604 Rafa Mera Holger
The soldiers and the coachman felt a chill rush down their spine while cold sweat appeared on their foreheads. They all promptly nodded before responding with a wavering yes.
Vincent walked between two walls of women. They looked at the corpse of the male lizardman and felt sorry for Shana. They also appreciated how Vincent didnât store the corpse like it was an item that wasnât needed anymore.
The orc carrying the mermaid with difficulty climbed down the carriage first. The deer woman followed after him.
Sakura noticed the orc contorting his face for a brief moment before trying to show he wasnât in pain. Sakura walked toward them and extended her hands.
âArga, orgas.â The orc said.
âHe said he could carry her inside. He also said he isnât useless.â The deer woman translated.
âYou need to recover...â
âI donât want to dirty you. I am filthy, and my new owner said my disease is infections.â The mermaid announced after noticing how high-quality Sakuraâs clothes were. Not to mention wearing clothes that werenât a maid outfit.
âOnly through any kind of bodily liquids.â Said Vincent after overhearing the mermaid telling an excuse. Vincent believed she felt safer in the arms of another slave rather than a person covering their head and face while not wearing a maid outfit.
.....
âSee. I donât mind.â Sakura said before placing her hands underneath the mermaid and lifting her up as if she barely had any weight.
âFollow me.â Sakura continued before following Vincent inside the mansion.
The orc and the deer woman looked at each other. They saw the soldiers close the carriage door and climb their horses to leave post haste.
âOrg?â
âYes. Letâs follow.â
Mimi and Sofy remained in front of the mansionâs entrance while everyone went inside. They kept an eye on the soldiers and the carriage, leaving the property in a hurry. After the twins opened the gate, let the men pass, and later closed it, Mimi and Sofy entered inside.
Vincent walked to the living room and placed the male lizardman on the mattress beside the female lizardman. A flash of light appeared in front of Vincentâs face. It was the Promised Quest system activating late for some reason.

Vincent and Kazumi didnât mention a word. They spent a few minutes in silence.
Sakura carrying the mermaid, arrived along with the orc and deer woman following from behind. The three slaves looked at the two lizardmenâs corpses resting on the mattress. They also spent a few minutes of silence.
Vincent went beside Sakura. He looked at the mermaid, Orc, and deer woman. âThis is my wife.â He said before removing the fabric covering her head and face. âShe is only a demon in bed.â
[Hahaha.]
âHey! That is rude to tell a demon that.â Sakura complained while the mermaid, Orc, and deer woman stared at Sakura in shock.
*Smack* *Yelp*
âHear that? She isnât dangerous. Isnât she? â Vincent lightly joked after slapping Sakuraâs bottom.
Vincent saw Sakuraâs embarrassed expression. His mood felt better after relieving some of his negative emotions. His legs moved quickly, and he left the living hall.
Maid Xu entered the living room soon after Vincent left. She instructed Sakura, the orc, and the deer woman to follow her.
âWhat do you two look scared of? Are you afraid of Vincent slapping your asses like he only likes to do to me?â Sakura bluntly said while her cheeks remained blushing.
Half an hour later, everyone present in the mansion, apart from the current gate guards Lenn and Renn, gathered near a hole in the garden.
Vincent stood beside the hole in dirty clothes, indicating he was the one who dug the hole. Beside Vincent was Sakura carrying a corpse wrapped in clean fabric on each shoulder.
The orc, mermaid, and the deer woman were present at the sort funeral. They were clean and wore clean common clothes.
The mermaid wasnât being carried anymore. Instead, she moved to the location by herself by using a wheelchair Sakura made, yet wasnât satisfied by complaining it wasnât good enough for her preference as usual.
Sakura previously requested Vincent to give her the same wheelchair blueprint Princess Anna received. Sakura spent a lot of her time making the wheelchair instead of focusing on the staff for Duke Bobstrider. This was one of the reasons Sakura didnât make a lot of progress.
