XVII

CHAPTER 17

"It hurts, please. I'm pregnant, it's yours" the woman mumbled, making Alexis release her grip.

She was about to fall but grabbed the closest thing she could hold, which is the floor lamp in the living room. She didn't know what to feel. Her head hurts thinking how possible it is for her to make her pregnant.

"You're lying. How is it possible?" she uttered with obvious confusion.

"It is a hundred percent yours. I- we..." the female paused thinking about what to say next, while Alexis is studying the woman, "...we slept" she continued.

"I was in a coma, how can I sleep with you? Did you... Did you have sex with me while I was unconscious in that hospital bed?" Alexis asked with anger in her voice.

The female nodded trying to hold Alexis but she swatted her hands. Alexis wanted to hurt the woman in front of her who molested her while she was in a comatose state. How could she take advantage of her? She looked at the woman in the eyes with hate.

"You raped me" Alexis yelled, the female’s tears falling down her cheeks.

She is emotional, seeing the hatred in the eyes of the person she cared for is painful for her. She is pregnant and doesn't regret what happened. By this time she can keep Alexis to herself, now that she is carrying her child.

"I don't want to see or talk to you for now. I need time" Alexis said, who tried walking to the kitchen, slowly taking her steps.

Alexis couldn't believe the woman raped her while she was unconscious. Did she do it once or did it plenty of times? Her head hurts thinking too much. She needs to work hard and finish regaining her strength and movement as soon as she can, then figure out what to do next.

Once she is healthy and strong she will go back home, find her family who she knew has been worried about her for all this time she was missing. And to figure out who the blonde was in her dreams. She feels happy whenever she sees the blonde in her dreams yet she still couldn't see her face. All she knew is that the woman seemed so close to her.

Julia, Maximus and Ricardo had been back to the US for a week now. They found out that the person who took hold of Alexis took different flights and they are figuring out which country they are in now. They are playing a mouse and a cat kind of game.

One thing they are sure of is Alexis is still alive and breathing. They told their family about the news and everyone was happy to hear it. When Samantha heard the great news she couldn't contain the happiness she had. She embraced her daughter and cried with happiness.

Amalie was staring at her mother and everyone who was crying and sobbing. She is so confused why they were tearing up.

"Ma-ma" she mumbled, she is still trying to practice her words. She had attempted a few and everyone was happy when they heard her say her little words and were proud of her.

Samantha hugged her baby and told her that she is fine. Later the little one smiled at her mother.

Julia left the mansion where everyone was happy to know that Alexis is not dead. She is now meeting with her cousins. She called Gianna to come and meet her at a coffee shop near Griffin Park.

She arrived first and reserved a table for them. She already got herself some sandwich and a glass of orange juice, she's starving. She looked at her watch to check the time. A new set of customers had entered the cafe, and it was Gianna and Stefano. She can hear the two arguing.

"Why are we here, Gia? I have someplace to be" Stefano complained.

"Shut it will you" Gianna remarked, making her older brother quiet. He knew his sister so well not to annoy her.

The two came to an occupied seat, Stefano wondering who they were meeting. He couldn't tell who it was because the female's back was facing them and hair was loose. He can't decipher if he knew the person or not, until Gianna and him are seated.

"Julia" Gianna greeted her cousin she idolized.

Julia smiled and greeted the two of them. Stefano could tell there is a black aura around his cousin right now, he is sweating pretty hard even though the AC is on. Julia suddenly looked at him and he swallowed, feeling nervous.

"You two ordered first then I have something to ask you after our meal. It's my treat besides I came back last week and have good news" Julia said who is smiling, Gianna smiled back at her while Stefano wondered what could be the good news she has and why does his cousin have a black aura if she is in a good mood?

Gianna and Stefano ordered their meal and enjoyed it. They had a short discussion about the food, drinks and the place. Stefano was feeling a little better as the time passed they spent with Julia.

As soon as they finished the meal, Julia talked about the work Gianna had been helping her and her brother. The paperworks that is needed to be signed by some agency that wanted to partner them.

She looked at Stefano with a death gaze, Stefano swallowed hard and couldn't look straight at her. Gianna on the other hand feels amused how her brother is so scared of Julia, she wanted to laugh at his reaction but tried so hard not to. She can tell her brother did something wrong and he needed to be punished or something. In their family’s next generations the one who leads is the alpha female, to Gianna her brother is like an omega that could wag his tail when he is scared and if he wanted to please others.

