The next day in college, Sidharth was sitting in the library looking through books when Ahaan came and sat down next to him.
Ahaan- Bro Thankyou so much for yesterday, you know she literally talked to me and I think it went really good.
Sidharth smiled and said, Dont worry I will help you more!
Ahaan slapped his forearm and said, You're my brother!
Sidharth chuckled and nodded.
In the mid of the day, Sidharth was walking towards the lab when he saw Shehnaz walking holding a lot of books in his hands.
His involuntary movement was to help her, but he stopped and saw Ahaan coming.
He smiled and slowly raised his index finger and made the books fall.
Ahaan saw it and came running towards her, when Sidharth made Shehnaz fall so that Ahaan could hold her.
Just when Ahaan's eyes fell on the test paper and he bent down to hold it forgetting he had to hold Shehnaz, Sidharth's smile dropped when he realised she was going to fall bad.
He quickly ran in his magical speed and just when she was about to touch the ground, he quickly held her by her waist and she gasped due to the contact.
Shehnaz looked up at his face who was looking at her with a lot of concern, she gulped as his face was so close to her.
Sidharth quickly made her stand up, but she winced in pain.
Ahaan quickly held her hand and said, I am sorry I-
Shehnaz ignored him and looked at sidharth questionably and said- I didn't see you in this whole empty hallway how did you come so quickly?
Sidharth bit his lip and said, I was just here only in this class, you might have not seen me.
Shehnaz snatched the question paper from Ahaan's hand who was trying to read it quickly.
Shehnaz winced again and held all the books back and walked towards her direction.
Sidharth tilted his head a little and saw her ankle swollen.
He looked back at Ahaan who was trying to memorise the questions he saw, he said- Why the hell didn't you save her?
Ahaan- I was going to save her but then my eyes fell on the paper!
Sidharth sighed and said If you see her falling and then a question paper who would you save first?
Ahaan- Ques- Shehnaz!
Sidharth shook his head and took out an ointment and said, Her ankle is swollen ask her to put it or even better you do it alright?
Ahaan- How did you know?
Sidharth- She was limping while she was walking, NOW QUICKLY GO.
Ahaan patted his shoulder and ran towards Shehnaz while Sidharth sighed and thought, Its way difficult than I thought.
Just then he looked at his hands which were red and a little sparkles could be seen.
He looked at it confused and said Why is my hand tingling?
He shook his head and went towards the direction where both of them would be.
He saw Shehnaz sitting near the bench, and was trying to rotate her leg.
Just then Ahaan came in and said, I am really sorry Shehnaz! I am really stupid! I promise I won't even attempt that paper okay? See I got you some ointment I saw you limping, can I put it on your feet?
Shehnaz looked at him surprised and said, You noticed it?
Ahaan- Y-yes Yes! How could I not?
Shehnaz- Okay Thankyou but I will apply it on my own.
Ahaan smiles brightly and says Works!!!
Shehnaz looked at her side for a moment and then took the ointment as Ahaan left and tried to apply it on her feet.
Sidharth sighed thinking that she's really very stubborn.
She had her feet on the bench and she tried to apply it, Sidharth clicked his fingers and everything in the college froze.
Even the leaf falling from the tree stopped, Shehnaz froze with her face down looking at the wound.
Sidharth walked up towards her and slowly took her feet on his laps and said, You're so stubborn Shehnaz I swear! Why can't you get your wound aided?
Sidharth touched her wound and his eyes squinted a little as he saw it was so red.
He unknowingly caressed the ankle and sighed, he blobbed some medicine on her wound and slowly massaged it all over her ankle.
He looked back at her face which was looking at the wound frozen, he saw the strand of hair on her nose and her lips.
His hands itched and he very delicately places the strand back behind her ears.
He slowly patted her hair and said, Dont be so stubborn okay?
He then got up and quickly went back into the college and clicked his fingers again and everything became back to normal.
