Sidharth looked at her and then quickly checked his phone and saw the date.
Sidharth- it's not even April? Why are you joking around with me?
Shehnaz- Sir, I am not joking with you. It's my official resignation letter. Don't worry I have everything under control, I will be here for a month keep everything at place and then leave after handing over my duties.
Sidharth- You're not into your senses right now. The wine has got into your head I will talk to you tomorrow. No questions!
Before Shehnaz could even say anything, he left quickly.
The next morning Shehnaz entered his office with his tie and said, Good morning sir.
Sidharth smiled and thought Definetly she was drunk! Thankgod.
She holds his arms and then starts to tie it around his neck.
Shehnaz- So I wanted to talk to you, may I?
Sidharth nodded and sat down on his chair.
Shehnaz kept the resignation letter on the table and all the colours from his face disappeared.
Sidharth- I don't have time for this nonsense-
Shehnaz gravely smiled and sternly kept her hand on the table with a slight bang and said, It's no nonsense I am REALLY RESIGNING.
Sidharth angrily got up and said, Why? Is it because I cancelled your last trip?
Shehnaz- No I-
Sidharth- Is it because I bought you a costly purse without your consent?
Shehnaz- Sir listen-
Sidharth- Is it because some company offered you something big- Aah that can't be possible. You aren't the one to go after money- is it because-
Shehnaz banged her hand on the table and said, Sir will you listen to me?
Sidharth gulped and nodded.
Shehnaz- It's because I am 29-
Sidharth- Aj Shehnaz you know that age doesn't matters for me! You can work with me till the end.
Shehnaz looks at him shocked and Said, Are you serious? You don't want to settle down or have anyone but I do. I have started to see someone, and I want to get married. Have kids, and have my own family.
Sidharth looked at her super shocked and said- You- you said what?
Shehnaz- I have started to see someone.
Sidharth couldn't believe his ears, he slowly but gravely said- Take you lie back right now.
Shehnaz scoffed in disbelief and said You think I am lying with you right now? What's wrong with me having a boyfriend?
Sidharth thought, I never let her have any time for dates then how is this possible?
Sidharth- I reject.
Shehnaz- I am gonna leave!
Sidharth took a deep breath and said, Shehnaz you need a good vacation! Your mind-
Shehnaz went closer towards him like a predactor towards its prey.
As the heels clinked she went close to his face with her eyes full of warming and she said- Quit acting like a kid Sir!
Sidharth scoffed and said I am being a kid? Actually you know what? I grant your resignation. You think I couldn't function without you? Wait!
Sidharth took out his pen and looked at her with anger and then at the paper while his hands shaked but he signed it.
Sidharth- I don't need you, just prepare the next one and you can leave. Get married, have a painful c section, get painful cramps, enjoy your life with a man who just farts and asks you to bring him tea. Be with a mediocre guy! Huh!
Sidharth looked away like a kid, while Shehnaz smiled with anger and said SURE! Thankyou sir! I have so much to do so I will take a leave.
Sidharth doesn't say anything and Shehnaz leaves shutting the door too hard.
Sidharth goes near his mirror and sets his hair and thinks, Hah her loss. She lost the opportunity to work with the Male godesss.
Sidharth started to work but his mind ran over the thoughts as she said, I am seeing someone.
Weird feelings took place inside him, and he called his younger brother, Rahul.
Sidharth- It's a national emergency come to my OFFICE RIGHT NOW.
Rahul- but I am sculpting my new figure!
Sidharth- 1lakh!
Rahul- Abhi aya bhaiya!
Sidharth rubbed his temples and sighed.
Rahul came in running and sat down on the seat and said, What's up?
Just then his eyes went to the resignation letter on the table.
He chuckled and said, Ab kaun tang aagya apse?
Sidharth angrily glared at him which made him raise his hands in surrender but he opened the letter and his eyes widened.
Rahul- What? Shehnaz is leaving?
Sidharth- Exactly. And do you know the reason?
Rahul- Because she has started to see someone?
Sidharth looked at him again shocked and said, How do you know?
Rahul- Well, one day I saw her with a man in a cafe. They pretty much looked close, plus what do you expect? She's 29, and in India Abhi tak toh auntiyan bache karne ki baate karne lag jati hai! I hope you didn't think that she would have been with you for the rest of her life?
Sidharth looked at confused and said Why can't she be with me for the rest of my and hers life?
Rahul- Because she will eventually get married, she takes care of you like a wife. Now she will take care of her husband and maybe he refuses her to work. Then she will have kids, she takes care of you like a kid how can she manage both?
Sidharth looked up at the ceiling and imagined Shehnaz kissing another man and holding his baby.
His got up and shouted NOOOOOOO!
Rahul- Yes!!!!
Sidharth- What can I do? Bigger package? Should I name some shares on her? Or take her for a vacation? Or how about-
Rahul- Stop right here bhai! You know she's not that kind to like materialistic things. She even scolds you for buying costly things for her.
Sidharth slumped down on the chair with a sigh and said what should I do then?
Rahul sipped his tea and casually said, marry her.
Sidharth- WHAT?
Rahul- To keep her, marry her.
