Chapter 9 Explore

Once in the cafeteria we go to our table and wait for the others one by one they show up nobody talks about the puking incident “hey its stuffy in here wanna head outside?” molly asks us”yea I’m in we could catch some sun”one of the twins said and so we all went outside and we sat at a table out there Instead while everyone ate I just duped on my many bottles of water while everyone was talking my focus slipped to the triplets who I spotted outside they all apart from Greyson were locking lips with some girls in skiers way too short and faces way too caked I felt a twinge in my heart like it was sinking to my stomach and I felt a rage I don’t know what it was but I felt it stronger than ever “just ignore then Ava they’re nothing but bad news and playboys literally, now who’s team are you on Jacobs or Edwards?” “Jacobs,” I say to them they just look at me” what a guy who turns into a wolf oh mamma pray to god for I have sinned from thinking about a rugged werewolf” they burst out laughing at my explanation and I think their laughing was well heard because the trio looked are way. “welcome to the group Ava you passed the test,” they say congratulating me, okay then.

After a while the bell goes and we walk off to class.

The final bell rings and everyone piles out the school grateful to be in the fresh air I breathe like it’s my first breath “hey we were wondering want to come with us to the mall tomorrow?” tomorrow is my birthday but since hunter isn’t here I can’t be bothers celebrating it “sure” “great ill pick you up tomorrow at 9 byes” “thanks bye Chloe I say before I walk off to my aunt’s car and strap I’m you may wonder why we were making plans for tomorrow its apparently because of the heat and the school being a hazard or something I really wasn’t paying attention so I never really got what it meant but apparently our guardians know so that’s a plus.

“so any plans for tomorrow?” Aunt M asks pulling out of the parking lot “yea I’m going to the mall” “with who?”

“my new friends”

“I’m glad you’ve made friends those boys still giving you trouble?”

“no aunt M thank god though we’ll one of them isn’t that bad”

“Which one?”

“the youngest he’s quite nice and attractive”

“now that’s the detail I wanted so the mall will I drop you off or is one of your friends picking you up?”

“they’re picking me up”

“I hope you have a good birthday”

“same here it won’t be the same without hunter”

“oh I know that’s why I got you a gift well two gifts”

“you know you shouldn’t have”

“hey young lady I know you will like these gifts,” she says sternly as we pull up to the house the first thing I see is my car wait my car she got my car here ” thank you Aunt M,” I say hugging her “hey this is only the first gift the second is in the house” as fast as I hear that I quickly get myself out of my seat belt and out the door straight into the house I don’t see anyone or thing until I hear a noise that sounds like ice cream being removed from the container and then I see him I see my best friend in the world “Hunty bear,” I say as I fling myself into his arms “I never knew you missed me this much” I hear him laugh”how, how could you say that you doufus I wanted to drag you through my phone to here literally, ” I say my words muffled

" wait a minute, “I say becoming suspicious them wack I slap his arm” owww what the hell Ava? “he asks rubbing his arm” just making sure your real ” he just gives me a really face but then I look down to see ice cream yummm” come to momma,” I say pulling it and the spoon out of his hands “hey that was mine” “no it was mine” “mine” “mine” “mine” “it’s ours” we nod and he grabs another spoon then we dig in

“so miss me much?” hunter asks shoving a big glob of ice cream into his mouth ew god help the woman who’s going to be stuck with him. “how could you say that doufus, of course, I missed you,” I say offended

“oh I have a question wanna join me and my new friends to go to the mall?” I ask pleading in my voice “sure when?”

“tomorrow” I state

“your birthday oh man um so gonna need to join I need to get you a gift” he states before going into shock about what he just said, “wait you never got me a gift?” “yes I did but your aunt claimed it I was the gift a gift that will last a full year baby” he states happily and I couldn’t be any more ecstatic I get him for a year in school. Me and my BFF back together forever.