"You, Stefano" Julia paused, "...I've heard you know the reason why uncle and I flew to Asia. A little dove told me you're the one who told" Stefano is sweating so hard when Julia continues speaking, Gianna is listening and is curious about what's going on.

"How did you know about it? Who told you? You better answer than lying" Julia threatened.

Stefano nodded like a good dog, Gianna giggled. She couldn't contain it anymore and let out a giggle that her brother glared at her.

"I accidently heard you and your uncle talking about the plans on finding Alexis in Asia," he explained.

"Where?" Julia wanted to know everything.

"At Benny Boy Brewing, a place I didn't expect you and your uncle would be in" he answered, Julia thought about the place, then it hit her. She remembers her and her uncle wanted to low-key find a place nobody in her family would expect them to be in, so they could talk about Alexis freely without anyone in their family interrupting them or asking a lot of information.

"And what are you doing there?" Julia asked another question.

"Well me and my boys wanted a drink, and a quick dinner then we will leave and party" he replied. A typical mind of Stefano who loves to have fun in a club or do parties.

"Next time before you tell Samantha, ask me first" she said, making the guy nod.

She bid goodbyes to her cousins and drove back home, where her wife was waiting for her. She first bought her some flowers and picked a fine wine. Tonight they will have a fun night of their lives.

Stefano soon took off and left his sister. He told her to hail a cab. It's her punishment for laughing at him in front of their cousin Julia. Every cousin they have always picked Gianna over him, even his other cousin Stephanie is super close to his younger sister. Good thing though boys alike are close just like him and Glenn.

"Sam" he called for the blonde who was shopping with her little angel.

"Stefano, are you shopping for something too?" The blonde asked the man, the little girl staring at him closely. She sees him a few times around her mother or with her Auntie's.

"Yeah, I'm buying some shirts, mind helping me?" He asked for the help of the blonde who nodded to agree.

She doesn't mind helping the man, besides they were friends and helped her many times too. Samantha picked some comfy unicorn onesies. She both took the white and rainbow one for her little girl, who smiled when she saw it.

"You like it? Unicorn like your horse at home" Samantha said, making the girl clap her little hands.

Stefano was staring at the mother and daughter, looking amused at how cute the little girl was. She is beautiful like her mother, he needs to step up his game and earn the love of this woman.

He reaches for a cute pink beanie that's a rabbit design and shows it to Amalie whose eyes twinkles when she sees it up close, she makes grabby gestures to reach it. Samantha looking at Stefano knowing what her daughter likes to smile.

"Da-da" Amalie suddenly mumbles, Stefano froze then smiled.

The little girl called him Da-da. Samantha carried her little angel that was on her stroller and said, "No sweetie, that's not Dada, that's uncle Stefano" she told the little girl who doesn't understand a thing and kept saying Da-da.

Samantha sighs and looks at Stefano and lets him carry Amalie. Her daughter cuddled with the man who is longing for her real father. She studied how her daughter fell asleep while Stefano was carrying her while they shopped. She thought about Alexis, praying to show up soon, she doesn't want their kid to think that the other man was her father.

"I'm sorry about earlier and thank you for carrying her all this time" she apologized and thanked the man at the same time.

"It's okay, I'm fond of her. She really longed for her father" Stefano uttered that pains Samantha.

He was right, the father was absent all this time. And she is struggling to single handedly take care of their daughter, if only Alexis is here it will be a lot bearable.

Alexis all of the sudden bit her tongue somebody is thinking about her, longing to have her back. Alexis held her pain striking head, she remembered something.

"Samantha" she mumbles with a smile.

She remembered the blonde who she kept dreaming of. Now she remembers her, she wanted to fully recover and fly back in her arms. She quickly tried to look for some device she could use to contact someone but still failed. This flat doesn't have a phone and the female never lets her use any device. She felt helpless and weak. She is not strong yet and capable.

"What are you looking for?" The female asked while holding a plate of food.

"Nothing. Where's Nadia? You aren't supposed to be back here" Alexis replied with hatred.

"I sent her home. She will have two days off and we will talk about us" the female answered and looked at Alexis who's frowning.

