Please note, this story is a historical fantasy that takes place after the French Revolution. As you'll see, certain events have had different outcomes, but you can plot this story's time period in the early 1800's. I've always had a love for the history of France and French culture, but in case you're unfamiliar with it, I'll be leaving historical and cultural annotations in the form of in-line comments throughout the story.
