Chapter 12: Chapter 1.12

Second Male Lead is Important Too!!Words: 9852

After the whole ordeal was done, it was evening, the sky was painted with orange and crimson, along with the callings of wild birds. FeiNan sat stiffly on the bed while JunQing sipped a cup of tea at the small table.

A long silence hung in the air, neither of them talked.

Mustering up some courage, FeiNan started,

"JunQing, I need to visit someone.."

He carefully lifted the blanket and moved his legs onto the ground, gauging JunQing's reaction,

"No."

Suddenly a red cord emerged from JunQing's hands, it had the same pulsating effect as the scribbles before. He slammed the cup down and reached out towards FeiNan, the cord wrapped cleanly around FeiNan's neck, and a searing pain followed.

"J-JunQing! No..Let go!!"

FeiNan was frantic and tried to tear away the bonds, but it just tightened and refused to even budge from his neck.

"Please! I'll come back after I'm done..."

JunQing looked straight into FeiNan's eyes, the original kindness and warmness he once had had disappeared, replaced by fear and sadness.

No wait...

JunQing's pounding heart torn to shreds, this was not suppose to happen. FeiNan was suppose to live out his life in happiness.

He looked down at the blood red cord in his hands,

"What am I doing?"

Snapping out of his stupor, he quickly retrieved it, standing and reaching out to try and alleviate the pain from FeiNan's neck.

FeiNan on the other hand immediately jerked bsck and tried his best to put space between them. His hands covered the bruise neck area as he looked at JunQing.

His slowly backed up and looked at the closed door, refusing to return his gaze he rushed out, muttering,

"I'll be back.."

Once the door slammed shut JunQing slumped to the ground, looking at his now shaking hands, the hands that had hurt his important person.

A small voice in his head chuckled,

"You blame him for her death. He should die."

He flung the cup across the room, shattering it to tiny shards. He grabbed his hair and covered his face, trying to drive these thoughts away,

"No...no..no..."

"Is Host alright....?"

The system whispered, very unlike its usual jovial state. FeiNan slowed his steps but did not stop walking. A low laughter rumbled within his lungs, followed by and chuckle, then a loud cackle.

Tears streamed down his face. But his main emotion was not sadness, it was hate, a deep cold hatred, the type that swallow people whole and never let go.

What does he need? He needs revenge.

Wearing a smile that did not reach his eyes, he jumped over the estate wall.

Making his way to his Second Younger Sister's room, he dropped formalities and kicked the thin wooden door open.

Shifting his mask so that it only partially covers a small area of his face, he looked at the bewildered girl,

"H-how..."

Initially on the chair, the very sight of FeiNan sent shivers down her spine, a bout of disbelief welling up in her heart.

"How? You should be asking why."

Ask the Gods why they let the system revive him.

Reaching out, he grabbed her by the cheeks squeezing it together and forcing her mouth to open. His other hand flicked open a white porcelain bottle, making a pop sound.

"Drink up~"

Dumping the contents down her throat, tears and snot leaked out her eyes and nose. With a smiling face and dead eyes he conoletely disregarded her hands trying to pry him away. She could only helplessly choke on the contents as it slowly trickled down her windpipe.

Once the vial was empty, FeiNan threw her aside, face scrunched up like he touched something disgusting, letting her head hit the corner of the bed, making a gash on her forehead.

"I have questions. You're going to answer me."

She cough and gagged, trying to get whatever she swallowed out of her body,

"W-why should I?"

FeiNan sat on the bed elegantly, his fingers lifted and tapped his cheeks softly, emphasizing for her to look.

She supported herself and looked at the mirror, although it was made of copper and was blurry, she could still see what was happening.

Her small pale face had begun to sprout boils, each bumping oozing blacken blood and emitting a horrendous smell.

"My face! No...No!!"

She clawed and screamed, wanting to rid herself of the ugly exterior, but each scratch gave birth to new boils and the process repeated,

"Are you willing to listen?"

"Y-yes, brother..brother give me the antidote."

"Don't address me so familiarly, two-faced bit*h."

Under her frantic eyes, he pulled out a light blue porcelain bottle, twirling it in his hands a smile replacing his original sneer,

"Why do you want to kill me?"

The question hung in the air, making the room more and more suffocating, but a light laugh came from her, the soft and tinkling voice was replaced by a mad shrill,

"Why? Of course it's because you are in my way....

