“Did you get the house?” Tao Zhi called to ask Tan Rou.

Tao Zhi chuckled, “Why would you want to go there when you have so many nice houses to live in? Just leave this property here. Our family isn’t short on money. If you ever want to sell it, you can sell it to someone else.”

After thinking for a moment, Tan Rou said, “Last time Lan Ning asked me if I knew of any good jobs for her, she’s looking to save money to buy a house and eventually move in with her parents and sister. I can ask her if she wants it, and if she does, I’ll sell it to her at a discount.”

Tan Rou said, “Find some time to take Tian Tian out for some fun when you’re free. Don’t always keep busy with work.”

“Okay, I got it,” Tao Zhi sighed, “I want to take her out too, but there’s so much work that needs me, I simply don’t have the time. I’ll make some time on the weekend to go out with her. Don’t tell her; I want to surprise her.”

Tan Rou was speechless. Only her big brother would think of a weekend date as a surprise. But Tian Tian, naïve as she was, fell for it every time. No matter what Tao Zhi said or did, she was always happy.

That weekend, Tan Rou and a few other girls gathered together, planning a girls’ gathering without boyfriends or husbands, as some of them were still single.

Ling Lu could hardly contain her laughter, “You? Shy? Last time Lan Ning said you changed crushes three times in a week, greeting every single one. Does that sound shy to you?”
