Chapter 11

08~After party scenes

His Longing❤️

As I helped him remove his seatbelt, our faces were inches apart. His breathing was faint on my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I looked up to find him staring at me, our eyes locked in a intense gaze.

I felt him leaning in, his lips almost touching mine. I closed my eyes, unsure why I was reacting this way. But just as our lips were about to meet, we heard the sound of a door opening. The sudden noise jolted me back to reality, and I quickly backed away from him.

I looked around, trying to locate the source of the sound, and noticed that the steel door of his garden entrance was open. I wondered if someone else lived with him.

"Why are you still standing there? Let's go inside," he said, his voice low and husky.

"Oh no, I shouldn't. I have to get back to Kriti; she's alone at home," I replied, trying to sound firm.

"Come on, just have a glass of water, and then you can leave. I promise I won't eat you," he teased, his eyes glinting with amusement.

I muttered under my breath, "No promises, no trust." But I slowly nodded, agreeing to go inside.

As we entered his house, I asked, "How many people live here?" trying to sound casual.

"Me and Adi," he replied, his expression neutral.

I felt a shiver run down my spine. Only he and Aditya lived here? But Adi was with Kriti, dropping her off. Then who was the person who opened the steel door? I didn't get a good vibe from this house anymore. I had to leave.

"Actually, I have to go," I said, stopping at the main door.

"Why? What happened now?" he asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

I hesitated, unsure how to respond. "I just need to go," I said finally, turning to leave.

He groaned in frustration as I quickly got into my car and waved at him. I started the engine and drove off, my mind racing with thoughts of who could be living with him.

All the way home, I wondered if it could be a murderer, a terrorist, or even a ghost. Oh my god, what if he lived with a ghost? That would explain why he always looked so pale and brooding.

As I arrived home, I parked Kriti's car in the parking lot and walked towards the main door. I entered the passcode and opened the door, stepping inside. But I froze in my tracks, my eyes widening in shock at the scene before me.

Kritika's POV:

As the music ended, Aditya and I got separated. I felt a pang of disappointment, realizing I had enjoyed dancing with him more than I should have.

I started looking for Saarah everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found. I even checked the restroom, but she wasn't there either. Where had she gone?

I made my way to the parking lot, only to find that my car was missing. Saarah had taken it, leaving me stranded. I was furious.

But then I remembered I could call her. I quickly grabbed my phone and dialed her number, but she didn't answer.

I was fuming with frustration. First, Saarah had left me stranded, and now I was carless. "What should I do now?" I muttered to myself.

Just then, someone snapped their fingers in front of me, jolting me out of my reverie. I looked up to see Aditya standing before me.

"What?" I asked gruffly.

"Is everything okay?" Aditya inquired, his tone calm and soothing.

"Yeah," I replied curtly.

"You look tense. That's why I asked. No problem if you don't want to share," he said, his expression empathetic.

"What's your problem? Why can't you just mind your own business?" I snapped, my frustration boiling over.

Aditya looked taken aback. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean—"

My phone rang, interrupting him. I glanced at the caller ID and saw Saarah's name. "Excuse me," I said, stepping away to answer the call.

As soon as I picked up, I unleashed a torrent of anger. "You bloody bitch, how dare you leave me stranded and take my car too?"

Saarah's calm voice was a stark contrast to my rage. "Actually, Zain got injured, so I took him to the hospital for dressing. I'm really sorry I didn't inform you and took the car. But I didn't have any other option."

Her explanation mollified me somewhat. "Okay, I understand. Take care of him. And I know it's not just your doctor's gene, but now tell me how I can get back home."

Saarah suggested I ask Aditya for a ride, and I handed my phone over to him. After a brief conversation, Aditya agreed to drop me off.

The ride was silent, with Aditya seemingly upset by my earlier outburst. I felt a pang of guilt, realizing I had unfairly lashed out at him.

As we arrived at my home, I got out of the car and walked around to Aditya's side. "Get out," I said, opening his door.

He looked at me quizzically but got out of the car. "Come inside," I said, and he reluctantly agreed.

Once inside, I asked him to wait in the living room while I went upstairs. I quickly retrieved the clothes he had changed out of the previous night, which I had washed and dry-cleaned. I put them in a "thank you" bag and headed back downstairs.

Aditya was looking at my childhood pictures, and I approached him. "Here, take it," I said, handing him the bag.

He looked at me, then at the bag, and nodded. As he turned to leave, I realized he was still upset. "Aditya," I called out, and he turned around.

"Wait," I said, walking towards him.

"I'm really sorry for my rude behavior, Aditya," I said, feeling genuinely remorseful. "I was frustrated, and you came along and started joking, so I took my anger out on you. I know I shouldn't have done that, and that's why I'm apologizing."

"It's okay, I'm not upset with you," Aditya replied with a smile. "I was just stressing about Zain."

"Although you can vent all your anger on me if you want," he added with a smirk. "I won't mind."

I felt my cheeks flush with heat, and Aditya teased, "Oh, blushing!"

"You're so bad!" I exclaimed, playfully hitting him. He started running, and I chased after him, laughing.

But in my haste, I bumped into him, causing him to lose his balance. We both tumbled onto the couch, with me landing on top of him.

As we looked into each other's eyes, we heard the sound of the door opening. We quickly got up, adjusting our clothes.

Saarah stood in the doorway, her eyes wide with surprise. "I didn't see anything," she said hastily, turning around.

We both assured her, "It was nothing like that!"

Saarah turned back, a sly grin spreading across her face. "Yeah, right. I can see exactly what's going on here. First, you have a dramatic scene in the rain, and now you're practically on top of each other."

I tried to explain, "You're misunderstanding, Saarah."

But she just laughed, teasing us mercilessly. "I have to go," Aditya said, trying to make a quick exit.

Saarah chimed in, "Kriti, drop him off at the car at least."

But Aditya declined, "No, it's okay."

As he left, Saarah called out, "Bye, Aditya!" with a knowing smirk.

I glared at her, and Aditya chuckled, shaking his head. "Bye, Kriti. Bye, Saarah."