Isn't it great being a firstborn male from the main wife? My mother is just a lowly concubine. I see all your eyes, mocking me, pitying me, I detest it!!

You, Peh FeiNan, are the obstacle of my life and all who block my way will be destroyed!"

Her eyes widened more and more as she flail her arms around, the desperateness and insanity of her heart finally poured out, all the injustice she faced because she was born in the wrong body.

Who was he to judge her? Who was he to arrange her life and death?

"Then...who did you hire to kill me?"

She fidgited, her eyes darted at the corners of the room as she bit her bottom lip.

Once assuring herself that there was no one other than them, she quickly opened her mouth whilst touching her face,

"I-it was the heir to the Yu-"

A dart ripped through the paper window panels, piercing into her neck. As her eyes widened staring into space, she started foaming at the mouth, trying to construct a sentence but failing miserably.

FeiNan quickly rushed forward and examined her pulse, while the system deemed her unsavable he was enraged and shouted,

"Say it now! Before it's too late!"

As her eyes blurred, dry hot air scalded her lungs from the inside like she was in an oven. The combination of the poison on the dart and the poison FeiNan fed her mixed in her body to give her a taste of hell.

Is this it? Is this how my story ends?

She closed her eyes, regret, fear and resignation plagued her mind for the last seconds of her life.

FeiNan screamed and shouted, not willing to let go of this thread of revenge store in his heart for the man that murdered his mother.

His eyes swiveled to the hole at the window,

Such a strong person was involved? What did he have to gain from this?

Throwing aside the cooling body of his sister, FeiNan muttered afew commands to the system, his hands suddenly materialised a bag of red powder.

Pinching abit of it, he scattered it around the room and then closed the door with a click. Suddenly after a few mintues, the powdery substance exploded into a raging inferno, engulfing the room like a hungry animal.

A familiar black robed man burst in through the thick wooden windows, covering his mouth to prevent himself inhaling the smoke, he looked at the young woman.

Using his foot, he kicked her over, looking at her disfigured face with a keen interest.

"Amazing. I didn't expect that from a pampered Young Master."

Releasing a low chuckle, he exited from the way he came in. Soon after, the fire made the supports in the room collapse, concealing any trace of his presence.

FeiNan stood at the entrance looking at his masterpiece, with the system's shop, he managed to set ablaze the entire household by using a type of powder that could spontaneously explode.

By scattering the rest of the powder with the help of the wind, the fire swallowed up the estate, leaving no one the ability to plead for their lives.

The night sky lit ablaze with fiery vengence, a reflection of FeiNan's heart. The peaks of the flames grew higher and higher, crys and screams slowly died down as the minutes pass.

Seeing how there was no black robed man that suddenly jumped out the buildings he flicked his robe and left.

As dawn broke, the prime minister's household was reduced to mere rubble, the burnt bodies charred to an unrecognisable degree.

"I'm back JunQing."

FeiNan stepped into the small room, now was going to be his home.

Unexpectedly, JunQing rushed towards him, gripping his shoulders with a tightening hold,

"Was the estate fire your fault? Isn't FeiNan your friend! Did you save him?"

Shocked by what he heard, FeiNan needed some time to gather his thoughts.

But this just prompted the man to shake him back and forth, as flickers of anger and disbelief overwhelmed him.

"Calm down, JunQing."

FeiNan pushed him away, his shoulders tingling from the vice grip that he was subjected to.

He was grateful for JunQing to care so much about him, even if it was the other him.

A small chuckled rumbled within the depths of his chest as he stepped back from JunQing, an insane smile plastered across his face,

"Yes, the Young Master is dead,"

His fingers steadily undid the side of the mask as JunQing's eyes widened.

"The Young Master died in the fire."

It slowly fluttered to the ground, at the same time the burning candle illuminating the room flickered as the wind blew in.

A slight smile played at his lips, curving upwards but not a hint of mirth was in his eyes, it was just pitch black.

"Nan-no...FeiNan.."

JunQing flashed back to everything that occured for the past months, everything pieced together bit by bit.

"You got revenge."

He only said these three words.

FeiNan shook his head smiling in response,

"Not yet, there's still a person left. But...he killed the only one that knew who he was..."

His eyes flashed, a touch of insanity. But he did not realise the lost and crestfallen look of JunQing as he observed the other.

FeiNan...