"There's no us, Livy," Alexis spat loudly, making the female flinch. "I want nothing to do with you. I appreciate you taking care of me all this time, but you failed to return me to my family and molested me" she continued.

The female tried grabbing her hand and begging her to listen.

"I'm pregnant with your child. Let's be a family" she reasoned out, Alexis softened a little.

If it's true that it's her child, she will take care of her but being with the woman? She can't. She just remembers the person she loves and that's the woman she wants to be with.

"I'm sorry, Livy but I love someone else. I will be a father to your child but that's it" she spoked being apologetic.

"You remember?" the female asked startled about learning  Alexis remembers the woman.

Alexis nodded and told her she remembers the blonde and loves that woman. While she is with her she will try to help her with her pregnancy but when she is fully recovered she wants to be back with her family and look for the blonde.

"Don't you think she already moved on while you were gone? You have been missing for more than a year" the female said trying to cloud the thoughts of Alexis.

Alexis was in distress thinking what the female said. What if the blonde moved on from her and found someone else. The female noticed the silence of Alexis and smiled internally, her words had an affect on the woman.

"I already hired people to follow the person you said you love. In the next two days they will give me updates about her" she said, making Alexis look at her confusedly.

How did she know her? They never met once.

"How did you find out about her?" Alexis curiously asked.

"I had my ways," the female replied shortly.

Two days later, one of her people called the female. They told her about the datas she wanted not only just about Samantha but also about Alexis' family. What they have been doing all this time, and who is around them.

"Ma'am I already sent the photos, it will arrive at lunch time in your time zones. Just like you ordered, everything is done via airmail to be safer. Is that all you wanna know ma'am?" her private investigator said.

"I want you to continue watching the blonde and who is around her. And tell your partner to keep an eye on the elite family and contact me in the next three days" she finished saying and ended the call.

The private investigator throws the burner phone which will self-destruct after they press the button to destroy it. It is much safer to use that kind of device especially if they are working under a wealthy family.

By lunch time a courier knocked on the flat they were staying in. The servant received the parcel from the courier, called out to her madam and informed her about the parcel she had been waiting for.

The female thanked Nadia and sent her back to doing her job. She opened it and took the photos her investigators sent her. Some are about Alexis' family and few of them are about the blonde. She smiled when she saw a lovely photo she had seen.

"This will definitely break you" she said with a wicked smile.

She kept the other photos and left the ones Alexis will need to see later when she picked her up after her session. She put the photos she will show to Alexis inside  a white envelope and left it on their living area on purpose. She kept the others in her secret safe.

The time she picked Alexis up, she asked how it was and the doctor said she was almost there. Alexis asked her doctor and therapist if she can go back to working out at the gym and they told her she can but start from some light weight for now and can do the heavy ones in the future.

Alexis could walk better now, not as fast as before but she can walk longer and have her balance back. Thanks to all the hard work she did to recover. Nadia greeted them back when they arrived in their flat. Alexis is in a good mood and had a wide smile greeting their servant.

"I made some beef tacos like you suggested before you left madam" Nadia said to inform the female who smiled and thanked her.

She is also in a good mood. She is excited to see what Alexis' reaction will be when she sees the photos. Alexis walked to the living area and comfortably seated on the couch.

She suddenly noticed a white opened envelope on the coffee table. She reached to pick it up and was curious about what was inside. The female is in the kitchen with Nadia taking a bite of the tacos she has been craving.

Alexis opened the envelope and saw a few pictures inside. She first saw the face of the blonde up close. She smiled upon seeing the beautiful goddess she wanted to hold again. She is now in the second picture of the blonde carrying a little girl with her, with blonde hair too. She was in a mixture of confusion and curiosity when she saw the blonde and the little girl. She moves to the next photo where it's the blonde and man's back pushing a stroller with a baby.

The longer she looked at the photos she felt a pang, it is like what the female said a few days ago was coming to reality. She next sees a photo of a man still on his back carrying the little girl who was smiling cutely. The last photo was a picture of the three, Samantha smiling at the man who's carrying the little girl who was wearing pink beanies. They look so happy together.

Alexis didn't notice the tears streaming down her face when she saw the person she loves moved on and now has her own family. She is supposed to be the person who she is with and have a family of their own not someone else.

"It's supposed to be me" she mumbles silently feeling gloomy.

