627 The soul guardians appear
Vlad took a step back as he became momentarily shocked. Losing oneâs head wasnât enough to cause death usually, yet the figure of light remained standing without a hit of falling.
This made Vlad ponder on his next move. He needed to calculate what other ways could cause certain death. The thought of a loss from a person like the Summoner Hero infuriated him.
The figure of light glanced at Vlad. He saw him pondering, and he wasnât posing a threat. That second was enough to cause the figure of light to change targets.
The figure of light ignored Vlad and walked past him. Step after the other, he arrived in front of Kazumi, Vincentâs body, and the two soul eggs.
The figure of light looked down and expressed, âI bring misfortune. You suffer because of me. I killed my parents.â
The figure of light spoke as if Vincentâs body was a different entity to him. As if the two have become different.
One was the corrupted ego of the past that was unable to grow during the journey to survive for another day, while the body lying on the dark ground was the present. A present that strived for a better future and was able to grow. Two halves of the same Soul with different values.
The figure of light lowered down and tried to touch the two soul eggs. However, the hand never reached the eggs.
A sudden blurry appearance of Vlad with his leg raised appeared. He swung his leg and kicked the figure of light, interrupting the possible caring or dangerous gesture.
.....
The figure of light was sent flying and crashed against the throne. *Boom* The body exploded into thousands upon thousands of tiny green radiant particles.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The Soul Domain trembled while the figure of light reformed his body. The body materialized as if nothing had happened.
The figure of light stood up with his eyes slanted angrily. He pointed at Vlad and screeched an ear-piercing scream.
Radiant green lights appeared from two directions. Vlad frowned at the view of green radiant particles gathering in two specific places and growing.
Vlad closed his eyes after the light suddenly became blinding. After opening his eyes, the blinding light was no more. Vlad frowned deeply at what was in his view now.
On his left was a ten-foot-tall living sculpture of a wolf. The wolf contorted its face viciously, and radiant white saliva dripped on the ground. Its fur was spiky, causing hand-to-hand combat to be disadvantageous against it.
On his right was a ten-foot-tall living sculpture of a butterfly gently flapping its wings every one to two seconds and hovering in the air as if gravity didnât affect it.
The butterfly had a different pattern in each of its four wings. The patterns were ice, fire, earth, and wind. The patterns resembled that of the four elemental butterfly groups, yet they looked better. As if they were the improved versions of the sixteen small butterflies.
However, it wasnât an ordinary giant intimidating yet beautiful butterfly. At the bottom was a sharp and thick stinger.
It made the saying roses have thorns true for the giant emerald butterfly. The butterfly with beautiful wings was dangerous.
Kazumi looked at Wolfie. She couldnât believe Wolfie had become big enough to give any Gray Wolf Magic Beast a run for its money.
Kazumi looked at Freerie next. She became mesmerized looking at the beautiful yet dangerous-looking Freerie after it had become one complete being.
âIs it too late to turn everything back to normal? Is this how we are going to end? I thought we were going to have a happy life until I could find a way to...â Kazumi thought while her vision became hazy, her mind clouded, and the light of her body almost completely faded.
Kazumi closed her eyes. She didnât want to die, yet it was obvious there was no way anyone could save her. Or so she believed.
Kazumi felt her body recharging with pleasantly warm mana. She opened her eyes, and a green light appeared in front of her. As her eyes looked up, Kazumi saw the figure of light staring at her while carefully holding her dim wisp body.
Kazumi was astonished the figure of light lifted her dimming body and provided mana. Not all hope was lost because the figure of light was saving her life, Kazumi hoped.
Kazumi heard the sounds of a fight taking place. She moved her eyes and saw Vlad fighting the gigantic mutated versions of Wolfie and Freerie.
Vlad sidestepped and countered all incoming attacks. His speed was overwhelming, yet he couldnât win. His damage wasnât enough to destroy large chunks of Wolfie and Freerieâs emerald bodies. Additionally, any damage done to their bodies crystalized and recovered in mere seconds.
Inside Vincentâs Soul Domain, Vlad couldnât easily win against the defenders of the Soul Domain. He would have already lost if Vlad wasnât overwhelmingly powerful while fighting.
