Let me go, Mr. Hill [by Shallow South] Chapter 451 âWhatâs so hard about providing an example? Could she have hurt your ex-girlfriend or something?â
Catherine could not help but tease Shaun.
Shaunâs body jerked. He turned around and glowered at Catherine. âStop overthinking, can you? You just had to pick an argument with me over a woman you donât even know, huh? Whatâs the point?â
âAm I arguing with you?â Catherine wore a smile despite exuding a strong sense of coldness. âIâm trying to have a reasonable conversation with you, but youâre the one whoâs not answering my questions.â
âIâm not interested in arguing with you. Iâm hungry. I want to eat something.â Shaun walked to the door.
âCan you answer my last question? Are the three of you trying to trick and cheat me?â Catherine enunciated her every word while she stared at his back.
Shaun looked back again and narrowed his deep-set eyes that were now filled with anger. âHow many times do I have to repeat myself? Charityâs words cannot be trusted. Clearly, sheâs trying to tear us apart. Stop asking nonsensical questions, or Iâm going to lose faith in you.â
Catherine felt helpless in the face of Shaunâs criticism.
She did not mean to doubt it. However, Catherina could not forget the sympathetic look Charity gave her after she caught sight of Shelley. âAlright. Letâs stop arguing over Charity. Ask Shelley to leave and get another carer, then. I donât like her.â
Shaun curled his lips. âYouâve been saying so much and pulling a long face the whole night just because you canât stand Shelley and have no faith in me? You shouldâve said so. Isnât it tiring to beat around the bush?â
ââ¦â
Catherine shook.
It had been a while since she heard cruel remarks from him. It was probably because he had been pampering her these days.
Those remarks felt like a slap on her face.
âIf you insist on thinking of me this way, thereâs nothing I can do. Anyway, I canât coexist with Shelley in the house.â Catherine said bluntly, âShelley isnât the only carer in the hospital. There are other carers too.â
Smash.
A glass suddenly dropped at the door.
The two of them turned their eyes in that direction, wondering when Shelley had come. Her face was pale, her eyes were red, and there was milk spilled all over the floor.
A moment later, Shelley smiled bitterly with tears welling up in her eyes. âEldest Young Master, since Young Madam isnât fond of me, you should get another carer.â
Shaun furrowed his brows fretfully.
Shelley breathed in and forced a smile. âYou canât ruin your relationship because of me. I can understand that. After all, Iâm young. Iâve been trying to avoid this kind of situation, but itâs normal for Young Madam to feel uncomfortable about it.â
ââ¦â
Shaun pursed his thin, exquisite lips. A ghastly look crept across his face.
âI-Iâll pack and leave in no time.â Dazed, Shelley bent over to pick up the glass shards, but she accidentally cut her finger. Blood began dripping on the floor.
She forcefully wiped away the blood. However, the more she wiped it, the more blood she shed. At the same time, more tears were pouring down her face.
âItâs fine. Let Aunty Yasmine handle the shards.â Shaun pulled Shelley up and walked down the stairs.
Catherine walked down the stairs as well, where she saw Shaun shouting in the living room, âAunty Yasmine, whereâs the first aid kit? Can you help Shelley to bandage her finger?â
Aunty Yasmine swiftly came and helped Shelley bandage her finger with Shaun.
At the sight of the scene, anxiety began to fill Catherine.
A cold person like Shaun was actually worried about Shelley today. He even held her hand.
Was Shelley just a carer?
She nearly bought into it. Luckily, Charityâs remarks reminded her.
If Shelley continued to stay here, Shaun might end up more concerned for her.
All of a sudden, Catherine turned cold.