She was happy about her health getting better but now she felt dejected with what she had witnessed. The female saw the reaction of Alexis from the kitchen door. She has been fixing her gaze to Alexis waiting for the right time to approach her.

"What's wrong?" she asked with worry seeing Alexis tears.

Alexis wiped it quickly and nodded that nothing was wrong.

"Oh it arrived already? What's inside that?" The female asked pretending that she knew nothing but the truth is she is the one who put it there to be noticed.

"Just some trash" Alexis answered with irritation.

She is having a mix of emotion after she saw the photos of the woman she loves together with a man and with a child. She had a lot of questions in her head, asking who could be the lucky man she envied.

The female took the envelope and stared at the photos one by one, gasping and acting like she was shocked to see those. She sat beside Alexis and gave her a comforting hug, Alexis couldn't see the evil grin she had while she comforted Alexis.

Alexis now is enraged and grabs the set of pictures from the hold of the female and ripped it off. She then stood and left the living area and came to their room. She wanted to be alone right now and to think.

She went to the balcony of their flat, looking at the sky that is turning orange. The sun is setting in Zurich and it is calming her nerves. She loves sunset most especially by the beach where the memories of Samantha and her are flooding her mind right now.

She cried remembering the blonde and those green eyes she loves so much. She pitted herself. Why can't any girl stay in love with her?

"That kid looks like a year old. Does that mean she moved on and found someone else right after I've gone missing?" she asked herself which made her sobbed.

She really loves the blonde but the blonde chose someone else and now they have a child together. Alexis felt disappointed about the blonde and started to feel hatred. The reason she has now left is to get stronger, and healthier to see her family. Maybe she needs to just accept that she is going to be a parent but to a different woman but the blonde.

She went downstairs and came to the female and said, "I'll be a good parent and take care of you both" when the female heard that her smile went wider.

Her tactics were a success, Alexis now dislikes the woman she loves. When the real truth is that the blonde was a single parent but photos could really blind you sometimes. What your eyes see could really mask the whole truth behind it. She is happy about it and will work her way to have her heart. They have a child on the way and at this time everything will change for them.

A few months have passed and everyone is getting busy planning the coming birthday of Alejandra the master of the mansion. It's Alejandra's 82nd birthday and it's the second year Alexis isn't attending which upset the old woman. She had grown weaker ever since Alexis was gone, the only thing that made her happy was her great granddaughter Amalie. The little girl gives her strength and hope to see her granddaughter Alexis. She wishes to see her again on her coming birthday, that will be the greatest gift she'll ever receive.

"Abuela" Julia called out to the older woman who was spacing out.

Julia sighed together with Rachel. It's always the same whenever someone is having their birthday and looking forward to seeing Alexis they tend to space out and think about her. Just like what happened to Alexis' parents, her grandmother, Rachel and Samantha.

"We will find her, we're close already" Julia tried to cheer up the old woman who gave them a faint smile.

"Right, abuela. So cheer up, Alex wouldn't be happy to see you go weak and thin. She will surely push food through your mouth when she comes back" Reached seconded and joked making the old woman nod with a smile.

They again both sigh in relief, they know their grandmother's favorite is Alexis. The only person that could make her laugh most of the time. Ever since her disappearance she lost interest in finding rare artifacts, she thinks that because of her sending her heir looking for that piece and falling in love was the reason why they lost her.

She loves the woman Alexis loved, and thanked her for having the little angel. Now it's the little one that gets her attention and makes her genuinely smile. She always stares at the bluish eyes of her great granddaughter like she misses the looks of her granddaughter, Alexis.

"Gwanny" she heard a familiar voice of a little kid.

She turned around and saw the little angel who was walking beside her mother. She smiled and waited for the little one to jump in her embrace.

"Hope. Granny misses you too" Alejandra said while carrying the little girl.

Samantha and Amalie were spending a month in San Francisco with her family. They moved back there when Amalie turned one year old and sold the house they had here in Los Angeles. Her father sold it without telling them the reason why, he only said he preferred the calmness in their rest house in San Francisco.

Samantha also started to get back on her searches about artifacts and other rare artworks from ancient times. She felt better not meeting Alexis' ex-fiance, Olivia Rothenburg. Rose and her meet once again to another invite about artworks but that was the last time, that was two months after the wedding of Julia and Donna.

