beef steaks. They seem raw and... I don't want to hurt his feelings. Can we order something else?"
"Sure," Behzad said, surprised.
"Sandwiches?"
"Perfect! Thank you!" Mehr smiled at him.
Her lips were full and soft, and when she smiled her gratitude at him, her face changed from grim to warm but the wicked glint she'd had in her eyes when she was talking with Warran was gone.
Warran brought the cookies first and Mehr leaned forward to see them with childlike excitement.
"They smell so good! I can come here, roz"
"Warran, we'll like to have a tikka sandwiches and the lasagna.."
"Excellent choice, Behzad" Warran said, and Behzad knew it was because sandwich was easy to make and a frozen lasagna only needed to be heated in the oven. Nothing Warran couldn't manage on his own.
He watched her eat the cookie in one go.
"Oh," she breathed, and then she chewed it with her eyes shut, pleasure flooding her face.
Look at me like that, he thought. In that instant, his heart was gone. "Main tera!!!! Main teraaa main teraaaaaaaaaaa....."
Mehr opened her eyes to find Behzad siting with his cheek resting on his hand and his intense gaze was settled on her face. Red crept her cheeks and she felt self-conscious.
"They are sooo damn good...."
"So are you...." He said and she rolled her eyes.
"I am really having a good time Behzad, so if you can please cut it. Thank you so much."
"Why are you so hostile towards me!" He asked. And all Mehr could see was red!
"Hostile!" She said as she stabbed her fork into the French fry that was complimentary with the sandwiches.
She chewed blissfully and Behzad watched her, trying to figure out where he messed up. He was very charming, damn it!
"Why do you do this with me?" She asked.
"Do what?"
"Pretend that you care about me and the moment we are good you ruin it...."
"Maybe it hasn't occurred to you, but I do care about you."
"HAA..." She said as she devoured her sandwich.
"Khair, I was stupid once but not again...." She said when she'd finished chewing.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Nothing!" She said as she licked her lips and his irritation evaporated. She was perfect when she wasn't scowling at him. Smooth skin, wide-set dark eyes, a blob of a nose, and that lush, soft, full, rosy mouth....aur thori wala till .......
"Mehr, can you stop treating me like I am the bane of your existence ?"
"Oh but you are. Stop acting as if you give a damn about it." She said and then frowned.
"I am sorry. You have done nothing to deserve it tonight. Except for making me feel like I am important. I am not important, so stop pretending. The moment I believe you, you'll start treating me like shit. That's the pattern! It's on me, for getting hurt. Again, and again. It makes me insane with rage. The person I'm really mad at is me for being so stupid about the whole thing."
"You're not stupid, Mehr" he said.
She squinted at him, looking confused. "Thank you. This is not your fault. I mean, you have your faults..."
"That's okay," he said, confused, too. What faults? He wanted to shout.
"This place is excellent. Thank you..."
"Good, we'll come here often," he said, InshALLAH! He whispered to himself.
"Another line," Mehr said .
"What is it with you? You see a woman and automatically go into this 'Simp mode'?"
"Ab mainay kya kar dia bhai....." He whined like a kid and Mehr had this insane urge to lean forward and pull his cheek! Cutieee !!!
"App nay kuch nai kiya. I really considered you a friend. And then you left all of the sudden. Ammi , ka inteqal ho gaya . And I was lost and friendless. I wrote to you and all you did was ignore me! You had time to text Maneeha , Amna and almost everyone! But not me. Baba forced me to get married to Ahmad that is another case. And I hated you.... Blamed you, for all of it. I missed you, Behzad. Whatsappaed you, insta....... And there was no response. You ignored me. I saw your replies in other groups, and your social activities on every social media platform. Phir mainay saray messages unsend aur delete kar diye...... If you can be petty , I am petty x2 !"
"So, you missed me? That is why you treated me like shit when I came back for the first time after 3 years?" He asked.
"I treated you like shit because you saw right through me! You were all about Amna and Khadija! You were the one offering me cold shoulders. First the messages, and then that."
"Jealous?" He asked.
"huh! I was hurt. The least you could do was atleast Ammi ka afsoos! Khair, uske bad say everything went down the hill."
"I called, when Auntie died! But you didn't pick up. And then you told me to go to hell in a text! Uske bad your jerk asshole husband was rude as funk..."
"And you went to hell?" She asked sarcastically.
"Kohsish ki the....."
"Can you please cut it? "
"Beard? But you said you liked guys with beards and all...." Behzad grinned at her. "Do I make you go weak at the knees?" She blushed. She didn't expect him to remember that after 8 years.
"No! I have changed, so have my choices. Also, I was talking about your crap! Cut it. Mera mood maat kharab karo."
"Give me a chance. I can bring back the magic. Rather, cut the magic?"
Mehr stopped sipping the drink and meet his eyes for a long moment, this time there was a glint in his eyes, and everything faded into background. All she could feel was his eyes on herself.
"Cut, ismany tu app expert hain....", She told him and blushed while he erupted into a fit of laughter. So like her to score a point! So, what that he had numerous relationships? People did, all the time.
But in that moment, something changed. He didn't know what. She was the same moody, opinionated Mehr and he was the same careless, unapologetic Behzad! But there was something so magical, and peaceful in that moment that they didn't want it to end ever! Maybe it was the warmth from the yellow lights, or the soft music that played in the background. Or just them!
"We can be friends? 4 mahinay reh gae hain... Then I'll be out of your hair? Nai?" He asked.
"And life...... jese phele thay?" She asked.
"Nai dost! Not life. Just hair!" He said with a smile and like a fool she was she believed him.
"Friends?" He asked.
"You are a crappy friend, Behzad!" She told him.
"Isi liye tu bol raha hoon , Boyfriend bana lain?", He said.
"Fuck off !"
"I missed you, cutie!" He said .
"You didn't!" She would have felt it, if he did.
He grabbed her drink and sipped from her straw. "Ap keh rahi hain tu man lete hain", he told her. Mehr watched him and then her drink in his hands. Mera jhoota......
She didn't know what to think of that act. What was she supposed to do? Order another one? She pretended that she didn't see him drink from her straw. She pretended that it didn't matter. And then as the conversation flew, she thought about ordering another drink, removing the straw or just order water. In the end, she shook her head and put that straw in her mouth. It was her drink and he had sipped from it knowing it was hers.
"Haar ek phelu tera mere dil me aabad ho jae
Tujhe main itna daikhoon , tu mujhe yaad ho jae..."
I hope I am able to portray Behzad's causal go with the flow nature..... By the end of this book , Mehr might be so in love with him but I'll be out of love(JKS I love this shawty ). All the men that I have penned down so far, are so perfect. Like perfect perfect ! Tall , handsome ,smart , well-settled ! Asal main ase thori hota hai..... Behzad is closest to the reality, with the demons from the past. He's not perfect. He'll be a pain some times, and then he'll be cutie that you can imagine forever be. Mera favourite tu ALI YAZDAN HAIDER RIND hai â¥â¥â¥â¥
I am randomly selecting the most suitable song from my playlist. You can listen to "Dil na janeya' while reading this chapter if you want. Arijitt pleasee come to Pakistan , when I have a bae....because ase akele concert pay jaa k mainay sad nai hona....
