Jessica could not understand why Forrest would think that she was at another manâs house.
She admitted that she had lied to him, but it was all because he tortured her so badly. Anyway, she was back home now.
âSay something. Is it because Iâve gotten it right and you canât refute what Iâm saying?â Forrest asked aggressively.
âForrest, you b*stard.â Jessica was too exhausted to argue with him anymore.
She slid down the bed with difficulty and used the bedsheet to cover her body. However, her legs were trembling in pain. It felt as though she would pass out the next moment.
âWhere are you going?â
Forrest gripped her wrist. âIâm asking you. Where are you going at this hour? Are you going to look for that man?â
âYou're crazy.â
Jessica could no longer stand him. Every word of his resembled a knife that pierced through her chest.
âForrest, to you, am I a shameless, despicable woman without a moral baseline? Is it because I forced you to marry me? Please think about it. If I wanted to trick you to sleep with me, would I have had to risk it with my marriage? What good would it do me? Would you feel better by thinking so badly of me?
I have no idea why youâ ve become like this.â
Her eyes reddened in spite of herself.
Although the man she used to love was a bit cold and did not smile much, he had a pure heart.
He would give other women the cold shoulder and the best of himself to Jessica.
He would stand by her side no matter what. However, what about now?
Jessica began to doubt herself.
What was her reason for scheming to get married to him?
Perhaps life had changed them into completely different people. Jessica was no longer the same as before, and neither was Forrest.
Relationships were just like sand. As much as she tried to hold the sand tightly in her hands, it would keep trickling through her fingers.
Forrest was stunned, and his throat bobbed with difficulty. âDo you think I wanted to do that? Who was the one that made me like this? I trusted you, but what did I get in return? How am I supposed to trust you now? Whatâs more, itâs a fact that you were at another manâs place tonight. Jessica, if you canât be loyal, donât drag me into the mess.â Things had always been that way, and he was also a human. He had feelings. He could feel pain and anger.
âLet me say this again. I have never wronged you, and Iâve never flirted with any man. I was only at a chairmanâs place to have dinner tonight and chatted with him about work. If you donât believe me, thereâs nothing I can do either.â
Jessica withdrew her hand. âI need to go to the hospital now. Please donât stop me.â
Forrest was stunned for a few seconds. By the time he looked back, he saw her staggering into the changing room. '
He tightened his fist and settled his eyes on the red spot on the bed.
A sense of annoyance suddenly overcame him, and he punched the wall.
A few minutes later, Jessica dragged her suitcase out with her legs trembling.
âWhat are you doing?â Forrestâs eyes narrowed.
âIâm going to the hospital. Then, Iâll move out.â Jessica had regained her composure, but her face was very pale. âIf this situation persists, Iâm afraid I'll lose my life.â
Forrest jerked. After that, he hurled her suitcase to the ground. âDream on. Since youâve moved in, you'll] stay here even if you die.â °