"When did you come back?" Alejandra asked Samantha who was talking to Julia and Rachel.

"We actually arrived this afternoon then decided to come here. Hope here misses you, and you too Rachel" Samantha said and pointed Rachel.

"Of course I'm the best aunt" Rachel said while tickling the little one who giggles in the arms of their grandmother. "I'm the best auntie right, Hope?" she told the little girl who nodded, making Julia gasp.

"Excuse me, I'm the best one. Auntie Julia bought you a horse and a playhouse, so I'm the best right, Hope?" She stared at the little one who also nodded.

The cousins quarrel as to who is the best one, while Alejandra and Samantha laugh at them.

"All your aunties are the best to you, Amalie" Samantha said with a chuckle.

Her child loves each of her aunties, she is always happy to play with them, shoot at them with her water gun. Just like how she shoots Donna on her face and Julia laughing at her wife.

"Stop it Hope" Donna screams while Amalie is shooting her with an automatic water gun she bought for her.

Julia laughed at her miserable wife who kept shielding herself with her hands but failed.

"Hope, shoot auntie Julia too" Donna suggested, Amalie obeys and shoots Julia too.

Everyone who was enjoying the pool laughed at the two miserable wives. They were the ones who would babysit while the others were in the pool. The two just came and don't want to bathe yet so they are still in their clothes and not in swimming outfits.

"Hope, that's enough. Mommy will be mad if you don't stop" Samantha said, making the little one nod and stop shooting.

Samantha smiled at her little angel and a little devil daughter sometimes. She is lucky to have a lot of people loving them.

"Have you chosen the flowers you want for your birthday?" She asked the old woman who kissed her daughter's cheek.

"I think carnations and orchids, what do you think?" Alejandra said, staring at the blonde waiting for her suggestions.

"Sets of pink orchids and pink carnations would be beautiful, also if there's some red roses" Samantha told her thoughts, Alejandra agreed and imagined the sets of flowers for her birthday.

They will be busy preparing for the birthday in less than two months. There will be a lot of people who were invited. The business elites and partners are here. Samantha's family will be coming to join the celebration too. Samantha also heard one of her cousins might attend, she had been distant for many years and Julia would be happy to see her again if she comes.

Samantha is now out with Dina to pick something for Amalie. They are going to shop for her for a set of clothes, if they can't find anything they'd like they will go to a tailor to hire them to make Amalie's dresses.

"I don't think anything here will suit Hope" Dina said, they have been walking around different shops for Amalie's dresses.

They found something they liked but if it's not tiny, it's huge for her size.

"I guess we will just come by next time and bring her to a boutique to get her size checked. That's the better option I guess" Samantha said, sighing.

They have been here roaming for hours and couldn't find anything that's perfect for her daughter. Dina suggested for them to eat now because she has been hungry for all the walks they had. Donna and Rose are busy researching the artifacts that they are going to attend to have an auction in the next month. Good thing it's a week after Alejandra's birthday, if in case they decline and not attend the auction.

"Isn't that Stefano?" Dina pointed to the man who was holding a flower and a stuffed animal. He is walking to the parking lot while the two of them are walking to the restaurant Dina picked.

"I think so," Samantha answered without thinking. She knew it's for her and her daughter.

"He is persistent. Why not try to give him one date and that's it" Dina suggested, making her raise a brow.

"Why don't you date him instead," Samantha uttered.

"Nah thanks, I have my eyes set on someone already" Dina replied making her curious who she is talking about.

Dina's eyes twinkled and now spacing out. She thinks her friend is head over heels for that person. Rose and Dina are still single and she noticed the two were crushing someone. They never told her nor Donna, the two kept the secrets to themselves but Donna and her think that Rose and Dina knew who were each other's crushes.

They left after they finished having their meal and drove to Alexis' family home. She left Amalie to the couple who agreed to babysit their grandchild. Dina dropped her and left right away, she said she is meeting someone by 7pm and it's already five in the afternoon, she also needs to get ready.

When she arrived by the gate, a servant came to her, "Young miss someone was looking for you and waiting inside," she reported.

"Who?" Samantha asked the servant.

"The man that always comes by to visit you and little miss" she answered, Samantha now knew who it is.

