'As everyone drops down to the floor with a thud, I look at Jordan with a sense of pride at my, I mean âourâ achievement. We haul them back to school and dump them in a cupboard and lock it up. Perfect.'
Chapter 10
~ Cleoâs Pov ~
Bang!
I swiftly open my eyes and squint as I get used to the bright light. I am squashed up against a side of a cupboard. Ouch.
The door is hanging open, probably still moving slightly as it had been bashed a lot. I see all my friends cower at my presence as I stand up in a swift motion outside the narrow cupboard. I do a double take at the size of the cupboard from the outside. Did we really all sleep in there?
I try and think as to why my friends are afraid of me. OMG. I remember. They saw me at my worst possible sight! They saw me feed! The looks they gave me, the feeling of distrust coming off of them in waves.
I try to speak but I keep reconsider. My friends start mumbling to themselves.
ââWell this is awkwardâ¦ââ Mackenzie mumbles to the others. I roll my eyes. She probably thinks I canât hear her.
ââYou do realise I can hear you?ââ I whisper.
Jerri nods. ââSo, are you actually a vampire or was it all fake? Iâm not too sure I believe you yet.ââ Faith questions.
ââWell, ye I am butâ¦ââ
I hear footsteps. Thud. Thud.
For the human ear, not a peep but for me, I hear it loud and clear.
ââBut what?ââ Autumn demands. I find my voice.
ââShh! They will hear you!ââ I whisper. ââMiss Patemanâs coming.ââ
We all try and huddle into the cramped cupboard again but it was no use. Miss Pateman knew. And so did I. She could hear us.
Thud. Closer and closer she came. It turned more into a clack as she approached us with her clickity clackity heels on the floor.
We all somehow managed to cram ourselves into the cupboard again. Click! The door shut.
But she stopped. I heard I button being pressed. And then came the spray. We tried to hold our breath and push our way out of the cupboard but the door was jammed!
By this point I was the only one left still holding my breath. Scarlett was still asleep because of how much vervain given to her. I had to breathe.
I felt myself slip away into the darkness. Not againâ¦

As I open my eyes once more I realise Iâm in school. The main hall to be precise. Miss Pateman is on a podium again as she speaks with some sort of authority in her voice. Her voice goes on and on.
âââ¦no mistakeâ¦realâ¦will not believeâ¦VAMPIREââ
That makes me come to my senses as I stand up in my cages that hovers 10ft off the ground.
All my friends are handcuffed to the doors facing towards me. They canât move. Thatâs my fault.
Everyone gasps as I feel a needle injected into me. I look and smell the syringes contents. Vervain. I smirk in content as I look down to my ring again, knowing it will be there again.
But the smile is wiped clean off my face as I look down to my hand. My ring is gone. Shit.
I start to change to my vampire form as everyone stares at me in horror. There is no going back now as I look down at my extended nails that have turned into claws. I know my face looks hideous too.
ââThis is the monster you have been working with at school. She had you fooled from the start. I am trained to hunt these immoral beasts until there are no more. Remember this day as her monsters might rule over the world. I am here to stop this. Kill or be killed. Which one do you prefer?ââ
She babbles on about me being a threat to society and stuff like that. Complete bull if you ask me.
I decide I had enough of this and put my hands on the metal cage. I melt it with fire. Faces turn as they watch me escape but do nothing about it. No wonder. They are scared of me. But their fear fuels the beast inside of me.
I drop to the floor like a pro and land on my feet no problem. I look around, give the âaudienceâ a 1000 dollar smile and sprint. I stop at the doors as I see my friends all tied up.
I donât know what came over me. My conscience says I canât leave them here like this. I thought I had no humanity left in me after what happened to my parents. But, after having good times with these people, I realise that a big crack in my humanity is shining through the darkness.
I snap my fingers as the cuffs unlock and drop to the floor. They gasp in surprise. I run off as quickly as possible not looking back.
As Iâm running, I realise something big. Everyone in the school still knows about me and they will all share my secret! I cannot let that happen! What will my people think of me when they find out?
I decide to put a hypnosis on the school so that when everyone leaves, they will forget what they saw. Only I can do this on a full scale basis as Iâm a royal.
I get into my car and speed off. Iâll try and forget this day, just like it never happend.
