Chapter 55

𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐙𝐈𝐖𝐄

"It doesn't fit. Banzi I've gained weight." My wedding dress couldn't fit me. Since I wasn't allowed to meet with Banzi before we got married I decided to call him.

"Fez, baby relax. I'll call your designer and ask her to come and fix it. Don't cry." I couldn't help it but cry more.

"Maybe this is a sign that I shouldn't get married."

"Come to my room."

"Okay." I hanged up and wiped my tears luckily my make is waterproof.

I sneaked to Banzi's room. We were at a hotel in Cape Town. The venue is five minutes away hence we booked in here.

The moment I opened the door to his room he pulled me to a hug. I hugged him tightly like it's my last time hugging him. I had missed him.

"Come in." He closed the door and locked it. We both sat at the bed.

"You're looking beautiful did I tell you that?" I smiled and shook my head.

"Well I'm telling you now. You Afeziwe Jali-Dalindyebo are the most beautiful girl I've ever laid my eyes on me. You're my heartbeat and I would be nothing without you."

"Why are you saying the vows right now? What will you say at the altar?"

"That I love you. I'm a man of few words but when it comes to you I become a poet."

"That's really heartwarming. I love you too." I held his hands. We were both looking into each other's eyes.

Someone knocked at the door and Banzi stood up to open.

Some woman in a white doctor's jacket walked in followed by a nurse who was pushing some equipments. I stood up.

"What are this for?" I eyed Banzi.

"Miss Jali, I'm doctor Dlamini. I'm a gynaecologist."

"Nice to meet you but why do I need a gynaecologist?"

"Because I think you're pregnant." Banzi revealed. Pregnant? Me?

"I don't think I'm pregnant."

"You'll never be sure until you undergo a test." Said doctor Dlamini.

"Just do as she says, baby. I wouldn't like it if you miss your own wedding."

I reluctantly agreed. I followed all the process and now I was waiting for the results. I sat down on the bed and took out my phone.

The family WhatsApp group was full of messages and voice notes.

𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐚: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠.

𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠?

𝐇𝐥𝐞𝐥𝐨: 𝐒𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫.

𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭? 𝐅𝐞𝐳𝐢𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮?☹️

After that it was voice notes and them asking each other where's Sere? Maybe she may know where I am.

"The results are ready." The doctor snapped me from my phone. I placed the phone away.

"You're three months and one week pregnant." She announced.

"Please lie down so that I can do an ultrasound on you."

I lay on the bed. I've been pregnant all along? I don't know how to feel about this.

The doctor applied the cold gel on my stomach.

"I don't know how to feel." I told Banzi. He held my hand.

"I'm happy. We are having another baby together."

"It's actually twins." The doctor said.

"Twins? Can you tell the gender?" I'm having twins? Twin babies? I was crying and I don't know if they are tears of joy or what.

"It's a girl and a boy."

"Thank you so much Doctor. I'll send your money soon."

"Congratulations Mr Dalindyebo. Here are the scans." She gave Banzi the scans and cleared out her equipment before leaving.

"I love you Afeziwe. My love for you grows every moment."

"Promise me that you'll never leave me Banzi. I can't imagine myself being a single mother of four." He kissed my forehead.

"I'll never leave you." I pulled him to me and hugged him. His phone rang. Mine is on ‘Do not disturb’ mode.

"Hello? …yeah she's with me…she's coming. Bye." He hanged up.

"That's Hlelo apparently you're missing." He smiled.

"You find this funny? You called me here."

"I literally fixed all your problems. The dress is a fit now. Go get ready before i lock you in here for our wedding night." I sat on top of him and wrapped my hands on his neck.

"That won't be a bad idea." He stood up with name in his arms and headed to the door.

"Put me down!"

"Nah." He walked through the passage still holding me in his arms.

We bumped into our parents.

"Lubanzi and Afeziwe? Why can't you both stay away from each other for a second? You're supposed to be ready." My mom scolded. I hid my face on Banzi's shoulder.

"We were fixing something and now since we are done I'm taking her to her room to get ready."

"Fixing what? Can you not be horny for a second?" My mom has no peace.

"See you." Banzi passed them and I was laughing.

"Your mother though." We finally reached my room and we got in.

The bridesmaids were going up and down.

"Where the hell were you?" Amber yelled.

"Banzi why did you take her?" Hlelo furiously questioned her brother.

"Guys be gentle with my wife, she's pregnant." He kissed my lips before he left.

"Pregnant? Really?" Amber was excited.

"You guys have a bipolar but yeah I'm pregnant with twins."

They literally screamed. Drama queens.

We all got ready and my brother was the one to walk me to the altar.

"I'm proud of you, mtasekhaya." (Little sister) He gave me a hug.

"Mommy! Shall I go on?" Sere was holding a pink basket full of flowers while Ntsiko was holding the rings. I know my son is very responsible so he'll never lose them unlike Sere.

"You can." The first note of the music came and Sere was out of the door wearing a small white dress which was designed for her. She was also wearing colourless sneakers that shone with bright colours when she walked.

Behind her was Ntsiko in a silver grey tuxedo which was similar to Karabo's. They both had black bow ties. They also wore similar shoes to Sere's.

I linked my arm with JoJo's and we slowly in sync walked to the altar.

Lubanzi was looking handsome in his black and silver grey tuxedo with a white shirt. Instead of a tie he unbuttoned his shirt. His brother Liyema though was wearing a tie. They both looked handsome but my eyes were on one brother.

My bridesmaids too looked gorgeous in their silver grey different dresses. Kaya and Iyana though rocked their jumpsuit with the same silver grey colour but different designs as well.

JoJo left me at the altar and Banzi took my hand into his. We stared into each other's eyes. I found love in this same eyes.

Before the pastor could start the ceremony someone walked in clapping their hands. I looked at the door and found…Nthabiseng?
