592 Crimson and gold watches from the dark corridor
Ester shook her head and whispered, âWhen a person is consumed by greed, not even if they are the last people living in the world, their words can not be trusted.â
*Sigh* âI can never understand humans who are not part of my mateâs pack.â Lupa said in a low voice before extending her hand and pointing in front of them.
âThey are gathered in front of us.â She continued with a low voice.
Ester now knew the location of the eight people. The three thugs must have ignored their words and returned to the five victims after only giving them a breather instead of the time promised.
Ester started walking slowly without making a sound while Lupa followed on the soft pads of her wolf feet silently.
Lupaâs racing heart made more sound than her steps. She was angry to suffer the bad smell after already suffering from the slave traderâs place.
Lupaâs anger intensified the more she walked and the more her nose twitched in suffering. Her claws desired to rip the three thugs to shreds and make them understand the pain her nose was suffering from.
Lupa angrily swung her tail, and the gust of wind extinguished each candle they passed. The smell of smoke from an extinguished candle made Lupaâs nose feel slightly better for a few steps.
Ester soon arrived in front of the slightly opened door. She peeked at what was happening inside while hearing a man shouting demands and another laughing maniacally.
.....
While Ester saw the three men standing, Lupaâs ears moved many times while capturing the location of everyone inside the room and listening to their heartbeats with her hearing.
*Thud* Deadeye threw five papers and a magic pen in front of the victim, standing in at the center of the others.
âShare them with the others. Donât worry, the eighty-five percent cut on the magic contract will not be that difficult when we can employ more protection and allow you, weak customers, an easier life.â Deadeye said while talking as if he was offering a righteous offer. He even smiled as if it could make the five on their knees believe his words.
âHehe, you will not have it that hard. You will only be required to pay us the eighty-five percent cut for the first ten quests per month. Itâs not that hard.â Slash licked his sword and continued with a threatening lustful grin, â~Right?~â
âYe better sign them~s, or we will give you~s the slave contract instead~s. â Pitch looked at Slash and continued, âOr ye will~s have to choose who~s will die as an example~s.â
The five victims shivered and stared at the magic contract on the ground in shock. One of them slowly extended his shaking hand to grab the magic contract. Being alive was better than becoming an illegal slave or being randomly chosen to be killed.
It was the woman who didnât utter a word who chose to sign first. She grabbed the magic pen with her trembling hand and gulped. Before signing, she raised her head to look at the three thugs. As her survival instinct to escape triggered, her eyes looked at the door.
âIs that red hair and red eyes?... Is someone going to save us?...â She thought while staring at the door with the imagination of being saved running wild.
Deadeye could clearly see it in the female victimâs eyes. She was staring at the door before signing the magic contract. *Snap* âPitch, close the door because someone needs to think properly.â He ordered after snapping his fingers.
Pitch nodded and turned around. He walked for the door and suddenly stopped. âDid I see red strings move from behind the door?â He wondered while feeling his heart beat quicker all of a sudden.
Ester and Lupa understood they were about to get discovered. Both nodded at each other and silently agreed it was time to enter the room and start the fight.
Lupa revealed a wide excited grin as she took a step back. She steadied one leg while kicking the wooden door with the other. The door hinges broke from the sudden force, and the wooden door shot toward Pitch.
The five victims were both shocked and excited. They only hoped the person who kicked the door was someone who would save them, not a turf war.
On the other hand, Slash and Deadeye watched the door slam onto Pitch. Even though Pitch didnât look that injured, the unknown person who shot the door at them must be a powerful enemy.
Two golden glowing dots and a feeling of dread appeared from the darkness of the unlit corridor. A moment later, beside the two golden glowing dots appeared two red glowing dots.
The figure of a slim person appeared glowing next. A blurry white figure entered the room at that moment of great mystery. Its hands raised swiftly and slashed downwards, cutting both the wooden door and Pitch in mere split seconds.