Shehnaz shivered a little, and she looked at her wound which was aided. She sighed and placed her foot back and kept the medicine in her bag.
It was the last class of the day, the professor came in and said We have a project lined up. And it's graded, so carefully do it.
I am assigning the project, so the teams are here as follows.
(He takes the name of the people)
Then he says, for Shehnaz's team,
We have, Asim,Meeti, Sidharth and...
Sidharth raised his hands and said, AHAAN SIR AHAAN!
Just then a group spoke up, then we will have less members!
Shehnaz looked at sidharth pissed off, he said- I can swap.
Just then Meeti spoke up- no ways!!!! You have to be in our team, right baby?
Asim nodded.
Shehnaz looked at him shocked and thought Why does he always wants to be away from me?
Ahaan- Professor we have 3 more people and they can fill the space. I will go with them.
Sidharth smiled in content while Ahaan came and sat down with them happily.
Meeti was side hugging her boyfriend Asim tightly and said, So guys let's meet today at this amazing cafe! I have heard the food is greaaaaat!
Shehnaz with a blank face said, No.
Sidharth- Yes! I would love to come!
Ahaan- Then even I am not coming.
Asim- Sidharth Bro you come we will have some great food.
Shehnaz side glanced at him and played with her fingers for a while and said, Well.. if we.. work on the project then I will.
Ahaan smiled and said Same!
Meeti- OFCOURSE!!!!
Meeti and Asim got up and said, So see you guys at 6pm. I'll whatsapp you the adress. Wait Shehnaz can I get your number?
Shehnaz- NO!
Meeti pouted, when Sidharth said Don't worry she's my neighbour I will get her along with me.
Shehnaz got up, packed her items and left while Sidharth looked at Ahaan and said You better dress up nicely.
When Shehnaz went home she quickly went to wash her hair and do her skin care. She didn't even know why was she so anxious.
She started to take her clothes out, she took all her clothes out and looked at them angrily.
She kicked her clothes in frustration and thought, WHY AM I NOT SO SOCIAL? I REALLY NEED SOME GOOD CLOTHES.
Meanwhile it was 4:40, Sidharth was about to enter when he saw that the door is open.
He entered the house and went towards her room and saw her punching in the air angrily and kicking her dresses all around.
Sidharth cleared his throat and Shehnaz froze.
She slowly looked down at her outfit, she was in the worst faded pajamas with a little torn top with some food stuck on it.
She screamed- HOW DID YOU GET IN?
Sidharth closed his ears and said, ouch! Through the door Shehnaz!
Meanwhile Sidharth looked at the mess and smiled.
Sidharth- You really wanna dress up to impress?
Shehnaz looked at him shocked and said what? No! Huh no!
Sidharth smiled and said, The first stage of having a crush is denial.
Shehnaz's ears turned pink and she said, What crush? Huh?
Sidharth shook his head and then looked around and said, Woah this tee is sick.
Shehnaz forgot everything and happily said, I know right! This is my favourite band, I love the dark theme they had.
Sidharth looked at her face and his heart beat loudly; for the first time she smiled. Her eyes shone as she smiled. No clothes, no makeup could make her look way more ethereal the way her smile did.
He shook his head and said, Then wear this!
Shehnaz looked at him confused and said shouldn't I wear a dress?
Sidharth- Do you like wearing one?
Shehnaz shook her head no.
Sidharth- Then wear what you like.
Shehnaz nodded and kicked him out of the room and quickly wore the baggy shirt along with skinny jeans and her converse.
She looked in the mirror and left her hair to airdry and quickly ran out with him.
They were the first ones to come here, they sat down and looked around at the cozy cafe.
Sidharth got up admiring it and said, Woah! The theme is-
Shehnaz- Cupids I know.
Sidharth smiled and said, It's so beautiful!
Shehnaz looked at his face and saw him running his hands through the heart drawn on the wall and her heart sped up quickly.
His words rang in her mind, THE FIRST STEP OF HAVING A CRUSH IS DENIAL.