She thanked the servant and sent her back to her job. She went to the unwanted guests' waiting area. She saw the man she and Dina saw earlier. Stefano is holding the flowers and stuffed animals. When she saw Samantha she stood up and greeted her with a smile. Handed over the gifts to Samantha who accepted it. She told the man not to give her flowers most especially to come to this house unannounced, she doesn't want to let her in-laws think she is someone else.

"Didn't I tell you not to come here, most especially Alexis' parents are here" Samantha pointed out the mistake he made right now.

"They aren't here. I asked the security before I got in" Stefano reasoned, still Samantha disliked him for coming over.

She sighs and lets the man into the living room. She looked around and didn't see the couple and her daughter so she decided to call them.

"Oh sweetie, are you back already?" Gretta asked her by the phone.

"I've just returned and saw everyone's gone" Samantha uttered.

"Max here wants to bring Hope to an indoor playhouse to have fun, we're so sorry not to inform you" Gretta explained, however Samantha said it's okay and she doesn't mind at all. She was only curious where they had gone.

She bid goodbye and told them to have fun. They are going to be home in two hours and will eat dinner. So it's going to be only her to eat dinner.

"Why don't you join me for dinner, they'll be home in two hours" Samantha invited the man.

Stefano agreed and felt delighted by her offer. It's going to only be her and him. It's like the date of the two of them. He feels great spending time with the blonde.

The blonde asked the servant to prepare them an easy and quick meal to enjoy. She doesn't want the couple to see him here having dinner with her. She ended up having a plate of Cacio e pepe and Stefano had a shrimp Alfredo.

While they ate they had small talks, Stefano making small moves of wiping Smantha's face when she had some cheese left by her lip.

"Thank you" she thanked him, Stefano smiling in content.

Their little time together is done and it's time for him to leave. Samantha thanked him again about the flowers and the stuffed animal. He had been gone for half an hour before the couple arrived with her daughter long asleep.

"She fell asleep on the way back here" Maximus explained who then went upstairs to put the little angel on her crib to sleep better.

A week before Alejandra's birthday, everyone was getting busier to check if everything was perfect. Samantha is also busy preparing the decoration set ups with Rachel. The person babysitting her daughter now is Dina.

Dina is at the mall with Amalie. They are going to shop for her new set of stuffed animals, she recently wanted an elephant plushie. Amalie was into animals when they all watched Dumbo as movie night two days ago.

"Auntie Dina will buy Hope her elephant toy" she talked to the little one with a cute voice. Amalie's eyes sparkling and giggling.

They arrived at a toy store, quickly came to the aisle where the stuffed animals were placed. Dina chose different elephant sizes and colors to show Amalie, who disagreed with her choices. She sighs and looks for more options, Amalie by her side just like how she told her to stay put and wait for her.

Dina trying to reach a cute blue dumbo at the top shelf. It was harder than she thought to reach it so she kept trying. She didn't notice Amalie saw something that caught her eyes. She followed a toddler who's holding a stuffed flamingo.

"Biwdy" Amalie mumbles, making a grabby hand to the stuffed animal the toddler was holding.

The toddler was a three year old girl, who ran to show her mommy the stuffed flamingo she picked. Amalie still followed where the toddler went with her baby steps. The mother of the toddler pay for the toy her daughter wanted and left the shop. Amalie who is clueless of what she was doing walk out of the shop, mumbling "Ma-ma" and "Da-da"

While Dina who still kept picking more toys and talking to the little one she thought was still there. She finally picked four items to show the picky girl what she wanted until she turned around and saw the little girl no longer with her. She looks around to spot Amalie but nothing. She panicked and asked a few staff.

"Did you see a blonde little girl, a one year old wearing a Minnie Mouse black dress?" she described but the staff said no because he just arrived for his shift.

She thanked the staff and asked another. She asked like other customers who also said they didn't notice the little girl. Dina panicked where the kid could go with her little steps.

"Where are you, Hope?" She mumbles still worried about her niece. If Samantha knew about this she'd be dead.

Amalie is still walking somewhere where her feet carry her. Few people noticed the blonde little girl however they didn't care and continued gossiping and walking away. All of a sudden Amalie felt hungry, it was time for her milk. She looks around to look for her auntie yet her Auntie Dina isn't with her anymore. Her tears started forming, feeling scared of being alone and her aunt not being around.

"Da-da" the blonde little girl screamed and approached the manly figure.
