Chapter 39: february

bloodredroses | poetryWords: 939

you're deprecation disguised as pretty butterflies,

flatter me with fleeting feelings and white lies

you bring adrenaline, amphetamine,

february with hints of spring -

and you promise me words you could never sing.

I despise how I romanticize

your fleeting feelings and fake highs

and I swear I tried for quite some times

to actually see

through all your smoke and nicotine -

but I can barely notice anything.

with only deceitful tension in your telephone wires

you go on and kill more butterflies

so I bury them beneath the skies -

I guess they won't come back for another night.

oh what a shame,

it was just a dream I had in mind

and all your beauty is lost

in your empty eyes.
