Chapter 12

11. Bride In The Trunk!

Dark Temptation!

Author's POV

Arthur looked at her from head to toe. He couldn't understand why she was leaving without saying anything when she was the one who approached him.

And it was also confusing why the young girl like her is in a wedding dress.

Arabella looked at his hold on her wrist. His was equally handsome as Oliver but had a serious look on his face unlike Oliver who mocked and played with her.

"Sorry, I need to go."

She said awkwardly. She was nervous but he wasn't scaring her like Oliver so thankfully she was able to speak.

Arthur didn't let go of her hand.

"What do you want?"

His voice was dark and deep. He was curious to know why this angelic beauty approached him.

Arabella looked back at Julie and saw her still struggling to collect money. She knows that Knights are rich and if she could try then she might get the charity. It was important for Matilda's treatment.

She looked at his face. Something twisted in her stomach when she looked into his enchanting grey orbs.

"Money!"

She mumbled embarrassed.

His frown deepened.

"Money?"

She felt awkward, not used to all these things.

"Charity I mean..."

Her voice was weak.

"I need to buy medicines."

He looked behind her and saw her friend who was doing the same thing. Julie's attire told him that they were doing some play and that's why she is dressed as a bride.

The most beautiful and innocent bride he has ever seen. Her face was like an innocent dove.

He let go of her hand and grabbed his wallet. He didn't have much cash with him but he grabbed it all and handed it to her.

His heart felt something foreign for the first time when she saw her soft smile after taking the money. It was swirling in his body like intoxication.

She took the money from him but realised that she didn't need that much. She handed him back half of it.

"This will work..."

She quickly turned around and rushed back to her friend.

Arthur looked at her and the money she handed him back, he chuckled at her naive behaviour and placed the wallet back in his pocket.

"Little innocent dove!"

"Oh my god, are you smiling?"

His bodyguard came back and looked at him stunned.

Arthur cleared his throat and frowned at him.

"Keep it in trunk."

He ordered looking at the bags he was holding.

Arabella gave the money to Julie and she jumped in happiness.

"Oh my god! Wow, how did you get this from one person?... We should use your innocent face more... By the way did you thank him?"

She shook her head.

"I forgot!"

"Oh, Arabella! You need to thank them or else they won't help you next time."

Julie scolded her.

"Go and thank them."

Arabella nodded and turned around to go back. She crossed the street to approach him again but before she could reach him, he sat inside the car while his bodyguard was placing the bags in the trunk.

She was about to call him but she saw her uncle and panicked. She looked around to find the place to hide but there was nothing.

The bodyguard was about to close the trunk but he got a call and turned around to answer it. Arabella grabbed the opportunity to hide inside it, she held her dress up and covered her face with the bags. He closed the trunk without looking at it and locked her inside.

She gathered her dress and gasped when the car started. She couldn't understand how to get out of there.

Arthur on other hand was trying to forget the beautiful face he has seen. His bodyguard noticed how he was lost in something dreamy.

"Is everything alright, Arthur?"

"Garry, I think you need to mind your own business."

He mocked.

Garry shrugged and stopped the car in front of the house.

"We need to be careful. Leonardo is keeping watch on us. The old psycho man won't stay quiet."

Arthur nodded in agreement. They got out of the car.

"I'll get the stuff."

Arthur waited while Garry opened the trunk and saw the girl.

"What the fuck?"

He cursed and Arabella flinched.

Arthur frowned.

"What's wrong?"

He came there and looked at the trunk just to find the same girl there.

He looked at her confused.

"What are you doing here?"

He questioned and she looked at him nervously while sitting up and hitting her head in the process.

"Ouch!"

She yelped.

"You know her!..."

Garry was shocked.

"Are we kidnapping brides now?"

"Shut up, Garry... For fuck sake, shut up!"

Arthur scolded him and looked at her.

"Come out!"

She gulped and tried to get out but her dress was tangled in her legs. He sighed and picked her up in a bridal style, she quickly stepped back when he placed her down.

"What are you doing here?"

Arthur asked confused.

"I forgot to thank you."

She mumbled nervously.

His eyebrows raised amused.

"What?"

"So you got into the trunk because you wanted to thank him?"

Garry asked in disbelief.

"No! I___"

She looked at them flabbergasted.

"He___ I crossed the street and ___"

"Little bitch!"

She heard that familiar voice and yelped while clutching on Arthur tightly and tried to hide behind him.

Arthur followed her movements as she used him as a shield. He looked at her man who was looking drunk and was smiling like a creep.

He understood that she was hiding from him.

"I looked for you everywhere, come let's go home."

He was looking like a maniac.

Her hold on Arthur tightened and he didn't like the way she was scared.

"Get out from here, the girl don't want to come with you."

He ordered.

"I am her uncle... I know what is good for her."

He replied madly.

"Give her to me and we'll leave."

Arthur looked at her and she shook her head.

"Please help me. He is a bad man."

She requested with helpless voice.

Arthur gritted and tried to calm down his anger.

"She is not going with you... Leave!"

He glared at him.

"Leave my foot."

He stepped forward to grab her but Arthur twisted his hand and backhanded him, making him fall on the ground and see stars. Brian struggled to stand and when he did, he chickened out of the place.

He turned towards the girl and looked at her scared face.

"What's your name, little Dove?"

He wiped the tear from her cheek and she froze under his alluring touch.

It felt like a deja vu because Oliver felt the same.
