672 Mutations colliding and the temperature rising
Vincent curled his fingers and raised his hands up high before shoving them inside Orsoâs spine with great force. The moment Vincent latched on the large wounded back, the rodeo began.
The ground trembled, the snow shifted, and the trees rustled, but try as it might, Orso couldnât shake Vincent off its back.
As Kazumi had predicted, Orso could not control the parts where Vincentâs attacks landed. Each area had the recovery of the yellow mutated become disrupted. This was the reason many earth spikes were not stabbing Vincent at the moment.
Orso was intelligent enough to know it was futile to continue. It raised the large bearâs body on its hind legs.
Orso lowered its head and moved its right paw to swat Vincent off from its back. The closer the paw approached Vincent, the more small yet sharp earth spikes extended from the incoming paw.
Vincent was in a tight spot. He was about to be swatted by a spiky paw. It would most likely mean a swift death if the attack was not avoided. However, instead of flustering or letting go, Vincent reamed riding Orso with one hand.
Vincent let go of his other hand and raised it above him. His fingers straightened, and they formed a burning hand blade. Vincent gritted his teeth before swinging his arm with all his might.
A blade-like arc of green flames shot at the approaching arm.
The small earth spikes were cut one after the other like butter. The earth spikes became a minor inconvenience, and the green flaming blade arc soon met with the wrist.
.....
Yellow flames appeared instead of blood, and both flames fought against each other. However, one had an advantage while the other had a disadvantage.
The yellow flames raged without stopping as they were being constantly created. On the other hand, Vincentâs flame blade was a projectile without the ability to replenish itself.
Fortunately, when the green flames were about to extinguish, and when the paw was closing in on Vincent, a sudden explosion occurred. The paw was forced to move in the opposite direction while Vincent was in the process of being knocked away.
Vincent knew the properties of his mutated flames and how they were highly flammable. That was why Vincent held on to Orsoâs back with a firmer grip.
The impact of the small blast was strong, yet it wasnât enough to throw Vincent off Orsoâs back. On the other hand, the blast was enough to make Orso start falling.
*Thud* Orso fell on its front legs with a loud thud. The moment the right injured paw touched the ground, the half-cut wrist was torn even further, causing Orso to lose its balance.
Orso fell to its side. Fog caused by previous unmelted snow appeared and covered the two fighters. Above the bear with many parts covered in yellow flames, was a figure clad in green flames.
The figure landed on Orsoâs side. The green flames began to extinguish, starting from the feet and going upwards.
Vincent raised his hands up high, and his flame body started to disappear. The more flames were extinguished, the more the gauntlets burnt brighter and fiercer.
Vincent jumped and slammed both his clenched fists against Orsoâs side and *BOOM!* A large explosion of raging green flames transpired.
Plow raised her tails to protect Awa and Zero from being burned while Awa held Plow tightly as if she wanted to protect the little blue fox on her lap.
âRagnarok is upon us. â Awa said while closing her eyes. She wondered if a human like Vincent could cause the end of the world and the death of the gods.
One second, two seconds passed. Awa started to wonder why she wasnât feeling her skin burning and her life ending with excruciating pain.
Awa opened her eyes, and she couldnât believe what was happening a couple of meters in front of her. A small yellow and green fire vortex spun around Orsoâs body. The less of the yellow flames were visible, the fiercer the heat became.
âVincent Vincent!â Plow shouted.
âVincent... he caused Ragnarok on Orso and possibly on the world. A monster as mighty as a deity is trapped in a prison of flames powerful enough to end the world.â Awa exaggerated.
Awa had never met a person as strong as Vincent. It meant people stronger than Vincent could be as powerful as gods in her eyes.
âMaster. Zero. Await. Orders.â
The fire vortex dispersed all of a sudden. A large black bear and a naked black man with mostly broken green gauntlets appeared.
Similar to how wood turns into charcoal, whatever could be burnt on Orso and Vincentâs was burnt, turning their unaffected bodies into charcoal black.
Orso was on the ground as if it was defeated. Vincent stood tall and mighty in front of its large neck.
âCan anyone help me?â Vincent asked while raising his arm. He swung his arm with the last of his mana, and a faint green blade arc sliced a quarter of Orsoâs neck.
