Chapter 27 : Meeting! (1)
In Search of Him!
Everyone quickly became silent. They tossed off their activity they were previously doing and put their full attention towards the pondium, where Solar and Nut stood.
Solar cleared his throat, trying to ignore the chewing sounds that revibrated around the room because of a certain elemental tried to keep himself awake.
"As you know about our last mission or test yesterday that took place on Planet Umbraâ"
Halilintar muttered but it was loud enough to be heard in an entire quiet room, "They should give us more credit since that planet was literally haunted, even worse than Planet Dargha'ya."
Feeling annoyed because he was suddenly interrupted, Solar calmly retorted, "Pikachu, we can hear you clearly even from down here. Now, shut up and let me finish my amazing presentation."
Halilintar huffed coldly at him while crossing his arms on his chest, cheeks burned red in embarassment. Taufan giggled playfully at him and Blaze snorted at the nickname used by the light elemental to adressed their most grumpy counter part.
"Haunted?" Maskmana asked Admiral Tarung who sat on his left.
"Previously, we always got a power sphere signal from that planet. But, we couldn't find the power sphere's name from our power sphere lists. It was a completely unidentified power sphere. We didn't know from what generation it is from or its background. Therefore, we decided to send our agents to investigate that planet, but instead we lost contact of them for almost 24 hours! When we could contact them again, they reported that they were misled while they were exploring that planet." Admiral Tarung explained, face a little scrunched up in a frustation.
Commander Kokoci continued while looking at his tablet, "We knew something was wrong from the report they told us because of the incident years ago, there shouldn't be any survivors there. That's why, we decided to send the elementals to Planet Umbra since we believed they could find out the problem."
He went silent as he pondered over the fact that he will say something utterly ridiculous to be believed for the others before resigning.
"It turned out to be a ghost." He sighed.
The admirals and captains stared at the shortest commander with weird expression. All of a sudden, they heard a booming laughter coming from Admiral Gata as he wheezed from how hard he laughed.
"Nice joke, Kokoci!" He hit his own thigh repeatedly, still laughing.
However, he was answered with a silent from Admiral Tarung and Commander Kokoci, a sharp contrast of his action.
The laughter and the ridiculous expression immediately left his face and he whispered in disbelief, "No way..."
"You two spoke nonsense. There's no such thing as ghost." Admiral Amato frowned at them.
Solar crossed his arms and tapped his foot on the floor in annoyance because his presentation get interrupted, "Well, we, the elementals, are real and standing exactly right in front of all of you. What makes you think that ghosts aren't real if being like us aren't even suppose to appear and have bodies?"
"...That's make sense.." Fang muttered.
Solar huffed confidently at him, "Of course!"
Nut chimed in, pointed to the three humans in the meeting room, "And they said they didn't believe that aliens were real since the start. But after Adu du's invasion to the earth, they started to believe that aliens are indeed real."
"And if you included the super power these ordinary humansâ" Taufan gestured to Gopal, Yaya, and Ying offended face, "âshouldn't even have, it'd be a good evidence for something that earlier we thought aren't suppose to be real, but it is real instead. Get it?"
The elementals stared stupefied and surprised at his statement. Taufan looked to his left and right, confused at how the others currently look at him.
"W-what?"
"...Didn't expect something like that would be coming out from your mouth, instead of Smartypant's." Halilintar mumbled.
Taufan pouted at him, "Hey! I could be smart too whenever I want to, you know!"
Solar quickly intervened before Halilintar could make another remark.
"Be quiet all of you! When can we start our presentation if you all kept interrupting me?!" He hissed with both his eyes turned white as if preparing to shot lasers from his eyes.
Everyone quiet down, even the admirals and captains and Nut who was beside him. They had saw Captain Vargoba's condition after he got blasted by Solar's attack few months ago. They grimaced at the sight of that poor man.
The burnt marks were really bad that it took a month for him to be concious and another 2 months for him to move his fingers. They're really lucky that it was Captain Vargoba who received the attack and not them. Because hell nah, thank you.. they didn't need to feel the wrath of the light elemental directed to them.
Solar blinked and his eyes turned back to normal once he opened them again. He grinned, pleased by the silent he got before continuing his presentation.
"Now, where was I..?"
Thorn eagerly pointed out from his seat, "About the part where we took our last mission on Planet Umbra, Solar!"
"Ahh, yes, that's right. Thank you, Thornie." Solar chuckled at him.
Thorn gave a big beaming smile to Solar as he swayed his feet on his seat in excitement. The others couldn't help but get affected by the cuteness radiating off of him.
Admiral Agura felt like an imaginary arrow stabbed her heart dead on at the innocent OwO face that written all over on Thorn's face.
Solar started, "Planet Umbra was a well known planet for almost thousands years because its advancement in both technology and education. The scarce natural resources are also became the basic pilar of this planet improvement."
"Rare minerals, like Tanneside as a basic ingredient for spaceship alternative fuel, is one examples of that rare natural resources. This rare minerals was the main reason for Planet Umbra to be one of trading center in a whole galaxy."
Nut helped Solar with showing a hologram of a crystal with bluish white color and the alternative fuel made from Tanneside with spaceship. Another bunch pictures of a rowdy market with different kind of aliens selling or buying the said fuel appeared beside it.
