As Gia and Gemini stepped out of the café, the late afternoon sun cast a golden hue over the street. The soft breeze whispered through the trees, but inside Gemini's car, the atmosphere was anything but calm.
In Gemini's car :
The door clicked shut, sealing them inside the cool, quiet interior. The moment the engine purred to life, Gemini's voice cut through the stillness.
So... who is this Fourth ? His tone was measured, calm, but the underlying curiosity and protectiveness were impossible to miss.
Gia glanced at him, half-smiling. He's my first friend at university, Phi. He's... different.
Different how ? Gemini's eyes remained on the road, his hands resting lightly on the wheel, but the slight tension in his jaw betrayed his interest.
Gia leaned back in her seat . Well, he's cheerful, always joking around. He makes it easy to feel comfortable, like we have been besties since diapers.
Gemini arched an eyebrow. And ?
And he saved me. Gia added remembering the events at the university today.
The memory of Fourth stepping in, calm but fierce, flashed through her mind, and Gia nodded. Yes. There was this group of girls. They cornered me, told me to stay away from Sky and Nani. He showed up just in time. Her voice softened. He didn't hesitate.
Gemini's grip on the wheel tightened slightly. And you didn't tell me earlier ?
I didn't want to worry you. Gia admitted, her tone light but sincere. Besides, Fourth handled it.
Gemini's lips pressed into a thin line, but he said nothing for a long moment. Finally, he exhaled, his tone softening. You're too trusting.
Gia laughed softly. Maybe, but with Fourth, it feels... safe , even his elder brother , Phuwin is also nice to me.
Gemini's gaze flicked to her briefly, a protective glint in his eyes. We'll see.
In Fourth's car :
Meanwhile, in another car, the atmosphere couldn't have been more different.
Fourth leaned back in the driver's seat, one hand lazily draped over the steering wheel as he whistled a lighthearted tune.
His other hand idly drummed on the dashboard as he replayed the earlier encounter with Gemini in his head, the grin spreading across his face like wildfire.
That guy. Fourth muttered to himself, chuckling. So serious.
He tapped a finger against his chin, the mischievous glint in his eyes growing brighter. How should I mess with him next time ?
A sly grin curled his lips as he imagined Gemini's stoic face twisting in mild annoyance. Maybe he'd call him Phi Gem again, drawl it out just enough to irritate him.
Or perhaps he'd pretend to forget his name altogether. Oops, sorry, was it Gemini or Geminius ? You alphas have such regal names.
Fourth laughed at his own thoughts, the sound filling the car. Oh, this is going to be fun.
The idea of ruffling Gemini's feathers was just too tempting to resist.
Pure-blood alpha, huh ? He mused aloud, smirking. Let's see how long he can keep that cool.
As Fourth's car pulled away from the café, the sunlight filtering through the windshield, one thing was certain: the next encounter between him and Gemini would be anything but dull.
The next day , the day passed in a blur.
The afternoon sun hung lazily in the sky, casting a golden glow over the bustling campus as students poured out of their lectures.
Laughter and chatter filled the air, but amidst the vibrant noise, one figure stood outâa tall, imposing presence leaning casually against a sleek black G-Wagon.
Gemini's posture was effortless yet commanding, his arms folded across his chest, the faint glint of an expensive watch catching the sunlight.
His face was a mask of calm detachment, cold yet undeniably magnetic. As usual, the murmurs followed him like a wave, curious glances and hushed whispers rippling through the crowd, particularly from the female students.
But he paid no mind, his focus singular.
His sharp gaze locked onto a familiar figureâGia.
She was laughing, the sound bright and carefree, her head tilted back as she watched a ridiculous reenactment.
Fourth, Sky, and Nani were putting on some kind of exaggerated performance, their antics drawing amused attention.
Fourth was in the middle, pretending to duel an invisible foe, swinging an imaginary sword with dramatic flair while Sky narrated in an overly serious tone and Nani clutched his stomach, doubled over in laughter.
Gemini's eyes narrowed slightly, observing the dynamic. His sister looked entirely too comfortable, too amused, especially with Fourth.
As the group neared, Gia noticed her brother and waved excitedly.
Phi Gem ! She called out, her smile wide.
Fourth caught sight of Gemini, and a mischievous smirk instantly curled his lips.
The memory of yesterday's handshake flashed in his mind, and he remembered his new personal goalâto get under Gemini's skin.
Look who it is ! Fourth announced theatrically, throwing an arm around Gia's shoulders as they approached. Nice to meet you yet again Phi Gem.
Sky and Nani exchanged amused glances, sensing the shift in the atmosphere.
Gia groaned softly, though a smile tugged at her lips. Fourth, stop.
Oh, come on, Gia. Fourth teased, his eyes glinting with amusement. Your brother is a pure-blood alpha, right ? Shouldn't we roll out a red carpet or something ?
Gemini's expression remained impassive, though his eyes glimmered with icy calm as he pushed off the car. Still as cheeky as yesterday, I see.
Fourth grinned wider, stepping closer, his hand extended as if for another handshake. What can I say ? I like making friends.
Gemini didn't take the hand, instead glancing at it briefly before meeting Fourth's gaze. You try too hard.
And you, Phi. Fourth drawled, dropping his hand with an exaggerated shrug. Don't try at all. Balance, right ?
Gia nudged Fourth hard in the ribs, her face turning red.
Enough. She muttered. Don't embarrass me.
Gemini's cool gaze shifted to his sister, softening only slightly. Ready to go ?
Gia nodded but turned back to her friends. See you guys tomorrow.
Fourth leaned in slightly, his voice low enough for only Gemini to hear as Gia said her goodbyes to Sky and Nani. You know, you could smile once in a while. Might be good for you.
Gemini's jaw tightened, but he didn't take the bait.
Instead, he gave a small, cool smile that didn't reach his eyes. I'll smile when you've earned it.
Fourth's grin only widened as Gemini opened the passenger door for Gia.
Challenge accepted. He whispered with a wink before stepping back.
As the G-Wagon pulled away, Gia glanced back out the window, waving at her friends.
Fourth stood there, hands in his pockets, the sun glinting off his hair, still grinning like the cat that got the cream.
Gemini drove in silence for a moment before finally speaking. He's persistent.
Gia couldn't help but laugh. Yeah, but you'll get used to him.
Gemini's eyes stayed on the road, his lips curving ever so slightly. We'll see.
