CHAPTER 14: Do you only have eyes for anything with a vagina?
It's a Love-Hate relationship
"Yeah. I've actually heard of her. Sexy, so to say." Shawn says while wiggling his eyebrows in a suggestive manner.
The dork.
"I curse the bad timing we have. Why are we not in our final year? Ugh!" Austin whines while playing with some of his Coke that spilled.
Sometimes, I really wonder what this boy's purpose in life is.
Well, it's not like I have it figured out. Hah. I could really play hypocrisy well, couldn't I?
"Though that won't stop me from going over to her office and...uh... borrowing some papers. You know, extra credits and all that shit." Shawn continues blabbering as I try to look for Maddie. She still wasn't back from her class and here I was, stuck in the middle of horny ass buffoons who were literally undressing some supposedly new young teacher in their minds.
Yes, I'm still seated with the Soccer Suckers.
Yes, I still haven't figured a way out.
And no, Caleb isn't here. Thank goodness. I hadn't spotted him after our little class fight back during Literature. At this point, my hatred for him was way more than love for pizza.
Which is very far-thrown and extremely extreme by the way.
So you could imagine how deep my hatred now was for him.
I don't know what made him suddenly jump to that idiotic conclusion but whatever it was â his judgmental personality or just the lack of ability to be polite â I hated him. That was the bottom line.
Wasn't the term spoilt brats referred to kids who HAVE parents who spoil and pamper them with all the love and affection they had?
I had nothing in the statement above.
My entire mindset on Caleb changed. You know, just to expect a little politeness or manners from someone like Caleb was even a lot to do. And he totally proved me right.
I continue rolling my eyes at the stupid comments Shawn, Austin and Blake were throwing around and about. My eyes wander off near the door to look for Maddie but I see something more that makes me want to rip my butt right off this chair.
Jason and Aaron relaxingly walk in-
WHAT THE FUCK?
There was no way they sit here... right? If only I spent my time analyzing who sits where then this day wouldn't come? But no. Stupid me just has to put my soul and heart into eating food.
If I do ever break into a fight with Caleb, I never in a million years wish for any of my brothers present there.
I very well know how that's going to end.
My fears are undoubtedly true as the two walk right towards our table and sit down opposite me.
"Sumo! What are you doing here?" Aaron says excitedly as he grins and looks around, expecting an answer from someone. Yeah, Aaron... I don't exactly have the answer to that. I was more like physically blackmailed by a certain Blake Daniels.
I look to my left and glare at Blake who innocently smiles at me as if he didn't leave a dent on my poor arm.
"Blake, over here, assaulted me into sitting here." The glare on Jason's face doesn't even take 0.23 seconds to appear. He was even faster than the flash.
Just that Barry was hotter than Jason could ever be. Duh.
"What?" Jason grits his teeth while squishing the life out of the poor Cola bottle he was holding.
"Nothing man. She's lying. She would have cried or scram or something that a typical girl would do. Chill dude. We know better than teasing a captain's little sister." Shawn absentmindedly says as he picks on his fries.
"Uh oh." Immediately those words come out of Aaron's mouth, I punch Shawn on his left arm and kick his foot at the same time.
"Don't ever call me a typical girl. And Jason's little sister."
"Got it... Summer. Ow! You would have simply said it! What was the fucking need of punching my arm?" He whines like a little girl while the rest holler and snicker at my sudden outburst.
"She was a boxer in her previous life, bro. Leave it while you've learned your lesson." Jason smirks and says while I roll my eyes at Shawn's changing-by-the-second expressions.
"I certainly learned it." He mutters and turns his body slightly away from me to whisper something to Blake. I chuckle and continue looking for dumb Maddie. Just then, I see her trotting over to our table â I have to get accustomed to saying that.
"I got the art project titles! Yay! I've been waiting so long for them, Summer. Finally. Finally, yes!" She drags the chair excitedly around her but doesn't sit.
"Hey to you too." I give her a tight-lipped smile and rest my head on my fist.
"Ha! Sorry." She sheepishly says and continues, "I'm just excited Mr. Mark gave me the project titles. Now that means I get to head all the projects you guys do." She squeals once again and proceeds on to tell the rest what it was all about.
