John Murphy: Baby Lets Find Home
The 100 Imagines/OneShot
"Murphy..." You whisper breathlessly, pausing to catch your breathe. Murphy turns around and comes over to you, gently pulling on your arm.
"I know baby, I know. Come on we gotta keep going...Here let me take Annika." Murphy nudges you on with his words, gentle and kind as the day you met him. He reaches out and takes your three month old daughter from you and starts walking again. You two were following Jaha to the City of Light; it was risky yes, but no more than staying in the same fences as Pike. You were terrified of where Arkadia was headed so you took the first opportunity to get out. All you dreamed of was for this traitorous venture to end in a safe place to raise your child with the man you loved.
"How...How much further?" You asked, you knew it was a stupid question, Jaha knew just as well as anyone how far the City was. It could be days, or minutes, no one knows.
"I don't know baby, here drink some water." Murphy murmurs, handing you a water bottle. You knew better than to tempt yourself with it but you took the bottle and drank, only making your thirst worse.
It felt like it had been days. Your legs were numb, there was more sand than air in your lungs, everything burned and itched. You thought this was as bad as it could get, but you were oh so wrong. Just when you started to think hell was over, the first land mine went off.
"Baby don't move!" Murphy screamed, he kept his eyes lock on you and Annika. You never held on to someone as tightly as you did in those moments. Annika began screaming and crying, the loud bang scaring her.
"Murphy! Murphy I'm scared!" You yelled, your eyes glued to the lying sand beneath you.
"I know, I know, its gonna be okay. I'm gonna get to you, I'm gonna get us out of this." Murphy always has a knack of being a rock for you when shit hit the fan. He had a way of talking to you that calmed you enough to breathe, to feel okay. You trusted him.
Any normal person would believe land mines is as bad as it can get while carting a baby cross county. You truly thought you had survived the worst and it was smooth waters here on out, until a big ass worm fish thing came out of the fucking water and ate one of your men. You held on tightly to your child and Murphy, trying to not cry.
"Murphy what the FUCK" You yelled, causing Jaha to hush you violently. You pushed yourself against Murphy's chest and kept your eyes on the water. The water stayed calm though, almost as if you had sated the beast with your sacrifice. As the night went on and Annika slept peacefully in your arms, sleep came for you. It was dark and cold the rhythmic swaying of the boat made it hard to, but soon enough you closed your eyes and fell instantly to sleep.
You awoke to Murphy shaking you softly, grinning down at you. You smiled back, you hadn't seen a smile from him like that in all too long. You gazed up at him as he took your hand.
"I've got something to show you-"
"Wait, where's Annika?!" You cut him off, a worried tone clouding your voice.
"Baby- Baby she's fine, she's in the house." He says, grinning ear to ear. You thought you heard him wrong, when you questioned it, he simply nodded and led you further inland. Only a couple steps and you noticed the huge lighthouse, a few more and you noticed the open door. He led you inside, through the hall, to the living room where Annika was playing on the floor with a stuffed bear.
"She's eaten, had a bath, and is happily playing." Murphy spoke quietly, tears welling up in your eyes. You looked around at the beautiful place, completely star struck. You turned and flung yourself into his arms and began to cry into his collar. Your dream had finally come true, your family was safe.
