23. Libra To The Rescue

Michael Nordstrom's small apartment was filled with people when Libra, Sophia and Jack burst through the door. Sophia had demanded an explanation on the way over and Libra had told them everything about the strange encounter between Dillon and her, a couple of nights ago. Jack hadn't been able to stop talking about how badly Dillon seemed to want her but Libra had ignored those words and kept a steady focus on getting to Michael's apartment. Now they were here and needed to form some sort of plan in order to get Dillon out of here and possibly to a hospital.

"There's only one bathroom so he has to be in there," Jack said and pointed at a closed door with a huge line outside.

Different groans came from the queue and Libra concluded that Keith and Dillon must've been in there for quite some time. She snuck closer to the door and heard two guys talking about how they were about to take a leak in the sink if the door didn't open soon. Libra got a hold of her phone and called Dillon's number again while praying Keith wasn't too drunk to answer it.

"You're calling again," he stated with a tired voice, "Dillon is busy and doesn't have time to—"

"I'm outside the bathroom door, open up!" She demanded, quite surprised at her fearless voice.

She heard Keith move and suddenly the door unlocked just as she placed herself in front of it, earning swearwords from the drunken people outside it. Libra waved Jack and Sophia over and they quickly snuck into the bathroom while hearing screams from outside. On the floor, next to the toilet, laid Dillon Holden spread with his legs spread out and clutching the toilet seat with his hands. His eyes were shifting between fluttering open and closed while he made grunting noises for each second that passed.

"Oh shit this looks worse than I first thought," Sophia exclaimed and rushed over to Dillon while Libra and Jack were frozen by the door. Keith was resting his back against the wall next to the shower simply observing. "Libra get over here and help me get him up, you were the one who wanted rescue him in the first place!"

Libra snapped out of her frozen state and rushed over to Dillon and Sophia to help her get him on his feet. He made a deep grunting noise as they got him on his feet and placed themselves underneath his arms to support him. Jack had rinsed out the toothbrush holder, filled it with water and held it to Dillon's lips for him to drink.

"He needs to drink a lot of water," he stated and coddled Dillon into drinking some of it before he turned his head and shook it 'no'.

"Libra," Dillon said and looked in to her eyes for a brief second before his eyes shut once again and his body went limper.

"It's okay Dillon we're going to get you home safe." Libra soothed him and let her hand caress his back as they tried moving toward the door. For a moment she thought the butterflies had returned back but quickly remembered herself not to focus on that right now.

Keith pushed himself of the wall and grunted for Libra and Sophia to step aside for him and Jack to take over. Dillon was, not so smoothly, switched over from Libra and Sophia's arms into Jack and Keith and the girls assisted in opening the doors. Outside people were shocked to see an almost unconscious young man being carried out of the bathroom and it was as if their impatient waiting had been wiped clean as they now stood there in silence. Far in the background Libra heard someone speculate 'is he dead?'

"This is exactly the type of drama I wanted to ignore," muttered Keith, "I'll help you carry him to the elevator but after that you're on your own."

"Some friend you are," Sophia retorted back as Keith shuffled over Dillon into Libra's arms and headed back inside.

They became standing outside of the elevator while Libra tried to compose herself for the journey downstairs. She knew this was not the time to drag him down a flight of stairs and also wished she could hop in the elevator with ease but she just couldn't. Sophia looked tired and Jack had a look on confusion on his face as he tried to read the situation.

"Take the stairs, me and Jack will take him in the elevator." Sophia sighed and motioned for her to go right away so they wouldn't have to wait for her.

Libra nodded but was standing still, her brain working overtime. She spun two scenarios in head and came to the conclusion that if they dropped of Dillon in his apartment, given that he carried his keys, no one would be there to supervise him in case anything happened during the night. But if they brought him to their apartment Libra could check on him every now and then to make sure he wasn't dying and possibly take him to the hospital.

Completely in the moment and out of the blew Libra said, "Take him down to our place and I'll look after him tonight. I can get him back to his room tomorrow morning."

And then she walked toward the staircase, ready to meet them on the floor below.
