Chapter 36

35. Together?

Dark Temptation!

Author's POV

"Dove"

He leaned closer and kissed her head making her heart race.

"Will you become mine?.."

Her eyes widened in shock when he said that.

"Mine? Mine what, Chief?"

Her breathing stopped for a moment and mind went foggy, thinking her fear is coming to reality.

"Arabella, what are you doing___"

Julie's voice faded and she froze in her place when she saw the man sitting beside her friend.

"Oliver Sir, I am sorry"

She panicked.

"Julie, he is Arthur."

Arabella corrected her.

Arthur looked at Arabella adoringly. He never liked the mention of his name so much.

"Ohh!"

She sighed in relief.

"Sorry, you two look same. Hi, I am Julie. Arabella's best friend."

Arthur just nodded at her in acknowledgement.

"Looks like he doesn't like to socialize much, unlike his brother..."

She chuckled nervously.

Arabella cleared her throat at her friend's comment.

"Why were you looking for me?"

"Oh, yeah!"

She scratched her head awkwardly.

"I just came to remind you that we will be leaving in an hour so get ready. Bye, continue!"

She quickly walked away from there.

"Leaving?"

Arthur frowned.

"We are going to the carnival which is in town till tomorrow... Julie is excited."

She replied.

"Okay!"

He nodded.

"Enjoy! I'll take my leave now."

"Chief you didn't answer my question... Mine, what?"

She asked eagerly when he got up.

Arthur rubbed his forehead, he was regretting saying it in flow of emotions.

"I had some job offer for you but I guess you are too young for that... We will talk about this later."

He lied and started walking away.

"Chief!"

She called him and he turned towards her, waiting for to say whatever she wanted to say.

"Do you think I am just a kid?"

She asked, he called her 'too young' and she recalled Jenny's words. Curious to know if they really think of her as just kid.

Arthur smirked.

"Do you want me to think of you as something else?"

She turned flabbergasted by his question.

"No, I mean___ I don't know!"

She never sounded so confused.

He chuckled.

"No, I don't think you are just a kid."

With that he walked away and she blushed. She has no idea why but it made her feel good.

Arabella was feeling good after meeting both of them. For an absurd reason, their presence around her felt good and their sincere apologies made her anger fade.

She smiled and got up to get ready.

"So, he was here!"

Julie teased her while applying her lipstick.

"So?"

Arabella wore her sunflower sweater and tied her hair in ponytail while trying to hide her blush from her.

"So, he likes you."

She turned around excited.

"And he is not rude like his brother. You should definitely trap him, you will be rich."

Arabella rolled her eyes at her naughty suggestion but she liked the part of making him hers.

"God, you are blushing. Does that mean you like him too?"

Julie clasped her mouth dramatically.

"Shut up, Julie. It's nothing like that..."

She turned to grab her phone.

"He is my boss and Oliver sir is not rude. He is nice too. He also came to check on me. The chocolate you were stuffing your mouth with, are from him."

"Woah! Why would he visit you? It means he likes you too."

She gasped again.

"I am telling you, girl. These brothers are cooking something."

Arabella huffed.

"Can we go now?"

"Yes!"

She released her ponytail.

"But without your ponytail, you look good in open hair."

Arabella snatched the hair tie from her and wore it around her wrist.

"But we will be on rides, open hair are dangerous."

"It's nothing like that. Come!"

She dragged her out.

"By the way, I think Arthur likes you more than Oliver."

She teased.

"Julie!"

Arabella whined.

"Sorry!"

Julie laughed and ran ahead of her.

Arabella laughed and shook her head while walking towards her.

"You are lucky that I can't run!"

Meanwhile Arthur was already in the Carnival.

"Since when you used to take interest in carnivals?"

Garry asked, looking around.

The carnival was big, all kind of games and shops were there. Kids and people were enjoying it.

"My girl is coming here, I just want to spend some time with her."

Arthur looked at his watch and then towards the entrance.

"I don't know about your girl but your brother is here."

Garry informed when he saw Oliver.

"What the hell is he doing here?"

Arthur gritted, Oliver's presence will definitely make his plan to go in vain.

"Hello, Chief!"

Oliver mocked as he walked towards him.

"Trying to spend time with my girl... Sad! It's my day."

"I found out about it first. Oliver, stop making a scene and go back."

Arthur warned.

"You really want to fight over this?"

Oliver gritted madly.

"You thought I won't find out about your plan?"

"Guys! Don't create a scene here."

Garry interrupted.

"There is only one option now. You both spend time with her today. She is on leave so it's actually no one's day. And she was mad at both of you so I think you should work together to bring her back."

"He can come tomorrow. Carnival is still there!"

Oliver argued.

"She is coming!"

Noah declared.

"And her crazy friend too."

He groaned when he saw Julie.

"Noah, you have to distract her friend so she will be with me."

Oliver ordered.

"Excuse me?"

Arthur raised his eyebrows.

Oliver groaned annoyed.

"With us! I don't have time to argue with you now but I am not letting this slide."

Arabella entered with Julie and started looking around. This was her first time in the carnival and she was curious.

"Ahhh! Games, let's play."

She dragged her towards the shop.

Arabella stopped her.

"I need to use the washroom. I'll be back, you carry on."

As soon as Arabella walked away, Noah approached Julie.

"Keep your mouth shut and come with me."

He threatened in low voice.

Julie was about to scream but he warned with his glare. She huffed and followed him.

Meanwhile Arabella collided to someone.

"Stupid, can't you see..."

She looked up and gasped.

"Oh my god! Chief? Sir?... Together?"