Sidharth ran to his mirror and ran his hands over his body and said, So you mean she's the luckiest human to marry a god like me?
Rahul- Actually not. You're not her type!
Sidharth dramatically turned and said What do you mean? I am THE TYPE. Everyone's type!
Rahul- Well, she has been working with you for 9 years, isn't it way more than enough for her to fall in love with you? But did she? She fell for a normal man.
Sidharth- Then THATS her misfortune! You know what I don't care.
Rahul smirked knowingly and sipped his tea.
Sidharth rubbed his temples and sighed again.
Rahul made a call and said Shehnaz please come in.
Sidharth- Why did you call her-
Shehnaz- Yes Sir?
Rahul- His head is hurting!
Shehnaz quickly went back and came with a big box.
Shehnaz- You again shouted or stressed yourself? Have this medicine quickly to calm you down. I will get your favourite iced Americano right now, with a cookie okay? Relax. And also, regarding that project with the Germans I have created a whole report for it.
And for that employ who was intitiaing the hunger strike has been given his compensation. You don't need to worry for that. Also, wait.
Shehnaz went closer towards his face and touched his cheeks lightly and said, Why is it red? You forgot to apply your sunscreen this morning? Wait lemme get yours, also I have ordered your food along with Rahul Sir's food. As it's not your cheat day today, you will continue with your salad okay? You relax here while I handle the other work.
If there's nothing then can I leave?
Sidharth looked at her in a daze while Rahul tried to hide his laughter and looked at Shehnaz and nodded.
Rahul- Will you ever find someone like her?
Sidharth gets up and stands at the glass door of the room and sees Shehnaz talking to people very fluently and smiling at them.
Sidharth keeps his hand on the glass and says, The day I met her I thought I would keep her for the rest of my life. But as time passed with her always with me, I forgot about keeping and took her for granted. And never knew that one day, she would leave.
Meanwhile Rahul quickly scribbles the dialogue and says, Woah this is gonna be in my next story.
Rahul- So you like her?
Sidharth with a straight face said, No.
Rahul sighs and shakes his head that his brother couldn't be more narcissist.
But Sidharth slowly whispers, I love her.
Rahul looks at him shocked and then dramatically looks up in the sky and says WHAT IS THIS MIRACLE? CAN SIDHARTH BHAI LOVE ANYONE OTHER THAN HIMSELF?
Rahul gets up and says, Then you must do something!
Sidharth looks at him and says - What?
Rahul- First lemme find more about that boyfriend and see what level he is at!
Sidharth- obvio Lower than me!
Rahul- But still he was picked by Shehnaz!
Sidharth glares at him and said, Don't waste my time and go find out.
Rahul- I will charge for this!
Sidharth- Okay now leave!
Rahul jumps happily and goes out, while Sidharth goes towards his cupboard and opens a box.
He picks up a slip and opens it. It says, I want to be the best worker so that my seniors doesn't tease me.
Sidharth smiles at he goes back into Flasback.
A 20 year old Shehnaz was sitting with the group of her colleagues looking down as some tried to pull her leg saying she's so clumsy and she got this job because of Sidharth.
Sidharth sees her face and sits down next to her as everyone talks.
Just then a empty speaks up and says, Let's play a game. The game's name is the DREAM PROTECTOR.
Everyone will write their dreams and keep it here and everyone will pick up chits and whoever gets it will be the dream protector and helper of that person okay?
Sidharth- I don't have any dreams, all of mine are fulfilled.
Everyone scoffed in their mind but faked smiles and started to write theirs.
A naive Shehnaz looked at him with big smile and says, dream sometimes doesn't means that you have to accomplish some materialistic goals. Like my dream could be to even be happy you know?
Sidharth looked into her eyes and felt a tug, he nodded and scribbled his dream down.
Soon everyone had to pick one, Sidharth picked one and it read- I want to be the best worker so that my seniors doesn't tease me. - Shehnaz.
Sidharth looked at the dream and then at her face who still smiled.
An employ- Sir who's dream did you get?
Sidharth- I have to go, you guys play these mundane games.
Sidharth got up and left but kept the chit on the pocket near his heart.
The next day, he called Shehnaz and said I kept you in the management department right?
Shehnaz nods.
Sidharth- You are my secretary from now on.
Shehnaz looks at him shocked and said, Sir me? How? I mean I can't-
Sidharth- Be my secretary or resign.
Shehnaz smiles brightly and says I PROMISE I WILL BE THE BEST SECRETARY FOR YOU!!!!!
A knock interrupts his thought and he sees Shehnaz smile at him.
Shehnaz- My work is done a little early. Can I go?
Sidharth sighs and whispers to himself, no.
But he looks up and says, Go.

Before starting this book and even in the first chapter I said how the book is inspired and adapted from a webtoon which maybe has some drama too??
I have read that webtoon and it stricked me so much that I wanted to make a sidnaaz one on it.
Inspiration and adaptation means the plot would be the same, like for example a cold boss and a meek girl but the incidents and the things change .
The plot is same, but how the story proceeds and how are the characters is what I am working on.
I hope it clears all the doubts for once and all .