Lupaâs eyes returned to normal. She stopped while her claws dripped blood on the ground. Her gaze moved on the two thugs before revealing a grin.
âPitch!â Deadeye exclaimed.
âYou filthy beastman wearing a maid outfit needs to be slashed, hehe. â Slash said while taking a step forward.
*Step, step* Ester entered the room, and cold followed after her. Her crimson glowing eyes looked at the five victims. She smiled and said, âWe are here to save you.â
The five victims became happy to hear the two women wearing a maid outfits were there to save them. Watching the muscular Pitch fall with one attack was enough to prove how powerful the two women were.
âYer will pay for what you have done! Slash, letâs teach these wenches not to mess with us!â Deadeye said.
âHehe, I will take the one with no chest. I wonder if she is really a woman, hehe.â Slash said before running toward Ester.
Deadeye smirked and confidently ran toward Lupa. He inserted his hand in his pocket and took a deep breath.
Lupa curled her fingers and prepared to cut Deadeye down, but her opponent removed, pulled out his hand, and threw a strange power at Lupaâs face.
Lupaâs sensitive nose immediately became irritated, and she started to sneeze without control. Her swing missed, and Deadeye used the other hand to push Lupa to the ground.
Ester blocked Slashâs attack with her earth tattoo and heard Lupa sneeze before hearing her fall to the ground. The moment she saw Lupa on the ground, something she barely saw happening to Lupa, Ester became furious.
Ester pushed Slash and looked at Lupa once again. This time she saw Deadeye escape the room.
âYou will not escape after hurting my sister.â Ester angrily said.
Ester clenched her fists, and wind gathered around her arm. A wave of intimidating bloodlust filled the room, and Esterâs crimson eyes made both the five victims and Slash believe she was a monster in human skin.
Slash flinched for a moment because of the killing intent directed at him. It only took a moment to leave him helpless against Esterâs attack.
A figure covered in blood suddenly appeared. He went in front of Ester and took the full power of the strike.
*Boom* A cloud of dust appeared at one of the roomâs corners. The cloud quickly dissipated, and Pitch, with a hole in his stomach and stuck on the broken wall, appeared. Below him was more blood than a person could lose for a chance to survive.
Pitch was killed with one of Esterâs strikes after losing a lot of blood from Lupaâs surprise attack.
The five victims on the ground couldnât believe such a slim and delicate-looking maid with faintly glowing clothes and glowing crimson eyes could be this powerful.
At this moment, the five felt like ants in front of an anteater. Their F Rank power was a speck of dust compared to the maid who sent the muscular and intimidating thug flying to his death.
Slash became enraged. He swung his sword at Esterâs arm, hoping to chop it off, even if Ester had recently blocked his sword with her arms.
*Achoo, achoo, a...* The sound continued sneezing and abruptly stopped when a pair of golden glowing eyes appeared. Lupaâs body became blurred, and right before the sword landed on Esterâs arms, the sword and the hand holding the sword flew in mid-air.
âAhh!â Slash shouted in agony after his hand was chopped off by a woman coldly looking at him with a pair of ferocious golden eyes.
âDonât touch my sister. â Lupa said while her eyes returned to normal.
*Clang* Slash stepped on a metallic object. He looked down and found a metal collar. He grabbed it and grinned as if in his remaining hand was a weapon that could turn the tides.
âThis special gift will make you my slave. Rejoice as your first order will be to attack each other until death.â Slash said before charging at Ester and Lupa.
âNot if I am here!â Lupa charged for cutting Slashâs remaining hand. She swung her arms, one to cut his hand and the other to slash at his chest.
The two hands with claws landed before Slash could do anything. One hand flew in the air, and a deep laceration appeared on the handless thug. However, the sly Slash had already thrown the metal collar at Ester before losing his remaining hand.
Slash fell to his knees, and his vision became blurry from the blood rapidly flowing out of his body. He could vaguely see Ester with a metal collar attached to her neck.