The funeral mostly consisted of women and girls wearing maid outfits. Only Sakura, Mimi, Eliara, Fliara, Luisa, Lian, Olive, Alice, the orc, the mermaid, and the deer woman wore different clothes.
Baby Shana was present at her parentâs funeral, but she was still sleeping deeply and peacefully. The change Shana experienced took a toll on her tiny body as the usual energized buff didnât appear on her.
âIt is time to say goodbye to the two who passed away on the same day. However, they will not be forgotten. They will live in our memories for the days to come. They have also blessed us with the little Shana. The baby girl who will officially become my daughter.â
All eyes were on Vincent as he spoke. Many of them already knew Vincent was going to take care of Shana, but to hear a noble say he was going to officially make the child of slaves as his daughter was still surprising to hear.
Sakura saw Vincent nod at her. She jumped into the hole and placed the two corpses of the lizardman beside each other. Sakura then unwrapped the front of the fabric to reveal the two lizardmen.
The mother and father of Shana were cleaned. They had makeup done on them to hide the injuries. They also wore clean common clothes.
Sakura placed their hand together. She saw Vincent extending his hand and was helped climbing out of the hole.
Everyone present could now see two of the lizardman race sleeping eternally in a hole. They looked peaceful, and the kids didnât feel afraid to look at them.
âWe will stay awake while the two of you rest. We will take care of Shana, so meet each other and enjoy your lives in freedom.â Vincent said. He looked around, and even if those present didnât know the deceased, a few of the adults had tears welling in their eyes.
The children were taken inside a few minutes later. One by one, most of those present started to leave, even Yula with Shana in her arms.
After the children werenât around, Vincent grabbed the shovel and began covering the hole slowly to show respect for the dead.
âCan I send them to the earth too?â Requested the deer woman.
âOrge.â The orc said while patting his chest with injured arms.
âI... want to try... a little too.â The mermaid said anxiously.
Vincent didnât mind giving them the only shovel in the entire mansion. The hole was later covered by Vincent, Sakura, Mimi, Sofy, the orc, the mermaid, and the deer woman sharing the shovel.
Vincent could have used the few shields in his possession to cover the hole, but he felt it was disrespectful to hurry the pace. Additionally, taking their time with the resting place of the dead and respecting them was also a part of the funeral.
The funeral caused the orc, the mermaid, and the deer woman to comprehend Vincent wasnât a double-faced man like the other nobles they unfortunately met.
The way Vincent acted around his servants. The way children smiled while not being afraid to talk to Vincent. The manner children talked to Vincent as if he was their older brother. Not to mention the offering of a luxurious moving chair with cushions fit for high-ranking nobles.
These factors caused the orc, the mermaid, and the deer woman to remove most of their doubts regarding Vincent being a bad noble.
Additionally, the deer woman became delighted the person she believed was the beacon to gather her kin was kind and respectful. The way Vincent handled the funeral and even dirted himself to bury the dead won her over.
The deer woman became happy to be the slave of such a goodhearted person. She wanted to meet more of her kin soon and feel proud to be the first beastman to gather around Vincent.
Vincent looked around, and only those who helped cover the hole were present. âYou three need names.â He said out of the blue.
âHow about they name themselves?â Sakura questioned.
âNot a bad idea.â Vincent agreed.
[Yeah. It will save us some time from naming them.]
However, the three shook their heads. The deer woman took a step forward and represented the three slaves by saying, âWe want to have a name given to us by our benevolent owner.â
âIt isnât a bad idea, Vincent. â Mimi said. She giggled and continued, âUnless you want them to have hard-to-pronounce names.â
Vincent looked at the mermaid first. He asked, âDo you like the name Mera?â
The mermaid revealed a faint smile and blushed. âY-yes.â She stuttered.
Vincent looked at the orc next. He asked, âDo you like the name, Holger?â
âHorg! Orgas!â The orc said.
âHe loves the name.â The deer woman translated.
Vincent looked at the deer woman next. He asked, âDo you like the name Rafa?â
âThank you for the lovely name. I am delighted to also have a name given to me like.â The deer woman, now named Rafa, said.