I don’t know how long it took for me and hunter to catch up bit by the time I went to bed it was late and I only had one thing on my mind the wolves I never went to see them tonight. Slowly I got out of bed careful not to make it squeak. I crept out of my door down the stairs and out the back patio door which thankfully didn’t require a key I silently walked to the swinging chair and sat down and observed the nature. I heard the owls hooting the crickets I saw fireflies but no sign of the wolves I don’t know how but that made me feel terrible and lonely. I don’t know whether it was the feeling I got or the forest in front of me but I wanted to explore it I wanted to go into the forest so carefully I snuck back to my room and into my closet.

A little fact about me is I am an expert of seeking out I don’t know why I started but I always done it since I was young back in the states there was a forest I loved I used to seek out at night and explore it before I moved I knew every inch of the forest top to bottom.

I grab a pair of black ripped jeans a black cropped sweater and my leather jacket and finally I throw on a pair of combat boots, and tie my hair up.

I sneak back outside and slowly walk into the forest I set an alarm for how long I should be out here for. I slowly walk into the forest pushing my way past the trees and bushes I carefully make my way over twigs careful not to snap them as I venture through I see all sorts of wonderful things glowing flowers rose bushes shrubs wildlife I see lots of amazing things as I venture through I also make markings on trees with the pocket knife I brought so I know which way I came so I don’t get lost. I find myself in a clearing it’s empty and by now it’s 2 am I look around and spot a lake it’s similar to the one in my dream I slowly make my way towards it I look inside its depth to see wonderful creatures I see multiple different fish I see tadpoles frogs all in just one place it’s exquisite.

I’m startled when I hear rustling behind me I carefully rotate to see nothing, nothing at all but as I look closer I see glowing eyes. Slowly they merge from between the trees and I’m so happy I know them and their not wild well you know what I mean they stalk towards me their tails wagging

“hey boys” I say to them and just then they pounce on me covering me in licks and rubbing themselves against me like cats probably making their scent I think to myself.

I start to rub their ears which makes them release something like a purr it’s so cute. I suddenly feel a wave of tiredness, well obviously it’s way past the time I go to bed usually guess I’m running off coffee tomorrow, so I sit down which they also do. Sitting down they are taller than me it’s strange yet comforting.

“you know it’s amazing where you live” I start even though they probably can’t understand me “it’s so green and full of beauty everything is beautiful it’s so colorful yet enchanting to the eye like magic” I look to them and see they are listening to whatever I’m saying “I wonder how old yous are I wonder when your birthdays are,” I say out loud “mines tomorrow turning the big one-eight I bet I still won’t get a break,” I tell them which I see they listen to ears towards me I start to lean back which makes them lie down around me aww “I hate my birthday always have and I think I always will its nothing special it’s just a signal you’re getting one year closer to death I think, I wonder what it’s like to like a birthday. My aunt got me two early gifts for my birthday and I love her for it one was my car from home and the other well it’s my best friend hunter “when I say ’hunter ’they growl” no not like a poacher he’s human but harmless he loves animals especially you guys just like me I swear between yous and me he just wanted me to like him and I think his favorite animal is a cat since he always pets the stray cats it’s strange. I’m also dreading tomorrOw” I say yawning “I’m going to the mall I’m so dreading it personally I like fashion but hate shopping for clothes it’s so annoying and always at this time of year they have flowery things which I’m telling you you could probably see from space lucky yous font have to buy clothes and even if you did males have such simpler options which I envy do you know how hard it is tO find a plain black T-shirt in the women’s section it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack of needles terrible. I really don’t know how people do it ” I say leaning back and ending up lying on midnight’s side which is so soft. My eyes start to feel heavy but I swear to talk will get me through this” I’m really going to miss you all so much when I have to leave it’s not going to be the same there are hardly any friendly wolves where I live you all are just the opposite of them you are just like best friends you listen to me and - and I-I lOOve yous all” I say quietly falling into a comfy slumber where I feel my body being eloped in heat which makes me fall deeper into sleep.