Orso wasnât dead yet. Its body trembled from the pain, but Orso didnât try to stand up. The injuries Vincent inflicted were recovering very slowly. Orso was immobilized at the moment.
Vincent grabbed the neck from the edge of the wound and placed one foot on the shoulder. With his teeth gritted and his muscled bulging, Vincent attempted to rip Orsoâs head from its body.
Plow promptly jumped down. She started running toward Vincent while her body became bigger.
Zeroâs body shrunk, and multiple tendrils emerged from in front Orsoâs mouth. The tendrils wrapped the fangs before helping to rip the large bearâs head from its neck.
Awa couldnât believe Orso was not moving, as if it had surrendered to Vincentâs might. Furthermore, Awa couldnât believe how the little fox she was starting to consider cute and harmless was actually a beast in disguise.
Regardless, Awaâs heart fluttered, and her mind constantly thought of Orsoâs death. Her body swelled with excitement, and her muscles started to contract as if her body was begging to help Vincent end Orso.
Awa clenched her teeth. She mustered her strength to stand up. One step after the other, Awa was slowly approaching to help with Orsoâs death.
The more Awa walked, the more her legs trembled weakly. Her legs ended up hitting each other, causing Awa to fall.
Awa looked ahead. âI will come to help.â She said before starting to crawl over to Orsoâs head. Her determination to kill Orso was unrivaled.
*Tsk* âOverheat ended.â Vincent complained. It meant His power to rip Orsoâs head was greatly reduced.
Vincent moved his gaze onto Plow. Plow was shrinking to her small form as if her little time had run out as well. Both had lost their power-up.
âPrepare to pull at the same time! â Vincent warned before creating a Limb Seed and throwing it inside Orsoâs neck wound.
A tendril emerged. It rose upwards and made a sharp turn to the side. After moving about a meterâs distance, the large thick tendril made another turn downwards.
âPull!â Vincent urged.
At that moment, Vincent pulled with all his strength. Plow bit Orsoâs nose and pulled. Zero pulled with its small tendrils, enough for the tendrils to start tearing.
The tendril of the Limb Seed collided with great force against the wounded neck. The moment the tendril entered inside the wound and the head was being forcefully ripped apart, an unexpected small explosion occurred.
Vincent, Plow, and the large bearâs head were knocked away while Zeroâs tendrils tore.
Awa saw Vincent holding Plow land beside her. Behind Vincent rolled a large black bearâs head.
Awa moved her gaze onto Orsoâs body. She wanted to confirm with her eyes that the great Orso was slain at last.
âDead... Orso has really died. I... I never thought this day would ever arrive.â Awa thought, still feeling it was surreal, even if she witnessed Orso being killed in front of her eyes.
Awa moved her gaze back at Vincent. Her cheeks blushed when her eyes passed Vincentâs lower body.
âIt is over at last. Awa. The monster you wanted revenge on has been slain.â Vincent announced while stretching his body.
â~Yeah~â The embarrassed Awa said in a low voice.
Vincent frowned. He started to question why Kazumi was laughing, but she only responded by laughing louder.
Vincent placed Plow beside him and Awa. He turned his body to the side and asked, âHow are you feeling right now, Awa?â
However, Awa could not respond. Her face was bright red as she could now see his lower body in its full glory.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âDo you have a fever?...â
âN-n-n-n-NO!â Awa embarrassingly stuttered.
Awa clenched the wet grass under her. She tried to lift her body, but her arms lost their strength halfway. Before she touched the ground, a pair of arms stopped her fall.
âAwa. Why did you close your eyes?â Vincent cluelessly asked.
âHuh?â Vincent noticed his hand was black, and he was staining Awaâs shirt. He lowered his gaze and noticed his clothes had all burned.
âPlow. Zero. Can you take Awa inside? I need to store Orsoâs body. I also need to take a wash while the temperature is still warm from the fight.â
âVincent Vincent can count on Plow.â *Pho!*
Zero appeared beside Awa as if it knew what Vincentâs next order was going to be. âZero. Obeys.â
Awa was helped to stand up and assisted in entering the cabin. While Awa was heading to the cabin, she moved her head and took a peak at the naked Vincent.
âHe has the body of a true warrior.â She thought while her cheeks could not stop blushing.