"But, due to the incident that befell to this planet years ago, caused lead to reduction in population and the destruction in the environtment. The mass murder and the bombing with Amanthanite, one of mineral most dangerous resources in the whole galaxy, as the bomb's main ingredients alsoâ"
"Amanthanite?!" Admiral Tarung suddenly roared in anger.
Almost everyone flinched at the loud voices that echoed in the room. Blaze, who was almost dozzed off because of boredom, instantly snapped awake and turned left and right in alert.
Solar's eye twitched as he forcefuly answered, "Yes."
Admiral Gata then leaned to the front with both his eyes narrowed at him, "Are you sure is that Amanthanite?"
Solar crossed his arms, giving the admiral a flat look, "Yes, I am."
Admiral Gata then leaned back to his chair as the room immediately filled with whispers as the attendants whispered about the new information they just found out. Halilintar frowned at the noisy situation that occured all of a sudden around him.
"Impossible." Sai muttered.
Gopal whispered, "What's Amanthanite, Fang?
"It's the most dangerous mineral in the whole galaxy. If you use 10% of it to make a bomb, it's enough to destroy the entire one planet within a few seconds."
The trio earth widened their eyes in horor. Yaya closed her mouth as she stared at the hologram of pinkish crystal in the pondium dreadfully.
"Someone have something dangerous like that?" She asked while trembling.
Ying added with anger, "So horrible!"
Fang sighed, "That's why we strictly guard every mines that produces Amanthanite so it won't be used by bad aliens, although there are still ilegal Amanthanite trading in black market."
"Hali, what is Amanthanite?" Taufan asked to the grumpy elemental beside him.
Halilintar shrugged at him causing Taufan to pouted at him. Thorn looked around him while tilting his head to the side in confusion.
"Solar, what's an Aman.. nite...?" Thorn loudly asked Solar who perked up at the question.
He chuckled at the poor pronounciation that was said by the leaf elemental , "It's A-man-tha-nite not Amannite, Thornie."
Thorn let out an 'Oh' sound in embarassment. His face scrunched up in concentration as he repeatedly tried to say the word in his lips until he got to say it right. Gempa watched at the determination that shone in Thorn's eyes and chuckled.
Solar walked closer to the Amanthanite's hologram, "Amanthanite is one of the most dangerous minerals despite this mineral is often find in many rocky planets. It mostly contains Methane that could damage the atmosphere layer and contaminate the air to breathe in. Using 5% of this minerals for bomb is enough to destroy half of a planet and it took 100% of this minerals to destroy at least 10 planets with the same size."
From the distance, Gempa muttered in disbelief, "There's such a thing..."
Taufan stared at the hologram, scrutinized it with his carribean eyes before realization hit him.
"Waitâ Did you say 'contaminate'? Then how come we breathe perfetcly fine yesterday?!" He shouted in surprised.
The sudden outburst caused him to received the attention of some attendants. They looked at Taufan weirdly while Halilintar threw his head back and groaned loudly.
"For crying out loud!"
Solar took off his visor to messaged his face and sighed in resignation, "Taufan... my most cheerful brother and our favourite airhead.., are you forgeting what are we exactly?"
The wind elemental was about to retorted at the nickname before freezed as the realization completely sunk in to him. He blinked before nervously laughed while scratching his cheeks sheepishly.
"Hehe, sorry, Solar."
Solar stared unimpressed at him from the pondium which caused Taufan to sweat nervously and darting his gaze somewhere.
"Did you just realize it, Taufan?" Ice asked him lazily as he chewed on his chips.
"..Maybe..." Taufan shrugged.
Ice frowned in confusion, "But, you're the wind element itself."
Nut interrupted, "I don't blame him. Methane will dissapear about ten years although there's still the remaining traces of it, but it's really weak and hard to detect. And it's been around twenty years since the incident that happened on that planet, so the Methane should be disappeared completely, leaving the air free from any dangerous particle."
Admiral Agura leaned back and whispered to her fellow higher ups, "Oh wow, he's so smart, just like that light elemental. I can't believe he really find out all of this in one night."
Solar heard the compliment he got and huffed smugly, "Of course! I am the smartest elemental, a genius one. My good look is not the only advantage that I have."
'There he goes again.' The elementals and Nut thought at the same time while seatdropping.
Taufan muttered, "We literally have the same faces."
"Really, where'd he got that trait from?" Ice mumbled.
But then, Admiral Amato spoke up in pure confusion as he realized something, "Did you say 'reducing in population' because from all we know, there should be no survivors in Planet Umbra, no?"
"Yes, that's true. You said it yourself about the dangerous particle in the air. Moreover, if there are really any survivors, they won't be able to survive because of the contaminated air." Admiral Gata leaned back with his elbow put on the armrest to propped up his chin as he stared at Solar.
It's a clear sign of underestimating and Solar won't take this lighly. His face distorted in irritation before he stared deadpan at the admiral. He glanced at Gempa for permission which the earth elemental gave at him with a nod of his head.
"Apparently, I see that your knowledge is not broad enough, admiral. If you were them.." Solar tilted his head to the side a little with his chin up in challenging gesture, "Where do you think you are going to hide?"
