Chapter 26
How You Remind Me
The Words I Speak
How you remind me of
Dancing to the songs on the roof
As the rain falls
They think we're insane
But why not
Breathe in the air of water hitting the ground
We watched the sunset
For a day where our young souls are wild
Happiness flood my system
As we screamed our lungs out
They were the wrong lyrics
But did any of us care
We keep going back to our song
To a time we were carefree
In a sea of souls we are spirits
Not like the others
But why bother
They said we crossed the line
The lines they drew locked us in a box
A singing bird in its cage
When it longs to fly and see the world
We are not acclaimed to lose ourselves
To wear a mask for someone else
Our own validation
Our own worth
Not for you to price
Not for you to judge
