59. The Risk!

Author's POV

Arabella was working out in the training hall, alone in the late night.

She was drenched in sweat.

Rose was watching her with small smile, small but proud. Somewhere she was seeing her young self in Arabella.

Passion and dedication in her eyes was familiar.

Arabella stopped when she noticed Rose, her breathing was heavy due to intense workout.

She bowed in front of Rose, she is still her senior even though she is no longer part of the agency.

"You can slap me again if you want, I betrayed you too."

She still remember the time when Rose slapped her.

...Flashback...

Arabella looked at Rose shocked when she slapped her.

"I don't know if I am feeling angry because you are here to kill my children or because you have choose a cowardly way to do that."

Rose said, glaring at her hatefully.

"You are an assassin, love trap is the cheapest way I have ever seen... I am not saying that you shouldn't try to kill them, it's your job. Try it! But try it while fighting with them on field, I have trained my sons good enough..."

Arabella's innocent expressions changed and turned serious. She bowed in front of her in respect.

"I should have known that I can't hid my identity from you... There must be a reason why Renzo always gave your examples while training us."

"You tried your best but Arabella, your body is of assassin's. You think I won't notice it? You tried to fake your clumsiness but you think I really wouldn't notice you? Your reflexes were evident while cleaning my room... I know how it works."

Rose scolded her.

"You are here to kill them, let's do it fairly... I am calling them, let's fight like fighters."

Arabella stopped her.

"Ma'am, I don't want to kill them anymore..."

Rose frowned at her.

"Isn't that why you are here? What changed your mind?"

Arabella nodded.

"I was here to kill them but looks like love trap trapped me and not them. I have started feeling for them... I don't know where I am going with this."

Rose sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"Come with me!"

She grabbed her arm and made her sat on the swing and took a place beside her.

"You are on mission, do you have any idea what will happen if you fail in it?"

"Rancho might kill me, I know."

She agreed.

"But when I was assigned this mission, I was supposed to kill two criminals who hurt people but now they are my friends, more than friends who protected me, didn't even think twice before taking bullet or jumping from the cliff. They made me weak by taking care of me. I no longer see criminals in them and don't want to kill them... I know I am supposed to keep my heart like ice but this is the first time I have experienced this sunshine feeling... Is falling in love was crime? You did too and it changed you."

Rose agreed.

"You are still young, are you strong enough to stand against Rancho? Forget about him. Does Arthur and Oliver know about you? Will they accept you after knowing about your true identity? Even if they do, will they share you?... I am their mother and they don't even want to share their mother's lap..."

"I know and that's why I am struck."

She agreed.

"See, you started this love trap because Rancho ordered you but after falling for them, you have ruined it for yourself... They will never share you and as much as I know them, they will do something which will break my family and I don't want that, Arabella..."

Rose gave her reality check.

"I will loose one of my sons for sure!"

"I won't break your family, I promise!"

She assured her.

"If you want, I'll talk to Rancho..."

Rose suggested.

"No, he hates you... He doesn't like the fact that his father was more fond of you than him. If you tell him about this then he will definitely ruin everything... Rancho is wicked, psychotic man... If I tell him that I fell for Knight brothers then he will kill them just to show his agency that no one should break his rules... He is stronger than Renzo..."

Arabella informed her.

"And Leonardo is also with him."

Rose nodded in agreement. She knows that Renzo was powerful and if Rancho is more powerful than his father then it's nearly impossible to take him down single handedly.

"Do you really love them?"

Arabella nodded.

"Both of them!"

"Then you have only one option, convince both of them to accept you... Leave rest to me, I'll fight with Rancho. I know that only one of us will come out alive but if that's going to give my children their love then I am ready to sacrifice myself..."

Rose said and Arabella's eyes watered.

"No!"

She shook her head, knowing that Rancho has upper hand with his father's secret moves. He has higher chances to win and she knows that he will also use unfair ways to win against Rose.

"Only if they both agree to share you!"

Rose assured.

"But for that you have to tell them your true identity... Things might take drastic turn, Arabella... Their love can change into hate and it might not be in your favour, so make your decisions carefully."

After that conversation Arabella met Brian who was her senior and was helping her in the mission.

"He will kill Rose. He is looking for an opportunity to do that... Don't do this, Arabella..."

Brian warned her.

"I don't want to kill them, I don't want to break their family, I don't want this... Please help me!"

She begged him.

"Fine, I'll tell Rancho that Arabella is not fit for this mission. But it means you will fail the mission and your dream of Badge A will be just dream..."

He said.

She nodded with heavy heart.

"I have already failed the mission... It's of no use now."

"Then we have to go back and you can't tell them your true identity."

He ordered.

"They deserve to know!"

She requested.

"No! Rancho won't like it. He will hurt you..."

He tried to make her understand.

"Knights are going to hate you after you tell them the truth. Rancho will hurt everyone, it's going to ruin so many lives. Do you want this?"

She shook her head.

"What if they agree to share me?"

There was a hope in her eyes.

"Then Rancho won't let them and you live. You want to see?"

He called Rancho.

"Yes, Brian... Tell me, you have completed the mission. If yes then sent me some pictures of Rose. I want to see how she cries."

He chuckled.

Brian sighed.

"Rancho, I am not seeing mission going anywhere... Arabella is not fit for the mission."

"Did she fall for them or what?"

His voice turned serious.

"I can guarantee you that it's not the case. She knows her limits but the boys are surrounded by their whole family and its getting difficult for us to target them. I suspect that Rose has doubt on Arabella."

Brian covered up.

"Anyways, drop the mission and come back... Leonardo got killed so we ain't receiving money from him."

Rancho ordered.

"But I am also suspecting something fishy in your tone, Brian... If Arabella has really fallen for them then come back with her dead body and I'll myself will get lover's body... I was bored, finally something interesting is happening."

Brian looked at Arabella and she grabbed her head.

"I assure you that it's not the case... She is on right path... We will come back."

Arabella was defeated and trapped.

"What do I do?"

Tears slipped from her eyes.

"Everything was surrounded by risks, not just for herself but for everyone around her."

"You have to die... For safety of everyone."

Brian ordered and she broke down.

....Flashback ended....

"All the best!"

Rose smiled and started walking away.

"Are you going to fight with me next?"

Arabella questioned.

Rose chuckled and turned around.

"Do you want me to?"

Arabella shook her head.

"I don't want to."

Not because she is scared of her but because she respects her too much to raise hand on her.

"You won't! In this story, my part is just to guide you children."

She walked away and Arabella started thinking who is going to fight next. She was thinking of Skyler as she has defeated Rosetta already, not knowing that something interesting is waiting for her.
