Let me go, Mr. Hill [by Shallow South] Chapter 825 âIf you werenât useful to me, I wouldâve broken up with a pretentious woman like you a long time ago.â
Chester warned her sternly, âYou better stay put from now on and shut your mouth. If not, donât even think about being cast in a movie and making a comeback.â
With a pale face, Cindy nodded her head obediently.
Catherine had utterly ruined her reputation the last time. Besides appearing in some variety shows in the past few months, she had yet received a casting offer for a new movie. As such, she was counting on Chester.
âChester, I have something to say⦠But I donât know whether I should say it or notâ¦â She stammered.
âIf you think you shouldnât, then shut your mouth,â Chester scolded.
âNo. I just find it puzzling.â Cindy gritted her teeth. She had to finish her sentence. âYoung Master Hill had hurt Catherine so cruelly in the past. He put her on house arrest and caused her to miscarry. He even sent her to the mental hospital. If I were a woman, I wouldnât forgive him at all. But why is she suddenly ⦠back together with him again? Doesnât she feel uncomfortable?â
âWhat are you trying to say?â Chesterâs eyes narrowed.
Cindy was startled. âIâm afraid that Catherine is now trying to take revenge on Young Master Hill. This is just my instinct as a woman. Iâm not trying t o frame her intentionally. Iâm just scared that Young Master Hill will get hurt once he falls too deep in the relationship.â
âGo and order some food.â Chester shot her an icy glance.
âOkay.â Cindy nodded and ran out in a hurry to call the waiter.
Chester took a drag on his cigarette. He found it quite weird as well after Cindy mentioned it.
9:00 p.m.
A sports car was parked at the parking lot of Hackett Institute.
Catherine undid her seat belt. Just as she was about to get down the car, Shaun suddenly grabbed her.
His throat moved, but he did not know what to say.
They were having a good time during the meal. However, they became silent after Cindy came and messed things up.
âCathy, Iâm sorryâ¦â Shaun was filled with regret. If he knew that he would fall in love with her, he would never have been so ruthless back then.
âDo you still hate me?â
âItâd be a lie if I said I donât hate you. â Catherineâs eyes trembled. There was a hint of bitterness in her eyes. âWhenever I think about those two children when I was overseas, I wanted to chew your meat off desperately. When I came back, I was determined to make you guys suffer. But when you forced me to get a divorce, I realized I was still powerless to go against you guys. And now youâre here, wooing me. I feel conflicted and anxious.
Sometimes I want to get back together with you again, but sometimes Iâm really scaredâ¦â
Shaun pulled her into his embrace before she could finish her sentence. He hugged her tightly. âIt wonât happen anymore. Trust me. Iâll never hurt you again. I screwed up last time, Cathy. Letâs have a pair of twins again in the future, okay?â
Catherine chuckled with her eyes downcast. She sounded helpless. âDo you think itâs that easy to have twins?â
âThen, weâll have two kids. Our daughter will surely be as adorable as Suzie. â Somehow, when Shaun said that, he suddenly longed to have a child that belonged to them both.
âSuzieâ¦â
Catherine found it hilarious. Suzie was his daughter from the start.
However, she would never let Shaun find out. A person like him did not deserve to be a childâs father.
âWeâll talk about this again next time.â She looked up. âYou didnât eat much tonight. Are you hungry? I can go upstairs and make you some risotto.â
Shaunâs eyes lit up. He thought remembering the past would make her upset. He, too, was very anxious, but he did not expect her to still care for his stomach.
Especially when she invited him up on a night like that, he did not feel like going back.
Once they were upstairs, Catherine used yesterdayâs leftover rice and made risotto for Shaun. There were also ham, corn, and vegetables in it.
The whole room was filled with the fragrance of the food. Shaun devoured the whole plate of risotto. He used to complain that she made him risotto because she was too lazy to deal with him. However, he was not picky at all that day. Having something to eat was good enough.