Oh. Art. Huh. Funny topic. Shall we-
Oh, fuck it. Of course, we have to talk about it. Ugh.
Here goes. I'm the Picasso of art, okay?
Alright, jokes' time is over. I totally suck at art, to be honest. I couldn't even draw a house let alone any piece of complicated work we are always told to do. There was always one thing I never had â any art materials â and one thing my teacher lacked which was Summer Jones' attention. He says it's like trying to turn the color black to white.
How ironic coming out of him.
"Of course. You would get them. Totally deserved them, beautiful." Guess who. He winks at Maddie and I don't miss the blush that forms on her snow white cheeks afterward.
Oh god. You've got to be kidding me.
"Do you only have eyes for anything with a vagina?"
"As a matter of fact, yes sweetheart. Oh and don't forget boobs."
"Huh. Never doubted that coming from someone with the same traits." The guys shout and laugh loudly, enough to attract the entire canteen's attention. Something that I was not a fan of.
"My god. You hurt my feelings. Wanna see what I got?" Shawn irritatingly continues getting closer. Didn't I just punch him a while ago?
"Well, I'm sorry, honey. It will be a very short conversation." I whisper and poke his chest, shoving him slightly and then standing. Everyone howls like owls and Shawn glares at me for a few seconds then grins mischievously.
"You never fail to surprise me, darling." He lifts his legs over the chair and turns his back to the rest in order to see me.
"I'm full of surprises then- "I walk backward and suddenly turn. Someone's hand hits my nose and my hands flail towards it. I suddenly lose my balance but their firm hands hold my lower back in a tight grip. My hands still continue to nurse my poor nose and as I open my eyes angrily, I'm met with a pair of the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen.
Fuck blue eyes. This is the shit.
The grey eyes squinted as if they were studying me. My anger vanishes into thin air and for a moment, I get lost in those mesmerizing orbs.
Up until I'm dropped.
"Fuck!" I curse as my back hits the hard floor and I glare angrily at Caleb. Of course, it had to be him to drop me. He stares at me for about 2 seconds then shakes his head as if he was snapping out of something. He clenches his jaw and walks away to the direction he came from. I continue muttering tiny ow's and ah's as I feel like my spinal cord broke until I see a hand in sight. I look up to a smiling Noel who holds his hand out for me to hold.
"Rough fall, huh?" I couldn't miss the slight French accent to Noel's words and I'm reminded of our old partnership during chemistry. I take his hand and stand up while groaning.
"Thanks to your friend there." I monotonously say and frown at stupid Caleb's stupid behavior.
"Uh well. He's a little grumpy for now." Noel looks behind him to look for Caleb who left the moment he graciously dropped me.
"Yeah, I think that's his all-time emotion." I roll my eyes and look back at the table to see everyone conversing normally like they didn't notice the little encounter I had with Caleb.
I mean, it's good they didn't see it actually. They would have anyways made a mountain out of a molehill. Especially a certain best friend of mine who was against the idea that I don't do dating stuff.
"No. Not at all, Summer. He was actually pissed before so..." Noel scratches his head like he wasn't supposed to be saying that and I somehow doubt it to be related to the class incident. I won't be surprised if Caleb told him about it. They are best friends after all.
"Uh huh. Whatever. We don't get along anyways." We continue walking towards the exit, side by side.
"Judging by how you two met, I would say definitely." He chuckles and I laugh while nodding my head.
Just as I turn my head, I see Veronica glaring at me-
EXCUSE ME, WHAT?!
Why the fuck was she staring at me like that? I was certainly not with her boyfriend slash pet toy right now so cross that out. I most definitely did not have anything in limited edition that she wanted. They were merely clothes that were edited from my so-called wardrobe.
So what was she glaring at me for?
"Hey!" Noel nudges my elbow and I quickly turn back to him, "I asked you what's your next lesson?"
"Oh. Um... I guess Math." I turn again to see Veronica smiling all fake to her minions and wondering what the hell I did to her again.
"Cool. We all have Math. Let's go." I nod and walk off with Noel, but not before thinking of what Veronica had to do with me.
