46. Impress?
Dark Temptation!
Author's POV
Arabella woke up in the morning and saw both of them sleeping beside her. She smiled and admired their faces.
"They look so cute while sleeping."
Her delicate hands touched their cheeks.
Both of them snuggled close to her when she touched them.
"Go back to sleep, Kitten. It's too early to wake up."
"Umm! It's six o'clock... And I think you two forgot to take out your phones from your pockets because they are poking my thighs."
She mumbled innocently.
Both of them jolted from the sleep when she said that.
"Fuck, I am sorry!"
Oliver got up from the bed and walked straight out of the room.
"Shit!"
Arthur got up too.
"Go back to sleep. You need to rest..."
She looked at him confused when he also walked out of the room just like Oliver.
"What's wrong with them?"
She laid on the bed and huffed.
"Men are so complicated."
She freshened up and went to the kitchen to help Cami.
"Why are you up so early? You should rest, you were not okay last night."
Cami suggested while hurriedly cutting vegitables.
"I am fine. I feel bored when I don't do anything."
She grabbed oranges to make juice.
"You are too energetic."
Cami chuckled.
"Can you make these juice for triplets? I'll make the sauce till then."
Arabella looked at her confused, as far as she knows there are no triplets in the house.
"Triplets?"
"Yes! Arthur, Oliver and Rosetta."
Cami replied.
"Ohh, I thought they are twins. I didn't know that their sister was also born at the same time. But is she here?"
She grew nervous.
"Yes! She is here with her husband. They arrived early morning."
Cami looked at her nervous face.
"It's okay, sweetheart. If you can deal with Rose Ma'am then others are easy targets."
"Is she rude and strict?"
She poured the juice in the glass.
"She is somehow like her mother but not rude... Relax!"
She laughed at her reaction.
"It means I should mess up around her?"
She huffed.
"Wish me luck, Cami... Her mother must be already pissed at me for loosing the file, I have embarrassed myself enough. I hope it doesn't happens in front of her."
She grabbed the tray and went out. Her eyes fell on the girl who looked like young version of Rose. Same aura and expressions on face. She understood that she is the sister of Knight brothers.
"Ma'am..."
Rosetta looked up from her phone and saw the young girl in front of her with the tray of juice glasses.
Arabella shifted in her place nervously under her gaze.
"Why are you wearing my shoes?"
Rosetta asked.
Arabella looked at her confused and then looked at her shoes.
"Uhh? Chief gave me these."
She replied.
Rosetta realised why her brother was asking for it and nodded.
"Have you added honey in it?"
She asked.
Arabella shook her head.
"Sorry, I didn't know... I'll add and come back."
She quickly turned around and collided harshly with the strong shoulder. The tray slipped from her hand and crashed on the floor along with juice glasses. She was about to fall on the crashed glasses but her arm was caught by someone.
She gasped when the hand harshly turned her around and she met Rose's annoyed eyes. Her eyes widened, thinking that she again fucked up around Rose and her impression is so wrong that Rose dodged the spill this time. It means she knew that she would mess up, Arabella was never so embarrassed.
"I am sorry!"
She looked at the mess and Rose guiltily.
Rose released her hand and sighed.
"I have never seen someone doing their job so imperfectly..."
Arabella looked down when she scolded her.
"Sorry!"
"What happened here?"
Oliver came out and saw the mess.
"I don't have to bath again, thankfully!"
Rose mocked and walked towards the dining table.
Rosetta looked at Oliver surprised.
"Why is she pissed? She never talks to anyone like this."
Oliver looked at Arabella who was looking heartbroken.
"Nothing, you check on her..."
Rosetta walked away and he approached Arabella.
"Kitten, what happened?"
"I don't know what's wrong with me... I always mess up when she is around me... It never happens but my luck is really bad when it comes to make impression on her."
She shook her head disappointed.
"So you want to impress her?"
Arthur walked towards her and stood beside Oliver.
"Who won't?"
She answered.
"She must be hating me by now."
"Don't worry about it... Mom never pays attention to things like this..."
Arthur assured.
"She is chill!"
"I don't think so. I saw in her eyes, she is mad at me... I lost her important file too."
She whined.
"What do I do now?"
They both laughed.
"Learn martial arts..."
Oliver teased.
"It's not funny... This is serious."
She scolded.
"Okay, sorry..."
He chuckled.
"Okay, we will make a plan to impress her. Make something nice for her, her favourite dish."
"Are you crazy? Mom is particular about her diet. If anything happens then it will worsen the situation."
Arthur shook his head in disapproval.
"Do the Christmas decorations... She likes to do it but she is bad at decorations so she doesn't touch it..."
"Really? Then help me with decorations."
She jumped eagerly.
"Us?"
They asked in unison.
"Yes, why? Is there any issue?"
Her smile fell.
They looked at each other, even they don't know how to decorate things. Since childhood they have only destroyed it.
"You have to help me... We are friends, remember?"
She warned.
She looked so cute while threatening them. They gave up and nodded.
"Okay, we will do it together..."
That night everyone went to sleep, but Arabella, Arthur and Oliver were doing decorations. She showed them the picture.
"This is what we are going to do. Exactly like this, we have all the materials."
"Yes, ma'am... Let's start!"
Oliver huffed, looking at the material. It was going to be a long night because he has never done the decoration before.
Arthur was already checking everything.
"You sound too confident for the man who used to make me do his art assignments."
Arabella looked at him surprised and laughed.
"Are you serious? You used to do that?"
She asked Oliver.
He scratched his head.
"He used to take my pocket money in exchange of that."
She gasped at Arthur who was smirking.
"Business, baby girl. Business!"
He winked making her laugh harder.
"You two are impossible."
She shook her head amused.
They started the decoration and now Arabella was the boss, they were doing as she was ordering them to do.
"Chief, hang that on the top... In angled direction."
He fixed it again and she she shook her head.
"Not like that!"
He gave up and she gasped when he lifted by her waist.
"You are too bossy. Do it yourself."
He complained.
She quickly fixed it and he placed her down.
"And you are strong, thank you!"
She grinned making him smile and grabbed lights but saw Oliver doing something.
"What are you doing?"
She asked while sitting beside him.
"This star would look good without this shiny look, Why would anyone make it look greasy like this..."
He was checking out the cutout. He was looking so cute while looking this confused.
Arabella looked at Arthur and both of them started laughing.
She grabbed the star and removed the protection coating.
"Now?"
"Ohh, see! I knew what would look good."
He said proudly.
"You are so cute!"
She chuckled and resumed her work.
The night went in blur and they were so involved with each other that they didn't realise when sun rose.
The decoration was done and it was looking beautiful.
Brothers went to their respective rooms after so much hardwork but Arabella was waiting for Rose to come out.
She finally came out for the jogging and looked at the Christmas tree with smile. It was looking beautiful and her smile told her that she liked it.
"Did you like it?"
Arabella asked hesitantly.
Rose's smile fell asleep she turned towards her.
"You really think that you can impress me by doing all these things?"
Arabella gulped when her tone turned rude.
"Ma'am, I am sorry for whatever happened."
"I don't like you, Arabella..."
Rose declared and her heart shattered into pieces.
"Let me be honest!"
Arabella looked at her sadly.
"But Ma'am, I didn't do anything."
Her head snapped aside and she looked at Rose shocked as slap stung on her cheek.