Wolfie and Freerie constantly attacked without rest. They didnât show any signs of becoming tired, yet Vlad was. This advantage became more apparent the longer the fight lasted.
Vladâs Soul was being overburdened, and his speed was being gradually reduced. He started clicking his tongue and angrily complain.
*Tsk* âThis is getting annoying! After hitting many times in the same place, their bodies crack.â
*Tsk* âBut the little damage I inflict recovers quickly. It isnât enough to break them. These damn monsters are irritating.â
Vlad angrily complained while his hands dripped blood and the wound in his chest recovered about one-tenth. His flesh and bone body could recover quickly after drinking blood, but the damage his Soul suffered couldnât as quickly.
Vlad felt as if he was fighting a rigged fight against cheaters. The emerald bodies of the wolf and butterfly in front of him were too tough to break before they recovered by being on their home turf.
This was when Vlad realized he was weakened in the Soul Domain, and he was becoming weaker the more the fight dragged on.
Vlad suddenly saw his surroundings change. The darkness of the Soul Domain was starting to lift, and the light was returning. The time of Soul Invite from Soul Domain Kingâs skill had run out.
Vlad questioned what was happening now. He prepared to be sent to another place and continue the fight, but he did not.
*Living World*
The moment Vlad blinked, he saw his body frozen in time for a moment. His Soul was exhausted and wounded, causing his concept of time to return to normal speed instantly.
Vlad was interrupted by the action he was doing after he coughed a mouthful of blood and felt weak. His wounded Soul needed time to stabilize itself. This made him feel weaker, even if he could control his real body now.
Vlad cautiously jumped away from Vincent. He lowered his gaze and raised his hands.
The hands were holding a buckler on one, and a rapier on the other wasnât injured like they were in Vincentâs Soul Domain. However, his hands were trembling as if they were exhausted and injured.
Vlad put two and two together. Vlad quickly understood he suffered from a soul attack. His Soul was wounded, and his hands could still feel the pain.
Vlad needed time to recover the damage done to his Soul. But time was a thing he had not.
Vincent glared at Vlad while emitting an overwhelming ominous wave of malice.
The powerful intent full of malice was overwhelming the residents, Jun Ye Rim, Maria, Bilka, and Anna. Even those who had a connection with Vincent felt intimidated.
Lucas used his intent to counter Vincentâs overwhelming intent, but he could not win. The intent subsided by three quarters. The last quarter was still enough to inflict fear.
*Tsk* âI will help you this time.â Vlad complained before he used his intent to help and overwhelm Vincentâs sinister intent.
Both men soon frowned.
Vlad questioned, âWhy is that monsterâs willpower stronger than a demonic beast? I didnât think he was an actual fiendish monster disguised as a human.â
Lucas pondered, âNo wonder all the otherworlders mentioned in the history were a threat to the world. Vincentâs true power can give us Royal Guards a run for our money. Not to mention he doesnât know a lot about our world. I donât think he lived in this world for longer than one to two years.â
Vincent looked around. He saw Ester, Lupa, Sofy, and Mimi stand up. He saw them injured and crying. He became furious, and on his face, a vicious furious expression contorted. However, he couldnât tell they were tears of joy.
âProtect and lead.â Shouted Ester before going to Maria and deterring Vincent from attacking her.
Lupa understood first. She rushed to the fainted Russo and grabbed him. She looked at his mother and went to her, dragging Russo behind her.
Lilith grabbed Jun Ye Rimâs hand. âStay with me if you want to live.â She said while tears of joy slid down her cheeks.
Sakura noticed Lilith pulling Jun Ye Rim to Anna and Bilkd. Sakura moved her head and saw the resedents were away from each other.
âGather in one place. Gather next to the princess.â Sakura shouted loudly.
However, barely anyone can walk currently. Their legs had become weak after Vincent overwhelmed them with fear. The legs trembled helplessly.
Sakura frowned. She opened her hands and ran to carry anyone who couldnât walk to Anna, acting as the center of the Lionheart Girlâs protection from the mindless Overload Vincent.
Sofy didnât know Overload Vincent was going to be this intimidating. She noticed Lilith and Sakura attempting to gather everyone in one place.
As Sofy was about to help go and them, she heard Iris request, âRestrain Vincent for a moment with your whips.â
