Rodney wept in pain and regret.
He wanted to know why he had become like that too.
However, his world had plunged into darkness.
The doctor removed the needle and said, âYoung Master, Iâll give him another injection after two hours, and everything will be alright.â
âWhen will he wake up?â Ryan asked with mixed feelings.
Playvolume00:12/00:42PUBFUTUREHARRYPOTTER1TruvidfullScreen âOne day later.â
âUntie him and send him back to the old residence after the injection.â
Ryan gave a weak and light sigh before patting Jessicaâs back. âPerhaps this is the best outcome for him.â
âI understand.â
Jessica took a long and deep breath. Then, she straightened her back and shut her eyes.
It might be a relief to forget certain things.
However, it would break her heart to see him become a fool.
âIâve told the doctor to reduce the dosage.â Ryan suddenly said, âHis intelligence will be similar to a ten-
year-old childâs.â
Jessica turned around and looked at him with surprise. Only after a while did she say, âThank you.â
Having a ten-year-old childâs intelligence was, at least, better than being a fool. He could laugh, play, and take care of himself. Moreover, he would be naive, which was good enough.
âYouâre welcome. After allâ¦heâs my family.â
Ryan did not feel too good about it either.
Despite everything, he had grown up with Rodney. There was, in fact, no need for them to have taken it that far.
Unfortunately⦠They were fortuneâs fools.
â¦.
After that, Ryan got busy handing over his work.
His affair with Freya also gradually subsided on the Internet.
A few days later, Ryan went home to report to his parents. âIâve already notified Professor Jacoby from the University of Canberra of the preliminary exam Iâll be sitting at the end of the month. I plan to move out of The Lodge for the time being to prepare for the exam because my place is closer to Professor Jacobyâs. Itâll also be more convenient for me to consult him whenever I have questions.â
Nathan snorted. âConsultation and studying are just excuses. Youâre planning to move out so that you can cultivate your romantic relationship, arenât you?â
ââ¦â
Nathan saw through Ryan in no time, but Ryan said composedly, âDad, donât accuse me. Iâve set my mind on studying.â
After pausing for a moment, Ryan added with a smile, âHaving said that, itâs indeed more convenient to cultivate my relationship if I live on my own. The Lodge is sometimes too far out when Iâm on a date.â
Heidi was under no illusions about her sonâs intention. Instead of stopping him, she asked, âAre you planning to live with Freya?â
âI do wish to live with herâ¦â
After Ryan finished speaking, his parents rolled their eyes at him. All he could do was touch his nose in embarrassment. âBut her parents wonât approve of it, and neither will Freya.â
Nathan let out a sigh of relief. He hoped that the two of them would not live together so soon.
It would be best if the two of them broke up.
Of course, Nathan was only thinking it to himself.
Should he stop Ryan? He could not be bothered to do so.
âDad, Mom, donât worry. If you ever need me, I promise that Iâll come right back.â Ryan said with a smile, âHaving said that, I havenât been able to live freely for the past 26 years. Now that Iâm going to pursue a Ph.D. for the next few years, can you let me relax sometimes? I can get tired as well.â
